Roland was awesome. Met with him prior to him working on me. He asked questions as to what I was looking to do and he created a piece specific to me and my story. Love the final product and Roland was not only a great artist but an awesome dude.

In regards to the one star review left by Patrick D. there is much more to the story. First, this tattoo was done 6+ years ago and I thought we had already resolved this. I have done extensive work on Patrick and thought we had a good relationship. I guess I was wrong. He asked if I would tattoo his then girlfriend and after we discussed what she wanted, I agreed. She wanted to cover up a tattoo that had not healed well in the same area. I noticed that she had sensitive skin and told her as much. I said that the healing process would have to be adhered to in the strictest sense in order for the tattoo to heal properly. About a month after the tattoo, I was contacted by her and she sent me pictures of the tattoo as it was then. It did not look like she had done her due diligence during the healing process. She kept blowing up my phone, sending me pictures and screaming texts. When I spoke with her I asked if she had followed my instructions and she said she had but further conversations revealed that she had exposed it to the sun before it healed. I told her to immediately get in to a doctor. I haven't heard from either of them for years and find it curious that this review got made such a long time after? I do everything that I can to ensure that my clients are satisfied with my work and understand the importance of the healing process.

I used to have a ton of respect for Roland, as he's done a couple of pieces on me. It was actually an honor to have a piece done by an Ink Master contestant, or so I thought? I naturally assumed it would be a great idea to have my wife to set up an appointment with him to get a tribute piece done for her recently deceased grandmother. It proved to be a rather costly mistake. First, he was heavy handed and caused my wife a great deal of pain, which resulted in moderate scarring (refer to photos) on her shoulder and trap area. FYI, he charged my wife $600 dollars for this incomplete piece. Second, his ink selection caused my wife to experience an two year allergic reaction. Yes, I said two years!!! My wife's body began attacking all the red ink on her body, not just at the recent tattoo site. Her body began purging and scarring tattoos w/ red ink that were already healed. After visiting the emergency room, and a couple of trips to a dermatologist. The health professionals told her that the reaction had to run it's course (two years). Steroid cream and other medications helped her cope with the gnawing pain. I contacted Roland at first to let him in on what was happening. Initially, he acted concerned, but he stopped responding to my phone calls and texts after he thought he was out of the woods. True Story. Third, one would think that an owner of a reputable tattoo shop would stand by his work. Try to make it right, especially after something like this. He had plenty of opportunities, but he let this one go by ignoring it. Now, my wife has to live with this permanent & extremely embarrassing reminder of his poor workmanship. She is still upset that he ruined her shoulder. I used to recommend Roland to all my friends, but now I steer them away from him. It's a shame that he ruined more than just my wife's shoulder.

The tattoo shop is amazing! Roland did a great... No, Roland did an AMAZING job on my first tattoo! I really appreciate how he wanted to know why I was getting a tattoo and what my interests were and basically wanted to know who I was. He wanted to make sure I was getting something with a purpose. I got a tattoo on my right calf of a Sea Turtle and he explained to me his style of Polynesian style tattooing and what the symbols he was going to implement into the art meant. Great guy, amazing artist! When I'm ready for another tattoo Roland is the guy to do it!

I just received my first tattoo from Roland, and it was an amazing experience. We talked at length to figure out the specifics that I wanted my piece to say and what was important to me. On the day of, he was extremely considerate of the fact that it was my first and that it was in an area that was very sensitive. I will never go to anyone else for a tattoo on the Big Island. Mahalo!

My wife and I made are first trip to Hawaii and I was planning on getting a tattoo while we were there. I stopped in a few tattoo shops that were not very appealing until we stopped in Xisle Custom Tattoo. The owner/artist Roland Pacheco was very professional and really made you feel very comfortable. I explained to Roland what I wanted and he came up with a fantastic tattoo that I could not be happier with and proud to show everyone. If you plan on getting a tattoo when in Hawaii make the trip to Hawi to Xisle Custom tattoo. Roland is a true professional and very fine person.
