“10/10 experience! Keli‘i, the owner, is the reason so many people keep coming back. My boyfriend visited his shop back in September and made it clear we had to stop by once I finally made it to Hilo—and I’m so glad we did. The shop is full of fun, unique trinkets, hand curated by Keli‘i himself. He knows the story behind every single one. When we visited, he was hand weaving bracelets and making leis right there in the shop—you could really see the care and effort he puts into his artistry and into creating such a welcoming space. Nothing compares to the hospitality you’ll receive from this warm and generous Hawaiian native. His passion and knowledge make the experience unforgettable. I can’t recommend this place enough—it’s an absolute must stop when you’re in Hilo! I already can’t wait to go back and visit again when we return to the island.”

“It’s always a pleasure to go into Kay’s Jewelry store at the Mall in Hilo From the manager to all other employees. They treat you like your family, greet you by name (if you’re known to them) they order in special pieces or stones to look at and help you make great decisions. I love how they keep great notes on items you have looked at and ask what exactly you’re looking for. Then they help you find it. They clean jewelry on site my diamonds always look amazing after they clean them. They are amazing at keeping in contact with you while you’re waiting for a ring to be repaired or resized. I love my local Kay’s jewelry store , attached photo shows my beautiful gold and emerald matching set of Chinese year of the snake ? it’s a beautiful collection”

“Great place to get a fair price on items. Time is taken to research and evaluate the fair cost while at the same time they offer fishing reels, guitars, power tools for sale”

“I love shopping for gemstone beads at Kaula Art and Beads. There are also other crystals and jewelry items, as well as a great selection of vintage/used aloha attire. The owner is a kind and pleasant person who makes your shopping experience a positive one each time you visit. I enjoy "talking story" with her as I look through the beads and crystals around the store. If you're into beads, crafts, crystals, or vintage aloha attire, check out this store in the heart of Downtown Hilo.”

“Jelena is the owner. 30 year resident of Hilo and a Licensed Realtor. She is super creative artist her self. In fact the day before we met her she was in Kona learning how to weave fish traps. She is a weaver her self. A true artist at heart. As a local native Hawaiian my self (Oahu) I was happy to find a shop supporting local artist and our Hilo community. No made in China stuff here. If you want a tiki bar stuff (btw that theme is not Hawaiian and was invented in California in the 40’s and 50’s) or the Life is. Beach signs go to Target or Pei One but if you want art made by local artist go visit Banyan Gallery. They take electronic payments and ship bigger items. Located right next to Hilo Hawaiian Hotel Grand Naniloa (Double Tree) Hotel. And next to Liliuokalani Park right on Hilo Bay. Walk the park to get your steps in. So if you want true local art by local artist to create beautiful memories of your visit while sitting in your living room back home in the dead of winter - this is the place to bring back a heart warming piece of Aloha!”

“On September 16th, when my husband's six siblings and I went sightseeing in Hilo, we happened to meet Asako, who worked at the store, and we looked into the store. It's a very nice shop with a great sense of style, stocking items such as hats and quilts that the owner has carefully selected and can only be found in Hawaii. Be sure to stop by when you go to Hilo. Asako-san, thank you for your kindness ??”

“I am in the process of ordering a customized necklace, and i’m picking it up on Tuesday. I’m already rating it now because I can tell just by all the other Jewelry's, that this one is going to be super special. Anela is so sweet, and friendly. She makes you feel like her shop is home and your free to try on and touch anything. I can just tell she takes her time in everything she does and I love her business. Now, Bangles are one of my most favorite things in the world and her bangles are ONLY $10.00!! Most bangles I see nowadays are super, super expensive, but at Anela’s Jade you literally get the same quality as the expensive ones. They are beautifully created and I can tell everything she makes is all made with love and aloha. Even my brother broke is Hook necklace and we sent it into Anela’s Jade and she fixed it right up!All in all, I would definitely recommend even if you are just visiting, to go check out Anela’s Jade for some jewelry. And then you will definitely get what i’m saying right here. I would totally come back for more jewelry in the future. Thank you Anela for the great experience and I can’t wait to pick up my necklace on Tuesday!”

“Great shop with lots of items which can be a souvenir, they are importers at the same time they do sell local stuff for a great price. There is a farmers market just opposite to this shop where local vendors sell the same items at more than double the cost of this shop. Its a huge shop which has lots of items from small magnets to eatables, dresses, home decor, signs and much more. Better to buy here than in Kona. If you want to buy a souvenir or something to have as a keepsake or anything Hawaiian, this is the place.”

“I ordered the custom pyrography platter from this wonderful business. I have long since admired similar works often found in hotels and store since I was a teen. I have been to the islands many times and owning such a work has long been a dream of mine. What can I say the platter is absolutely stunning and much loved. It also arrived carefully packaged so as not to cause any damage. I would recommend this business to anyone seeking out a lovely piece of art whether from home or visiting the islands. I was not on the right island when last I visited, but next time I am I look forward to visiting in person.”

“We have made it a tradition to shop at this store every year for birthday and Christmas gifts. The owner has always been helpful and polite, and when mom is there with her sweet little dog it’s an added bonus! Guess we might be able to save a few bucks at a big box store, but it wouldn’t be as good service and we like to shop local.”
