In a time where local artists are being priced out of locations that feature main street visibility, it's awesome to see so many artists featured here! I'm looking forward to coming by this Spring to see what new local work is featured, and would like to talk to you folks about having some of my family's own work hosted there as well (paintings, koa sculptures). This is definitely a highlight of my visits to the 'tav!

I heard the Tavern has new owners- I hope they don’t shut down the gallery. I’ve been introduced to so many amazing artists there, and it’s such a staple of my nights out. I don’t think I would go to the Tav at all if the gallery wasn’t here. Ashley does such an amazing job of showcasing unique local art that isn’t the same old tourist-oriented stuff you find in most Hawaii galleries.

They have some of the coolest and most interesting local articles displayed. Always new stuff so I like going in when I'm at the tavern and all price ranges so it's easy to deck my house out on a budget

This is a great gallery, Ashley really help promote local artists. And the art in the gallery is hawaiian stufffor tourists, but also other kinds of art which is refreshing. Because I feel like in this gallery artists can really express themselves

Ashley, and the gallery she fosters into existence is a beacon of artistic freedom and expression in the overwhelmingly creative, yet under supported Hilo art and expression community.With out people like her and galleries such as this there will be no place for a polarized people such as we are in this day and age to come together and appreciate true non biased art as it was intended to be.This community need more places like this not less.

If you'd like to take a break from galleries selling vapid island-themed decor to tourists, and would like to see some inspired evocative art by exciting local artists, then this is where you should go. Grab a drink at the tavern and check out the ever-changing collection. Every month there's a new featured artist, and the owner Ashley knows the local art scene like no other. This is a "don't miss" destination for any night out in Hilo town.

Soooooo.....I had a blast because I had a great time visiting with my old time friends but Ashley's gallery was the highlight. While enjoying drinks you can cruz and check out art...! You'll find the best souvenirs here too!!
