“Once in Hilo is a moderately upscale boutique with hand-made silk blouses, art crafts like koa wood pepper mills and wine stoppers, hand made (hilarious) Filthy Soaps, dish towels, jewelry and huge giant tikis. The tikis are for sale for either 9K or 10K (I forget) but they don't ship them for good reason. If you want those tikis, you gotta show up with your crew and have the help of several men to lift those gorgeous hunks of wood. Tiki carving is becoming a lost art. The lady in the store was super nice and friendly, attentive and gave a lot of history for each item I was interested in but I ended up not buying anything due to being on a budget, otherwise I would have bought that cool steampunk-looking pepper grinder for $125.00, or the amazingly awesome Tidepool Koa Wood Table for $2,650.00.”

It's a very nice shop with a great sense of style, stocking items such as hats and quilts that the owner has carefully selected and can only be found in Hawaii. Be sure to stop by when you go to Hilo. Asako-san, thank you for your kindness ??”
“We purchased a sofa at Paradise Plants in Hilo, but our home is on Oahu. We just loved this couch, it was different and very much island style. Paradise Plants did an amazing job wrapping it up and took it to young brothers for a minimal fee. We received the couch in perfect condition and they were very very helpful making it easy for us to purchase it. I highly recommend Paradise Plants and when we return to Hilo we plan on visiting them again. Shout out to Shannon and Vickey.”

944 Kinoole St, Hilo“Went to Home World Furniture and was greeted immediately by an associate. We were asked what we were looking for and shown several options to choose from. At no time did either of us feel pressured to make a purchase. It was a very pleasant experience. The associate, went as far to make sure we got the best price availabl, gave us a list of all furniture stores who carried the same item we were interested in. The associate suggested that we go home with the list and check the other stores out before making our decision. We did just that but didn't get the same treatment as we did at Home World in Hillo nor did they have the same amount of inventory either. I was surprised how we were pressured to make an immediate choice and make a purchase at the competing stores. In the long run we decided to go back to Home world and make our purchase. If, in the future we find the need to buy more furniture we will go to Home World. We will tell family and friends about Home World when they are looking for furniture too.”

They offer an impressive selection of high-end items, making it a go-to destination for those seeking unique and premium quality products. The range of crystals available is simply mesmerizing, and it's a haven for collectors and spiritual seekers. Additionally, the souvenir options provide a wonderful way to take a piece of Hilo's charm home with you.”
“My husband and I visited this tiny gem just before Merrie Monarch. I was hoping to find a nice Hawaiian dress to remember our time in Hilo, and I found one! As we were leaving the store, the owner gave me a fragrant flower lei he was making. I was very much moved by this gesture and it's one of my favorite memories from our trip. Mahalo nui.”
