“Have had excellent experience - staff were extremely professional, courteous and very helpful. One obeservation - maybe please hire more people because the line gets really long and if all counters are manned maybe faster service.. apart from that excellent experience. Thank you.”
“We've been receiving our mail at this location for 6 years. We are so grateful for the hardworking employees who have continually "delivered" more than just the mail. We experience outstanding service from these girls every time we visit.”
“FYI all HPP residents- FREE: if you are paying for a Post Office Box, you're on a waiting list for a Box in HPP (or not) then your Keaau PO Box should be free of charge. ASK as they won't tell you this info otherwise. Good luck.”
“They're awesome, I really do like the people who work there. The job is not easy, but they still smile. It's not always perfect, but what is? I get my mail, they know my name, and we smile. There's a lot of Aloha in that small business.”
“This is a beautiful historic building that's still a functioning post office. It's iconic, it's been in many television shows and movies so it might strike you as familiar when you visit. I do recommend a visit, it's also the Federal Building. It was designed by architect Henry Whitfield (Dale Carnegie's brother in law) in 1915 near the very beginning of U.S. postal service on the islands. Maybe the USPS is one positive in an ocean of colonial oppression. It was one of the first reinforced concrete buildings on this island (local architecture used less permanent materials)/ The grounds are lovely using lava rock for walls and local plants for decoration. The tall palms were planted by the American Legion after WWI to honor Hawai'ian citizens who perished in that war. I got stamps here to put on postcards, but I'll bet hardly anyone reading this knows what that means.”
