lady who took my blood was fine and nice, but when I came up to the window about paying my bill, they ignored me. I said "excuse me" multiple times and she didn't look up not once. This was a really unfortunate experience, the people who work at all the ds labs are very mean. I see that they are busy, but that is no excuse to treat others as non human beings.

I got there in the middle of day and no one was in the waiting area. The sign at the counter said OPEN but no worker was around, although i could hear voices. Several times, I knocked and called out for acknowledgment, but no one answered. I waited for almost 10 minutes until their phone rang, and then a worker came out to answer it. After she got off the call, I let her know I had been waiting, and she just said, "Take a number" and walked away. A moment later, another worker came out to finally assist me.

Came here to do my blood draw because my doctor referred me here and it was one of the only two locations that could do the certain type of blood draw that I was ordered to do. It is located on the first floor of the Kuakini Plaza and there is a small waiting area. You just grab a number card and wait to be called. I came in around 7AM and there were 6 people ahead of me. The wait was not too bad as there were three workers seeing patients continuously. I got in around 7:20. The ladies were super friendly and was quick to get me in and out. Even though I had a special test where they had to heat up the containers (I had to wait an extra 10mins). I was out before 8AM. Do keep in mind that some of the tests that your doctors order through DLS don't know some of the procedures that need to be followed. I came here on a Friday for the same test, but because my test required the samples to be shipped, the test had to be done Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday only. It is best to call and let them know what test you need and they should let you know what days are best to come or do prior to visiting.

This place is ridiculous.... they open at 630 with only one employee..... so if you're not one of the first to arrive, you're waiting a super long time. If you're not going to open with full staff, dont open! They have more come in at 7.... FKN d**** If you can, do your bloodwork somewhere else. You've been warned!

They were well staffed but was very slow. My technician didn't introduce herself like how they normally do. She only asked if I was in the medical field. It took about 25-30 minutes before I was able to get my blood drawn. The reception area was well set up for social distancing.

Yesterday I went to drop off a throat swipe from my doctor to the lab. When I got there, there was a woman sitting in the waiting area and I asked if she had been helped. She said yes so I proceeded to the counter. No one was at the desk nor did I see anyone in the lab using their perspective mirror. I rang the bell once. I waited for 5 minutes and no one answered. I looked around but still no one. I rang the bell one more time. A couple minutes later I get an attitude filled lab technician with, "You know, ma'am I have others before you so next time take a number." I explained to her that I was told that I just needed to drop off the sample from my doctor. She continued to roll her eyes and said "ID and insurance card." It took her no more than 2 minutes to make a copy of my cards and have me fill in my signature and phone number. Then when she was finished, she tossed my paper work on the counter and walked away.

It took her no more than 2 minutes to make a copy of my cards and have me fill in my signature and phone number. Then when she was finished, she tossed my paper work on the counter and walked away. Okay first off, she could have easily voiced, "Sorry I'm busy but will be there as soon as I am done." Something. Secondly, I am sick and the last thing I need is for someone to be acting like a fool. Rolling her eyes, throwing an attitude is what children do. She was unprofessional and needs a clear understanding what field she is in. Yes you may be a lab technician, but you also need people skills when doing so. Lastly, the process took her 2 minutes: handing her my sample, Xeroxing 2 cards and get me to sign my name and write in my phone number. I was not there to give blood nor take a urine test. It was dropping off a sample. Granted she may have been having a bad day, but newsflash: you are in customer service so buck up and drop the attitude. I will be contacting Kuakini Hospital at a later time today to speak to a supervisor. No one should have an uneasy feeling dropping off samples and wondering if the lab technician is going to either disregard your sample or botch it. I can assure you that this will be my last time using this lab. With the amount of elderly at this facility, I truly hope this technician doesn't act the same towards them. Kuakini... teach your staff customer service skills.

I always go to this location since my doctor's office is in this building. They have new hours now & are open earlier then before. Cool. Now I can go before work if it's a weekday and I no longer need to wait for a Saturday to get it done. I can't recall if their parking validation WAS for 30 minutes since at most I'd test twice a year but it kind of sucks now that their parking validation is the same as the doctor's validation so I ended up paying $2.50 even though I was only there less than 20 minutes. Kuakini's parking structure has a 15 minute grace period so I must have just missed getting a freebie by a few minutes. Nuts! I hate that. Have your ID & insurance card ready & don't forget to grab a number to get serviced. You now have to stamp your own parking validation so don't forget that either. So far getting blood drawn here is relatively painless. No bad experiences here. They do a pretty good job. It can get busy but the longest I ever waited was 10 minutes. Will have to see about the wait time if I ever do go before work. Though now that I gotta pay for parking I think I need to scout other locations. My overall assessment is 3.5 stars. 4.5 stars if parking was free. So that evens it out to a 4 from me. (o.O)

Needles?? EeeKkk! Not my thing, it terrifies me but not enough to a point where I have to be strapped in the chair. The last thing I want to do is look like an idiot while getting my blood drawn. They are usually on top of things at this location, they are efficient and quick. I've been here more than enough to see that they are consistent with the service they give. And this particular day was on a saturday and they made the line flow so smoothly. When my name got called to get my blood taken I prepped myself for it going down the elevator from my doctors office so I had enough time to calm my nerves down. So a friendly lady explains to me what she is going to do and showed me three vials, YES, 3, that I was not ready for. But I couldn't get out now, but she was very gentle and the only thing I felt was the pinch in the beginning. I was lucky that my blood was easily coming out because I would hate to have got poked again and get a bruise, trust me i've had that happen to me.. :( at another place of course.
