Financial transactions in Honolulu, Hawaii...My cousin needed a new debit card from American Savings Bank (ASB). I knew about this location because I kept looking at it from across the street last year when our Jaycee group participated in the Dragon Boat Races at Aala Park. Besides being one of the sponsors, ASB also had a very spirited team! I told my cousin that we should go to this Aala Park "Campus" location because it had free covered parking and is a new building! Yes... the interior is very pleasant and clean. There was an employee in the parking structure - acting like a guard and/or guide. Inside, another employee asked if we needed help - I think he was screening us for possible loitering because we were chatting on one of the sofas.Well - it was a successful visit. My cousin was able to finish his transactions successfully. If he needs to return, I would choose this Campus Branch again.

***3.5 STARS***I've banked with American Savings Bank (ASB) for several decades now. I used to have accounts at multiple local banks but decided to consolidate them with ASB but I now see myself getting bounced all over ASB locations. You see, I once had my account at their Liliha location at Times Square but they closed and relocated to Kingsgate Plaza, which also ended up closing. I'd then go to their Chinatown and Kamehameha Shopping Center branches but guess what? They both also closed. I ended up moving my safe deposit box to their Main Branch as I found out the Campus Branch, the newest of all ASB, doesn't have safe deposit boxes (***scratches head***).I had just returned from my trip to Japan and after meeting some friends for lunch in Chinatown, I found myself running errands and I didn't want to go the Main Branch so I decided to check out the Campus Branch, which is located next to the Chinatown Cultural Plaza.As I pulled into the property, I was impressed with the multiple, covered parking stalls but noticed some questionable foot traffic (homeless?) which made me cautious. But that was immediately alleviated when I saw security patrol on property that had me more at ease. As I entered the Campus Branch I was impressed of the ambience, decor and high ceilings and that was my error as I walked straight in and headed to the left line (shorter of the two lines). When I realized my line took so long to move, I then read the social distancing markers and realized I was in the wrong "business lane." By this time, the "customer lane" had grown so I made my way to the back of the right line. I only had a simple deposit of my leftover cash from my trip so the transaction was quick. As I left the Campus Branch, I was impressed with the landscape and water fountain in front. Overall, a somewhat decent first experience but I haven't made my way back to this ASB location. With online banking and my safe deposit box elsewhere, I don't see the need to come back here.

Always pleasant and efficient interaction with tellers and loan officers and also the parking attendants that help us feel safe when there are the occasional sketchy character acting out in the parking lot.

Terrible Bank. The customer service and the employees' work ethic have completely collapsed. I do not know what is the hiring criteria for customer representative in this bank - seems like they are a bunch of high school dropouts. I had many issues with this bank previously but never wrote any reviews about it. But what they did most recently, I cannot do any business with this bank anymore. I have 3 accounts with this l**** bank and I called over 6 months ago (In the year 2020) the customer service and asked them to change all three bank accounts addresses. I stayed on the call and confirmed multiple times if my addresses were changed. The representative confirmed multiple times that my addresses were changed. I was happy and I went on with my busy life. In the year 2021 in April (this year) I needed my bank statements to confirm my current addresses with an agency. Only to find out they still have not updated my address. So I call them asking what's going on. And the lady on the call was talking smart and confirmed that she has updated my address. Now it's mid-May 2021 still nothing has been updated. Terrible!! On top of that, I also tried messaging the customer service through online banking to ask for a letter or prove confirming my current address - only to hear back from them sending me my old statements with my old addresses on them. I have attached the picture of my conversation with the losers at the bank below. Please read and see how ignorant they are!! Seems like they don't understand the English Language. Never ever do any business with a bank like this. Choose "**** ** ******" over these losers.

Easy opening deposit for basic checking. Close to major bus lines. Right here in Chinatown HNL. Very convenient. Friendly tellers. Good mix of customers. Like a mixed plate from Zippy's Vineyard.

I enjoy having ASB as my Bank, that's as far as I got though no loans, safety deposit box etc. But their banking is excellent so I'm thinking other services are excellent as well!!! Would recommend this bank/financial institution.

This is horrible bank takes 10 days to cash check from chase Morgan biggest bank in the world. 30$ a day over draft on checking account but tales days for app to give balance so it says you have money when you do not. Scam bank do not use use Bank of Hawaii better local bank. Ps customer service is a joke.
