Kaimana Shave Ice
66519 Kamehameha Hwy, HaleiwaI have lived 65 years in Hawaii and I find myself going to Haleiwa time and time again. While there I stop in the old marketplace and have a good meal in one of the half dozen lunchwagons and then I top it off with a delicious shave ice from the Kaimana Shave Ice Shop. Do your self a favor and do likewise. Incidentally, I favor the Big Wave shrimp wagon for it’s delightful offerings.

Matsumoto Shave Ice
66-111 Kamehameha Hwy #605, HaleiwaWe've been here before and had to go again just to see if it was really as good as we originally thought. Verdict, yes it is and then some. The cost is reasonable as well and was about 45 minutes to get to from Honolulu. We tried shaved ice with the ice cream, condensed milk, three flavors and the azuki beans, the whole thing and it was wonderful and delicious! We did the touristy thing and also bought shirts and souvenirs at their store. To us, this is well worth visiting and there is ample parking int he back parking lot. Some of the staff also gave us a lunch suggestion as well, which turned out to be a great burger place. Thanks Matsumoto's!
