I'm so happy to have finally found a wonderful mechanic that I trust! T and his crew are great and have helped me with several of my cars now. I have also rented a car from him and had a perfect experience. I highly recommended him to all my friends and wouldn't go anywhere else!

First off I like to say the guys down at this shop really know what their doing they are reliable their fast and friendly and really knowledgeable my car had lots going on check engine light was on breaks had to be changed one day they fixed me right up T ,Beau & kana great guys

October 5th, 2018: My cars power steering decided to go out and everywhere was busy....it was a Friday of course. Auto solutions weren't busy, got put down on the schedule for 1pm. Had him thoroughly look over my vehicle if there are any more power steering leaks etc. Parts were on order over the weekend so of course my car had to spend a few nights at the car hospital. Long story short, got my car back today (October 9th, 2018) and it feels like new again. Happy with their service and also happy they were super helpful with telling me what else was wrong with my vehicle. Will be back again!! Recommend you getting the parts prior to having it fixed...saves money and time!!

Actually, we found Elite's customer service WONDERFUL and most friendly. We rented a car for a week for daughter to use while visiting and the pick up went without a hitch, the car ran great and drop off couldn't have been easier. Folks who own business were most helpful to us and we would use again!

Actually, we found Elite's customer service WONDERFUL and most friendly. I have a similar story to tell from the other one-starred reporters. I called from the mailand and got an enthuastic response from the woman on the line. She said she would rent her own vehicle to me and I was very suprised and pleased. I prepaid for the seven weeks I was staying in Hilo. When I got there, the story changed. Instead of her car, she gave me a Ford Taurus. It had AC and it ran. Unfortunately, several days later, a blind, old man t-boned us with his very large car. It was absolutely not my fault. We called the company and they told me they didn't have any cars available even though I prepaid. I got the feeling they blamed me for the accident. I was carless for about three days. The "friendly" woman who I originally spoke became unfriendly and if she felt like it, returned calls. Most of the time the office wasn't open when I went there. They told me there was a car coming from Kailua, but when I got there, they gave me another car than the one they promised. (Sound familiar?) It had been turned in by another renter because there were parts that weren't working. Lucky me. This one had no working AC and would shudder, shake and die at stop signs. People were honking at me. I went in once again and found out I had to turn off the AC or it would die on me. It was a very long time on the island without AC. I didn't know I could get that hot. I am truly surprised they are still in business. I have waited until now to write the review because I found another better alternative and it's not Tony's.

We rented a car last January from island rental for our 6 day trip to the big island. We went through 3 cars in the first 4 days. It is a real bummer siting on the side of the raod broken down on vacation but that is the risk you take with discount places because they will do nothing for you no matter how many times you break down and waste half your day waiting for them to come pick you up. When we called for the 3rd time of breaking down and tied to dipute our rate. We also mention that we were leaving in two days and when we told them that we fly out at 8 am they said"park at the airport and leave 5 dollars under the floor mat to pay for the parking" When we originally booked out reservation there was no mention of such charge. We are looking for rental cars as we are heaed back to the island right now and i came across island discount i knew i had to write a review. I would never use them again.

CHOOSE ANOTHER RENTAL COMPANY!!!!
My Reservation details were changed less than 48 hours before I was scheduled to pick up my vehicle. They decided to change the drop off location (to the opposite side of the island) without my consent, despite the fact that I had a detailed confirmation with the original drop off. Not to mention I had put down a deposit to reserve the vehicle.

Ken, I wasn't gonna do this, but your Hilo manager actually swore at me [SHE said the F word twice]. Not the end of the world. I'm a grown man. But from a business owner to another, it was not the customer service I'd expect freshly landing on the island. That *your* system did not properly process my payment is not my fault. I have no fault in any of this. Ken, you were a gentlemen. But your Hilo manager was, hmmm... unclassy... snappy... to say the least. I wish you guys just focused on my situation; being on the island without a car, rather than just blaming it on a payment system, repeatedly. A system that I certainly have nothing to do with. If you are going to book from these guys, call and confirm, twice. Good luck.

Car wasn't new, but it was damn reliable. We got what we paid for and we didn't get hassled. Ken's a good guy. Straight shooter. I'm calling him up tomorrow to rent a car for the day.
