Made an appointment. Got an email that said confirmed and they told me they tired to reach me to confirm my appointment so I came over there for nothing . Lady was rude and obviously could not handle her job she was very frantic.

The worst experience possible. I don't have enough space to describe the tax hell I experienced with H&R Block in Hilo, but here is a list.
1. Horrible communication
2. Uncaring workers
3. Unprofessional advice, costing me lots of money
4. Delay Delay Delay with no return calls
5. They misrepresented information to me
6. No apology, no recognition of the inconvenience or loss of money.

This year was my first and last experience with H&R Block. Prior to getting married, my wife said she always had a good experience with a local H&R Block rep. So, I began trying to contact the same rep in early April - leaving voicemail messages that were not returned. Next, I went directly to their office to find out if I would need an appointment to begin the process. I met with the same rep that had previously prepared my wife's taxes. The rep confirmed that she would prepare our taxes. I let her know I had all my tax papers digitized and could send them to her from our home. She stated that would be very helpful. I returned to our house and sent all documents relating to our taxes. The H&R tax rep responded to my email, by saying 'TY'. That was the last time we ever communicated. After several weeks passed, I sent more email messages, asking if there was any progress toward completion. With no replies to my email messages, I began trying to phone her, many times. The local office has an answering machine (no one ever answers the phone). Again, I left multiple messages, requesting a return phone call - none of my calls were returned. I escalated my concerns several times, within H&R management. I was eventually issued a Case Number. I was assured that someone would investigate our concerns and that someone would call me back within 3 to 5 days - again, no one responded. My wife has the personal cell phone number of the same person H&R rep and tried calling her - but no one answers that phone either. Today, (July 6) more than 3 months since I first tried to communicate with our H&R rep, I spent more than an hour speaking with four different H&R reps. I was told that we did not even have an account with H&R Block. The H&R managers could not even confirm if our local rep was still working for the company. If H&R Block cannot manage simple communications, I am not willing to entrust them with completing our taxes.

I was late filing my out-of-state taxes and my federal taxes and was worried about my situation. H&R Block Professionals reassured me that they would get me through this process. I had considered TurboTax and filing my own taxes but as saying goes, "penny wise, pound foolish". Luckily I had some "common cents" wisdom and trusted the Pros @ H&R Block.
