I am so tired of dealing with this bank. I thought there would be some semblance of reasonable behavior from these people but it's been nothing but problem after problem after problem. For no reason other than ineptitude and poor work ethic. Hawaii needs to allow normal banks to open branches on island so people can get business done, this bank is stuck in 1981

Very convenient for those who live nearby the Ala Moana mall. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Worst bank on the island. They're a bunch of thieves. They never allocate for purchases made in real time. So they will make you think that you have more money in your account than you actually do and then pull all the money until your balance gets low enough so that they can put you in the negative and then charge you a bunch of overdraft fees. This bank is going to be part of a class action lawsuit if they don't adjust their policies. I'm going to be number one on that list to sue these people. This Bank is loophole legal and totally 100% taking advantage of people. This Bank prays on the working class. They are just part of the rich faculty of societal demolition.

If you like fees and have your deposits on hold, this is YOUR bank. Seems like they drag their feet and keep your funds pending while they stuff you with fees. Management and staff changed at this branch. No more local vibe over here. Used to be cool having a business account here. After today, I will be shopping for a new bank.

This is one of the smaller branches of the bank in Honolulu. Due to construction by the county, access to the bank from Queen Street has been blocked (circa Aug 2023). Two stars off for the inconvenience of access, compared to other branches. Recommended for those who live very close to condos near the Ala Moana mall.The manager of the bank is very good, and I was able to close a safe deposit box recently without issues. Those in need of a 3x10" box should call immediately, since they are as scarce as hen's teeth. Due to the age of their paper records, I would suggest any customers who set up such boxes (over a decade ago) visit the bank to update signatures. With the horrible fires in Maui, the extra security of a safe deposit is vital no matter where you live.

I had the rudest teller at this bank. I don't know her. But she has long hair and thin. Not sure if she was having a bad day, but would barely look at me when the transaction was done. She seemed annoyed when we asked that she count the monies in the envelope separately because the monies go into trust accounts.

Came in to change my name but was told I had to wait until I receive a plastic Drivers license, not the temporary one. Ok, fine. I had some follow up questions about name changes which the nice teller couldn’t answer so she brought another teller with aggressively manager vibes who came across quite rude when I just needed some help, then gave me a thumbs up and a fake (weird) smile, “good?” Condescending and rude. First teller that helped me was at least cordial. Maybe I caught her on a bad day.

I have several banking accounts, but by far BOH mobile app is the worst and user unfriendly. Just the poor design of the app, makes me want to move my money elsewhere.

Don't be fooled by the commercials and friendly employees working there. I am writing this review as an ex-employee who used to work at BOH. When I first got hired, I had so much potential for this company, but no that did not end up happening. I was overworked, threatened by one of my managers, and treated rudely by the customers. The current manager may be friendly, but she was the one who blamed for the customers being rude because she always believed "the customer is always right." She also bullied me after acting nice in front of the customers. As a result, I got fired from that bank, but I have officially cut ties with them. None of my coworkers even supported me when I was struggling a lot. There is so much that customers don't know about the managers and employees when they are not at the bank. Also, they removed the option to withdraw money from the mobile app at the ATM! And why charge $2.50 for paper statements, and not bother telling the customer about it? Like, where are all these fees going towards?!

Was I just lucky??? No line at all while other banks have always a long line to withdraw/deposit money.
