February 20,2024 My Husband I went to Home Depot in Hilo, were we greeted and helped by Michelle B. she was patient, professional, knowledgeable, helpful and had a great attitude she listened to what we needed and got it done quickly. employees like her makes us enjoy coming to Home Depot Thank you again Simeona's

They told me one could turn into a week on rented equipment, then downgraded me and double charged me for the privilege. Management does not follow through... ?Management did follow through 4 months later and took care of everything so i added some stars.

Worst Home Depot that I have visited in 7 states. Poor customer service. Most isles regularly blocked by staff or displays. Main doors are "permanently" closed, so you have to take loads through the small doors. To many negative to list.

Deserving of 3.5 stars, will add bonus half star because it's on an island, and I'm sure that limits availability.We come out every few months to visit family. I was in charge of building a Chiskshaw while I was out here for this trip.I'm certain there isn't a better hardware store in the vicinity. I'm am definitely a Home Depot fan. I will drive past several Lowes, or Ace to get to a HD if there's one around.But, and a big but, supplies are obviously limited. This will (expectedly) not have everything you're going to find on the mainland.The lack of stars, however, was NOT because of the limited resources. That part is understandable. The lack of stars is from the uneducated and mostly helpless employees.I loitered around the lumber area for an hour or more trying to get info on supplies needed. Some HD's will allow you to rip lumber. I asked one employee if they did here, and was told yes, and to wait by the saw and she would send someone over.Fifteen minutes later, without seeing any other employees in the vicinity, a different employee walked over with another customer. I asked if he could rip some lumber for me. I watched as he loaded the lumber, took out his trusty tape, and measured the length of the board and marked the middle. SMH.I advised i needed it ripped, not cut in half. "Yeah. We can't do that"..........I was able to find most of the stuff needed for the chickshaw, but luckily I'm handy and can make what I need that they didn't have in store.

HIGHLY recommend. The ALOHA vibe is strong here. Store is very clean and well organized but it's the employees that make this location stand out for me. Kind, helpful, EXTREMELY PATIENT. From the time I walk through the door until I leave, the employees are constantly buzzing about doing their daily duties but are never too busy to stop and ask customers if they need assistance. The care that goes into listening to the customer and taking the time to help is so rare these days. Home Depot in Hilo, HI has this ALOHA SPIRIT deep in their roots. This is the way. ??

Awful customer service. They don't know what "pallets" are. Let me repeat that: customer service asked me, to my face, "What is a pallet?"Good Lord. HI and it's population have a massive dearth of critical intelligence.

New Management, Sunday Staff or I just had a bad day??? This was the worst experience I have had as this Home Depot in years. I am a contractor and a Pro Elite member. I only use the online ordering process when I have a big order that I want to have put all together so I can have it brought to me on a cart from in back somewhere or the more recent experience where I met someone at the loading area with a cart. I ordered 4 windows and a door. First, when I went to customer service with the big sign "Order Pickup", I was told I was in the wrong location, but he let me stay. There wasn't anyone at the "Right Location" anyway. Then when I give him my order he walks into the storage area and comes back 5 minutes later carrying the door... I asked him where was a cart and he said we don't have room to put things on carts here? I am thinking, why did I order online if I have to cart everything myself. I asked him to get a manager because I was pissed. So I had to go outside across the parking lot and find the right cart, which is never easy. Then he goes out and gets another cart. I then load up the cart myself, he loads up a second cart, and again I ask to talk to a manager. He finally calls her (I think) and she does not want to come to customer service. I can hear them arguing about her coming down and she obviously can't be bothered. Finally I said forget it and told them I was leaving. If she wasn't interested in coming to the desk then she wasn't interested in my opinion. Both the manager that day (Sunday) and the customer service guy are in the wrong jobs. I go to this HD multiple times during the week and the customer service staff are usually rock stars. Hopefully this is not a symptom of a larger problem like the other bad decision of locking the contractor entrance, time will tell.

I like this location. I asked two different people where something was and they knew exactly where it was. One lady walked me a few aisles away to the product. I asked a third person a question and knew the answer immediately.

We went in to look for leftover Christmas decorations. We ended up not finding any, but the guy that helped us out was so kind and tried to help us. He walked us around the very clean store to try and help and informed us that they didn't have any, but he also went above and beyond to look up other locations and called the stores to make sure. The parking lot was very busy and crowded so be careful when using it!

Don't call home depot and expect service over the phone, the girl answers with a plane soft spoken hello as if I'm waking her from a nap and no matter which department u ask for the phone disconnects so I call back, same answer and as I ask fir a manager she replies with "well I don't know what a manager is gonna do for you" and hangs up again

Everyone at Home Depot Hilo is always so helpful and considerate. I frequent the store weekly for maintenance on my air BNB and DIY PROJECTS .
