The fastest way to charge a Tesla but with more EV mfg adopting the NACS vs CCS even more reason to build more superchargers in Hawai'i. The biggest gripe is there is not enough superchargers per capita considering the plethora of Tesla's on Oahu! I don't think the EV range anxiety is an issue for Hawai'i. But the charging anxiety is real. Hawai'i needs to double down on the infrastructure installations and should mandate developers mandate charging areas for all new apt, condo's and solar and chargers for homes in sun belt areas. Or there will be a serious problem. The state should negotiate with Debartlo who built Ka Makana Ali'i to do a public private partnership with them to take advantage of that open parking lot to retrofit solar carports across the mall parking creating shade for shoppers cars and passive solar farm to reduce carbon foot print of the mall! All strip malls on the west end should have solar carport charging like at times shopping center at Waimalu rd.

No matter what time I come here there's never less than 5 cars ahead of me! Thank god my charger is being installed at my house this week! I waited 2hrs just to charge the other day! We need more super chargers on the island!

Waited 2 hours before I could charge. Got there at 9:15PM, didn't leave until after midnight. Probably the worst super charger in America.

First couple of times, no wait. I was beginning to think that the reviews were overblown. Today, a line of three cars and one of the charging stations is down. No sign saying it was out of order, either. Why is this in a ratty mall again when they could have put them around Honolulu?Edit: Was one of the lucky ones. The line behind me grew fierce. I am lucky to have a job where I can work in the car waiting, so not a total waste of time and the three cars moved pretty quickly. Still, two stars because it's 2023 and Teslas aren't this crazy new thing.Edit 2: Waiting for a charger again. First in line, luckily, and probably the last time I'll need to charge before I leave Hawaii. The charging station that was down is still down, albeit with a sign. Something tells me it isn't getting fixed any time soon.I'm lowering this to one star, but only because my Tesla scolded me for going to this charging station, saying "Go to a less busy Supercharger."WHERE?! Maybe if Elon wasn't too busy shooting himself in the foot with Twitter, he could make more here.I also wanna add that it's annoying seeing this one guy walking around his Tesla while it's charging and constantly locking and unlocking it. When there's a long line, stop getting people's hopes up that you're about to leave. Finally, I don't know if this is a universal Tesla problem (I'm driving one for the first time out of curiosity) but the hoses are super short. You have to back up way too close to the parking block for comfort for that hose to reach your charging port.Okay, I got one more complaint. The lack of bathrooms here is ridiculous. You charge before the mall opens and good luck finding an open restroom. Since it's Thanksgiving, the guards got kinda hostile when I entered. It takes like an hour to do this and I charge right after having some coffee. Have a Port a Potty or something.

Charging starion itself is fine, but do not rent a tesla on this island unless you want to spend your vacation worrying about where or how long it will take to change your car. Tesla needs to do better than just one supercharging location on the whole island. Even at around 12 AM, you will more or less end up waiting for half an hour to an hour before you get to a charger.

I just moved to the island and waiting for housing. Normally, I’d just charge at home. But for MANY on this island, especially renters, they need the Supercharger, and the other charging solutions are NOT adequate or plenty.Expect to wait a MINIMUM of 1 hour before getting a charger, and expect speeds of 45-60 kWh rather than the 250 kWh promised because the chargers are all sharing the same source of power. Expect the charging to take another 30-60 minutes.I’m currently typing this in the line, where I’ve waited now 2 hours to charge. I entered the line at 1010 AM, it’s now 1210 PM.

Just a heads up, second day in a row here. Came yesterday to charge, had a 4 hour time window. Pulled up with 16 cars ahead of me. I waited 3 hours with still 4 cars ahead of me, had to leave. Came back today, 24 cars in line. Now 3 and a half ours in with less than 10 miles on the Tesla left, and still number 6 in line.....Do not rent tesla, and please don't hog chargers thar are put throughout public spaces....Our chargers are very limited and disappointing

Absolutely agree -- DO NOT RENT AN ELECTRIC CAR!!! I was there at 0409 on a Tuesday morning and was the fifth car in line... that's in addition to the six already on the chargers. From the times I've been there it has not been uncommon to spend an hour and a half there waiting in line and then charging. There is a small red sign hanging above where you're supposed to line up, however it is small and sometimes cars seem to miss it. From where you need to line up, it is difficult to see the sixth charger unless the driver at that charger signals you that they're finished and the charger is free.

Longest super charger I've ever visited. I used to live on the east coast (Washington DC) and traveled often in my Tesla. Never have I had to wait over an hour just to use a charger. Some days you can find yourself waiting 2+ hours just to start charging

6 superchargers that are in the back of the old Sears. Currently under construction so you have to navigate a maze just to find the area. Plan for at least a 30 minute wait before you can even begin to charge. Hawaii and Tesla, you have failed again. Do better.

Location sketchy during day, can only imagine at night. In a dark corner of a parking structure, homeless people wandering constantly, next to a ditch. In my first two visits (9am, 730am) I've waited 50 minutes and over 30 minutes just to get a spot. Each time I've charged, there has been at least one idling car that was there before I got there, and stayed until after I left. Some people here clearly have no care or worry about others. With such limited charging areas, do better. Also, it's hard to find! Tesla navigation led me to a neighboring parking structure, had to resort to Google maps to find it. Cmon Tesla, you have a dealership here and one supercharger? Smh.If you're renting, plan ahead. Best to go late at night or very early morning to avoid a wait. Just have to be okay with the sketchy area. Risk vs reward lol

Awesome to have a place to charge really fast! 40mins to fully charge with 2% left. But it can be better by having more tesla stations throughout the island. Sometimes there is a line but worth the wait.

DO NOT RENT AN ELECTRIC CAR!It seems like there is a higher concentration of electric vehicles in Hawaii and not enough chargers because no one needs to drive long distances. This supercharger is a perfect example. The only one in Hawaii which results in insanely long lines.I waited for 2 hours just to charge my rented Tesla to 80%

Concurr with most reviews. It is inconceivable that the entire island has this one charging stations with 6 stalls. 250 kw powered but I arrived on a Friday evening at 6 pm and waited for two hours behind 10 Tesla's. Come on so better than this Elon!

While I deeply appreciate the availability of a Tesla Supercharger in Pearl City, it's evident that the needs of the electric vehicle community on Oahu are outstripping the infrastructure in place. With Oahu's population eclipsing 1.5 million and an impressive 20% EV adoption rate from just 2022 alone, the demand for more charging stations is undeniable. The Pearl City Supercharger, boasting only six stalls, remains the sole beacon for Tesla owners across the island. And as much as I'd like to tout its efficiency, my uploaded photos sadly paint a different story. Even at the unlikely hour of 2:48 AM, lines form, signaling a dire need for expansion.Adding to the congestion, Uber and Lyft drivers heavily occupy the stalls, making it clear that commercial use is also putting a strain on this already bustling station. As these platforms shift more towards electric transportation, the urgency for additional infrastructure becomes even more palpable. For perspective, cities like Austin, Texas -- with a population smaller than Honolulu's, let alone Oahu's -- enjoy the luxury of approximately six Supercharger stations. It's baffling to think of the thousands of Tesla owners on Oahu vying for a spot at this singular, overburdened station. To add to the frustration, two proposed additional stations remain a distant hope, lagging a year behind their initial announcement. It's high time for a proactive approach to accommodate Oahu's burgeoning EV community. Our island, our environment, and our future deserve better.
