So few registers open the lines stretch half way across the store. Don't get me started on how if you buy milk in the store it's much more expensive than if you have them bring it to your car, and they won't price match their own advertised price. If it isn't criminal it should be.

I went to Safeway yesterday and tried to purchase a digital coupon of Beef chuck ribs for $4.97 a pound, but they were all out, I asked for a rain check, but was told "No rain check on this item." The coupon doesn't say limited supply, poor customer service!

Store manager don't know what he's doing. Self check out and only 4 cashier. Why do they have all the check out line when they know when they are going to be busy. Had to wait for a half hour and my icecream melted.

Disabled folks beware! Yesterday the motorized cart I was using was confiscated by Safeway staff halfway through bagging in the self check out because I was too slow and standing (I'm unable to lift filled grocery bags or twist my body from a sitting position.) I was informed another customer was waiting for the cart and when I was through bagging a staff member would "assist me" by pushing a regular cart to my vehicle. Apparently, because I could stand it was assumed I was (1) able to walk to the parking lot (I'm not) and (2) had a car (being on prescription pain meds I'm not able to drive currently.) Seeing my response (dismay and tearing up) the staff member decided it was a good time to laugh and joke about my not liking onions. Perhaps I should have presented a doctor's note verifying my need need to use the motorized cart or explained beforehand the need to stand while bagging groceries. It never occurred to me the cart would be taken away while I still needed it or without asking me if I could manage without it. It's called detrimental reliance. Or perhaps a little education is needed regarding making assumptions about disabilities or the inappropriateness of laughing at a customer's distress.

I was at Safeway tonight. I was about to purchase two fresh sandwiches from the deli department... when I noticed the grey haired gentleman who used the men's room, didn't wash his hands...go behind the counter to make sandwiches etc

While leaving yesterday, I was stopped by KIMBER, an employee accusing me of shoplifting!! I had just shoved my receipt back in my bag, frustrated, as I didn't receive all my discounts (a whole other story). She yelled out "I SAW THAT!! WHAT DID YOU JUST PUT IN YOUR BAG!! LEMME SEE!!" Customers stopped to watch, one even began recording on her phone! I was humiliated and went to the manager with KIMBER. Once we saw the manager, KIMBER blatantly lies and says she didn't accuse me of stealing!! Ariel, a manager, sends KIMBER back on the floor without repercussions. The Store manager, Chris B, took me outside and said that he would be upset as well if it happened to him and that he would understand if I never wanted to come back!! Wow! Filed complaint with BBB and Albertsons / Safeway corporate.

Kierdan! You da man! I interrupted you while you were setting out berries and asked if there were any more seedless red grapes. There was only 1 package left on the produce floor. You said you'd go back and check, and to give you 3 minutes. You were back in under 2 -- I timed you! -- with a beautiful box of packaged red grapes and told me to take my pick! Thank you for going above and beyond! I nominate you, Kierdan, for Safeway's Employee of the Year 2023!

Can't even order a thanksgiving dinner. Because the Hilo Safeway are only allow so much. So I ask the employee. Maybe you can take the sign. Since you can take anymore order. He said. I don't get pay enough to take it down. No more aloha!

Mel went above and beyond making sure all my coupons were properly clipped at check out and took the time to review each thing so I could get the best savings. Hugely appreciated getting that kind of customer service from her. Thank you Mel!!

Overall Safeway is good. We have shopped there for many years. But today in the floral department. Where we buy flowers regularly, we had a bad experience with one of the workers. The flowers we needed were half dead but it was the only one left. We asked for a discount and she said no because the vendor will give her full credit. Regardless she should have been more customer service oriented. We bought the flower full price although half dead. We learned our lesson. Never buy flowers from Safeway again. This happened 8/22/2023 at about 5:15pm. There was three workers there that day but the one who was not friendly was the older woman.
