It's like stepping into a welcoming ohana atmosphere. Whether I'm browsing or need assistance, they're always ready to lend a hand with a smile. it's what keeps me coming back!”
“Beautiful unique clothes with an elegant Island vibe and some Japanese inspiration and handcraft. Not tacky, good quality, honest and well made. Some pieces are a bit pricier but it’s worth the money.”
“Went in there just to check it out, it was nice, a lot of cool things, Mary was working and she was super helpful and sweet. Unique gifts for yourself or others. Bought a couple things, prices right, no heavy inflation. Highly recommend.”
“I love this place the prices are reasonable and the stuff is awsome thank you to the lady did not get her name but helped me get a new purse there and she was very friendly and very helpful to all my needs thank you Ross”
“Once in Hilo is a moderately upscale boutique with hand-made silk blouses, art crafts like koa wood pepper mills and wine stoppers, hand made (hilarious) Filthy Soaps, dish towels, jewelry and huge giant tikis. The tikis are for sale for either 9K or 10K (I forget) but they don't ship them for good reason. If you want those tikis, you gotta show up with your crew and have the help of several men to lift those gorgeous hunks of wood. Tiki carving is becoming a lost art. The lady in the store was super nice and friendly, attentive and gave a lot of history for each item I was interested in but I ended up not buying anything due to being on a budget, otherwise I would have bought that cool steampunk-looking pepper grinder for $125.00, or the amazingly awesome Tidepool Koa Wood Table for $2,650.00.”
“Came to the store during the Christmas 2023 holidays and got an adorable dress with mermaids that had pockets and an adorable lounging around the house set. I live in Metro Atlanta so the fabric is absolutely perfect for a hot humid day here. Just ordered some more things today because we're on the heels of hot weather here. Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful product ?”
“Just bought two tops at this locally owned store and they are just beautiful. I love the prints and the styles and the owner was very kind and helpful with fitting.”

“Although the store is low on merchandise sometimes, especially for my Fandom, the employees, especially Katie, are SO, SO. Fantastic, she tries to find the merch you're looking for online, and if she can't find it, she has really great recommendations for other items!”
“On a recent trip, I stopped by the Hilo's Farmers Market. Our group was lucky enough to find the table space that sold these wonderful T-Shirts and tank tops. All in total I think our group purchased 4 beautiful tops. Each one with its wonderfully unique design. The shirts are locally designed and printed right there is Hilo. With wonderful meanings behind each and every design. I wore the seahorse t shirt I purchased on my last day in Hawaii and at least 20 + people complemented me on the shirt and asked where I purchased it. It is exactly the type of meaningful, unique, and beautiful shirt I wanted to find. It was great to talk to the creators very proud mother too!”
“My favorite shop in Hilo for souvenirs, cute t-shirt's and Aloha wear. Great selection of items and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Joy's is a wonderful shop! Check it out.”
“Extremely grateful that I stumbled upon this place months prior to today. I was looking around for some last minute gifts for a friend that came to town over from the mainland and needed an emergency last-minute scramble to find “cutesy” little trinkets and gifts. Mahalo nui to both the store and Kristy (I believe that was her name) for helping me out and giving me suggestions, as well as conversing with me throughout my shopping experience!”

220 Kamehameha Ave, Hilo“This shop is THE place to go when you're in the market for any sort of Hawaiian clothing, accessories or souvenirs (particularly the first two). They have an uncountable number of dresses and shirts for all sizes and genders, and it's easy to find a matching set (dress for her, shirt for me) with identical prints, as my wife insisted on purchasing before attending a luau the following night. And the prices are surprisingly reasonable, with a adult dress, adult shirt, and toddler shirt/shorts combo (for our little one on the way!) ringing up around $70 bucks! It's easy to support this local, family-owned establishment, thanks to its incredible selection and affordable prices. Mahalo!”
“I went to the Hilo store today, and I just gotta say: The staff here are really fun, nice, and helpful. They made my partner and I feel so welcomed. This is a great place to shop, and a very well cared for location! Mahalo for keeping it fun! Can't wait to go back.”
