I wanted to get my car looked over by a mechanic in Hilo. I called and spoke to Jeff directly. He was patient and thorough, making sure I got to ask all my questions. I appreciate that since I generally have a list of questions with things like this. He addressed all of my questions. He told me to bring my list of questions and concerns with my car when I brought it in. I was able to get an appointment within one or two business days.
When I took my car in, Jeff spent a lot of time with me discussing my list. I appreciated this too. After that, he gave me a price quote. The inspection ended up taking about an hour longer than planned because they wanted to take a closer look at some things. Even so, they stuck with their original quoted amount, which I respect and appreciate.
When it was all done, Jeff again talked to me to make sure I understood what they had found and the next steps. No immediate needs for repair, just stuff to be aware of down the road.
Overall, I'd say this shop is honest, trustworthy, and competent. I recommend them.

We took our Subaru Forester to JP Auto after the engine sounded like it blew up on the way to Hilo from Kona. We'd read other reviews and were hopeful we'd be in good hands, and most importantly, not feel like we were getting scammed out of money. JP Auto went above and beyond in diagnosing our car and answering all of our questions. Their customer service was amazing and their pricing was even better! I will return to their shop and/or recommend them to anyone without hesitation! Thank you!!!

The only place I will take any car I own in the future. Super kind, caring customer service. From the time you make your appointment to the time of check out, you feel appreciated for your business. Jeff clearly explains what is the best method and most cost effective to repair your automobile. You feel confident the work is solid. Everyone working there sharing good vibe. Highly recommend.

Fixed my car problem and was friendly. They’re not open on weekends though so if you leave your car with them on Friday you’re not going to get it any sooner than Monday.
