What a wonderful art gallery. They had so many great gifts and souvenirs that are local and unique, nothing like an ABC store. This place is the real deal, the wood gallery is impressive! The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. We loved all the post cards, hand made earrings and affordable prints. Worth stopping by for sure. Especially if you’re looking for Koa.

Gary was a very thorough guide. Built a relationship with the people living the valley hence why they allow him to conduct tours in the area. Although the tour of the valley was informative, I was much more interested in spending time at the beach. If this is your preference ask if they could just do a beach drop and pick up up when their circle back at the end of the tour to take you back up. Great gift shop and small cafe on site also.

The experience was exactly as I had hoped! Kaleo, our guide was a great balance of informative and friendly, but didn’t chatter just to hear himself talk. Loved the scenery, of course, and learned a lot about this extraordinary area!

Great experience! The road down is closed except residents and this tour company. Our guide grew up 8n the valley and had lots of great stories to tell c9veringbthe history of the valley and its people. The ride was smooth and had stops for photos and to wade in the river. My wife was a bit nervous before the tour but we both absolutely loved it. Make time on your trip for this one

To experience the true, cultural side of Hawaii this tour of sacred Waipio Valley is a must do. We are a local family that used to live on the Big Island and this is the 2nd time we have gone down into the valley with Waipio Valley Shuttles. Kaleo our driver and guide was so knowledgeable and fun! Because he was born and raised in the valley, we were fortunate he shared stories and perspectives that you can only obtain from valley people like him. Since he still farms in the valley with his family he took us over several streams and showed us wonderful sights such as native night herons, taro patches, and of course the 2 major waterfalls. Places we had never before seen in Waipio! Our whole family gives this tour another 5 STARS! Spend a couple of hours with a skilled driver who knows how to safely navigate the steep, narrow road and learn about the real Hawaii!

Our family enjoyed the tour. Our driver Forest was very nice. He drove safely down and up the steep valley road -- I don't think I could do that. He also shared lots of stories about the history and life at the valley, and his personal experience living in the valley/village. Tour bus stopped at two places for us to take pictures and wade in the river. Forest also showed us a fish he caught in his net. We are not allowed to visit the black sand beach, but the view was fantastic and having a glimpse of the village life was cool. The tour lasted about 1hr 40 mins. Forest also recommended the shaved ice place nearby, but we didn't have time to stop by.

Great variety of high quality items. Prices were fair, and certainly less than waiting until you get to the airport to buy things to take home!
