I am totally content with the care I am getting with Dr. Kapono and Nicole (Dr. Kaponoʻs nurse). She listens to me and I never leave her office without getting complete answeres. She never hesitates to get me referrals, so I never have a hassle. She takes her time in the office when I visit and I never feel rushed. I can usually get an appointment in a few days if I need to see her, which is a great bonus. Knowing how hard they works, it is a credit to her and her staff that they are able to give such great service. Nicole is wonderful, always there for me and the I always get a call back. I feel lucky to have found them both.

Dr Kapono is awesome! She listens, is pro-active, doesn't rush your appt, and even calls you herself for follow ups!!

Dr. Kurohara has been in the community for years and is a kind, caring doctor. He has always helped the community in many ways than one. He has brought on Dr. Olivia Kapono and a APRN which do not complement his style. Dr. Kapono although she is an alright doctor, she does not go above and beyond for her patients. She says she will call you, but takes months in doing so. She says her nurse will call you, again it takes months and when the nurse calls she seems like she is annoyed and irritated at you. APRN is not experienced and you can tell. She gives you whatever you want. I hope that these two take lessons from Dr. Kurohara.

My husband and I feel lucky to have found Dr. Olivia Kapono as our primary care provider. She is very thorough and has a great bedside manner. She listens and genuinely cares about her patients' welfare. She has not hesitated to refer us to a specialist when needed, and has also called us at home after hours to follow up on an issue. We could not ask for better service from a physician.

Hawaii Island Healthcare has provided me with great care. I feel their staff is committed to my needs and is helpful with all my questions/concerns. I've had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Kurohara and Dr. Kapono who I recommend to friends and family.I think it's also worth noting that they take precaution and have safety measures in place due to COVID-19, which I appreciate.

At 66 years old – Dr. Kurohara is the best doctor I’ve ever experienced. I’m very grateful to have this doctor as my primary care provider. He’s very focused and sincere at resolving problems of his patients. His staff is very professional and friendly. If you’re lucky enough to have Dr. Kurohara as your doctor, you’re in good hands.
