Anna Salon is a hidden gem. On my quest to have hair that doesn't scare small children away, I have tried ALL sorts of salons. I have come to the conclusion, that the high-end salons that people pay top dollar for, does not always mean one will get top-level results. One is usually paying more for the ambiance. Anna uses quality products and tools. She could charge twice as much for her services, and it would still be worth it. I have spent hundreds of dollars in other salons, in a single visit, and literally left not so happy with the results. I am always happy, and looking so much better, when I leave Anna Salon. She is friendly and kind. She always gives good tips on how to style and care for my hair. After going to Anna Salon, I don't get that feeling of being slightly embarrassed by my hair, when I go out in public. I have gotten root perms, digital perms, haircuts, and pretty soon I will be getting highlights, and color as well. Very few salons offer root perms. If you want volume and fullness in the crown, then root perm is the way to go. Part of me doesn't want to share in this awesome best kept secret, but apparently that's what many Asian gals are having done. Anna said the young gals with really long, straight hair are getting root perms to acheive fullness in the crown. The results are very natural and no one can tell. She is probably the best hairdresser I have ever had. She is skilled with the scissors. She knows how to cut my straight Asian hair in a way that will make it look fuller, and adds layers in all the right areas. She doesn't use a razor to do layers, which I appreciate, because the razor always causes split ends for me.

After searching long and hard for a stylist that does digital perms, I finally chosen Anna to do it and I'm so glad I did. She seems to be the one with most experience and as soon as I met her I got the vibe that I was going to be in good hands. She is Korean but we were still able to communicate. My mom wanted to come along with me knowing the service would be a few hours (3 hrs total) but she was comfortable, esp with Anna constantly checking to see if she's okay. She did give us tea and my mom some mochi which was really kind of her. Anna does work pretty quick but she is efficient. She had started off with a haircut to add layers to my long one length of hair, which enhanced my curls even more. At first it will be tight so don't worry, give it a few weeks and it'll soften to loose curls eventually. Reason why I chose to do a digital perm is because of how fine and flat/straight my hair is. Curling irons don't seem to last long no matter how much product I use. So you should definitely consider doing a digital perm ! Anna will teach you after care and different ways to style it, otherwise, I'll just add in some leave in conditioner and let it air dry. Either way, it'll come out beautiful.

I love how I feel after a hair cut from Anna. I have thin hair but she cuts and styles according to what will be suitable for me. Been coming here for almost 10 years! Thank you Anna.

Anna is amazing! She did a great job with my hair and it turned exactly the way I wanted it! She made sure I was informed about after care and products. She also provided some great Korean Tea and some snacks while I was getting my hair done. I definitely recommend this salon! I had a great experience and prices are very reasonable!

The owner was AMAZING!!! She took me in for a last minute haircut. She was supposed to close at 6pm but she said I could come in at 6:30pm for a simple short bob haircut. My haircut is perfect and her price is very reasonable too. All of the other 10 places that I called starts around $55-$70 for a haircut...a simple haircut. If you need something done nice, quick, and cheap. Go. To. Her. Side note: the salon door is a little bit hard to find. The door is actually located in the back of the building, so you have to walk around and go up to the second floor.

Aloha, K, I'm Asian with long straight hair, I know, I know, you want long straight hair. K we always admire what we don't have. So I wanted curls, lots of curls. But I was afraid to do a regular perm as I didn't want friz. Thank you Yelp you came to my rescue. Read many reviews & researched based on my fellow Yelpers reviews, thank you. So, all perms for Asians points to a Digital Perm, what the h!?? is a Digital Perm? So read up on that too. And pretty much all (or a lot of) reviews for Honolulu Digital Perms point to Anna , nice. Anna was very concerned when I called, she asked me to stop by that day so she could examine my hair & give advice, nice. I did, & she accepted me as a new customer, nice. She set up an appointment for a few days later, nice. K, I was literally plugged-in, hot electricity transmitting through my digital curlers on my head. Anna is very good at this technique, my curls are soft and buoyant, nice. It's fun but is some work compared to my straight hair (you have to twirl your hair on your fingers to set a curl into place), but I'm having fun with my new look & layered cut. Want a new look? Anna is your lady to help. Cut & Perm cost $250, but bought some product & with tip, out the door at $380. K, will probably not do this again for another 1 to 2 years, but I think you'll like my new look :), I do. Here's looking at you! Mahalo!
