This place needs a reset. New tellers because the chubby girl teller who bites her fingernails down to the skin was so rude and insecure she shouldn’t be working a job where she has to deal with customers.

They have no other way of verifying an account other than the last four of an account number. Not an address, not a birthdate, not any other way. I don't bank there. Don't try and deposit money there. They won't take it.

I went to turkey last year & I ordered Turkish Lira money from the American savings bank & before that I checked the exchange rate. I regret doing that exchange because they charged me way more than the actual rate is & on top of that they charged me fees. I told them about the extra charges and fees & they told me that’s how we do it. I have been an American savings bank customer for more than 15 years , & they didn’t appreciate that & dropped the rate price for me. I’m not sure if all the banks are thieves & charges extra when you’re in need, but my advice to you don’t make my mistake. I went to Turkey & checked the exchange rates, it was exactly the same as the mobile device rates.

I miss pay a friend on your online app! Don't use American Savings Bank New Zelle!! I tried Zelle on April 15, 2022, it declined me so I went in to the bank to deposit to my daughter's account for my daughter's birthday the next day! After Zelle declined my transfer, the next day it took my money without asking me and till today still haven't paid me back!! Still waiting!! Longest wait ever to hold your money!! To me it's theft!!

Really unprofessional and really annoyed. We came in to want to talk to the loan officer, she was busy so we signed our name in and was told to wait in our car for a call when she was available. One hour later, no call or anything. We went in to see what was going on because they were about to close in an hour. We see another lady being serviced that signed in after us. What's the point in signing in if they are just going to pick and choose who they wanna help first. Pisses me and my partner off since we had to wait for over an hour just to find out that they changed their whole system in having to apply for a loan. the lady gave us an application asked us a couple of questions and said "oh it might be harder. you're probably gonna get denied. also we need w-2 or w-4 forms from 2018 and a month of paystubs" first when we signed in no one asked if we had any of those docs so we waited for nothing.

They hold your direct deposit for a day. Not a big deal. Right? It's theft. They keep tens of thousands of deposits overnight. CROOKED. It's theft.

This branch, and this bank are very disappointing in the area of customer service. I have a valid complaint and cannot find anyone to take my complaint. I wish I could find an address or a name of someone to file a complaint with about my experience. This is banking. I am rather shocked. Wondering if anyone has information on how to lodge a banking complaint either with asb or the State of Hawaii?

This is the place my family does it's banking. I can't complain. I usually come early before the lunch hour to avoid the lines that form during lunch and in the afternoon. Staff is usually friendly. Usually we say hi to Eliza when coming here to deposit and what not. Haven't had too much trouble coming here. I wish tellers were more consistent. There are always new faces. There has to be a way to convince people to stick to a job. Not only that, new tellers are nervous so tend to talk story more. I see why the previous reviews talk about the lines being long. Perhaps the proper training on how to move the line will help. The guy in front of me was rolling his eyes as the teller was talking story with a couple. If there is a long line, conversations with customers should be brief. Have consideration for those people waiting for service. Another thing about this place is the parking lot. It needs to be repaved and restripesd. I can barely see the lines in order to park the car.

There are new hires doing new accounts. They messed up the paperwork and had to take time off from work thrice to fix the problem they created. For example, a new savings account was created and ask them to link the account to the existing ATM card. I even ask twice before leaving the bank. The guy says it should be ok I should access the both my savings and checking with the same ATM card. Of course took his word only to find out later when I try to deposit a check i could not access my new savings account with my card. Moreover, my physical and mailing address were all different and my bank mails were being sent to the wrong address. Luckily a relative still lives there and intercepted the mail otherwise possible identity theft . ASB needs to better train their newbies. The whole time that guy was on the phone talking to his girlfriend and something about " I will walk there and meet you there!". If you think the person helping you is a newbie ask to be helped by a senior staff or they will mess up your account.

Still really long lines, Manager addressed the issue last month in a review but no real change has been made. It's a bank, why are there no tellers? Just people looking at their computers...hoping they get money?! Banking use to be a time to meet your neighbor or community...now it's just stand in line, take your money and back to the grind...no personal touch or care...

I hate hate hate coming here. There's always a long a** line at this bank. Better off going to Pearlridge or even Kapolei's one for that matter.
