I must start my review by stating that I am a former hair stylist with over 15 yrs experience in the hair industry as well as managed many Salons.. I also formerly worked for a Fantastic Sam's many years ago.
On Friday August 23rd 2024, I was given one of the worst haircuts of my life. My hair's length is to the end of my back and it is wavy. The Stylist Hara insisted that she cut my hair dry and did a horrible job. Not only did she not take into consideration to do a precise consultation, she literally CHOPPED my hair dry. The back was unbelievably uneven and my face frame did not line up. Hara didn't even spend the time to cross check her work to make sure it was even and looked nice. I'm still in shock that I sat in the chair and let this women do a dry cut fully knowing this was incorrect.. however, I try and let artist express themselves. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a disaster and I learned that day that Hara is a lazy stylist that lacks proper technique, not a hair artist.
I went home and spent 45 minutes fixing the botched haircut I was given. I had to cut an additional three inches of length to get my hair to look even.
What upsets me the most is the fact that Stylist like Hara are the reason Fantastic Sam's get a bad reputation.
As a stylist with years of experience I always honor one rule, that as a stylist, if I cannot give a client a fantastic haircut I do NOT cut the clients hair!
Hara is a stylist that is unprofessional, lazy, and doesn't respect or value a person enough to do a good job.
If you value yourself and want to get a Fantastic haircut I recommend not allowing a lazy stylist like Hara near your hair with a pair of shears. Shame on Hara. As a former manager if I saw a client leave the salon with the horrible haircut I was given, (that looked like a four year old got a hold of a pair of shears, and started randomly cutting chuncks of hair), that stylist would be fired.
PLEASE SEND HARA BACK TO COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL. TEACH HARA TO VALUE AND RESPECT HER CLIENTS.

I went in to get a basic trim because my hair is very long as I sat down I could tell this stylist didn't want to cut my hair she didn't say much. As she was cutting I tried to make conversation and I said I usually do a layered cut but because I'm short on time I'm just doing a basic she said "yeah no layer your hair is to long". I also asked for it to be shampooed ( mind you a cut is supposed to come with a shampoo but they charge an additional which I didn't mind) as soon as I sat in the chair and she started to wash my hair she got water all over my face , all in my ears and I didn't complain because I figure I didn't want to make a scene I just wanted to get it over, as soon as I was done she goes oh I don't blow dry ( so I'm thinking I have to leave here with soaking wet hair) but luckily she just blew dry it enough to not be dripping it was still wet . As soon as I went to pay she tried to charge me with a layered cut , when she specifically told me no layer since my hair is to long) I had told her I didn't ask for a layer I came in just for a trim and shampoo she kept arguing with me and I finally asked for the manager. The manager was nice enough to charge me for what I went in there to get.

If I could give this place a 0, I would. I went here with my mom, she had a hairstylist named Vivian. My mom showed her the hair cut she wanted and Vivian told her she was too old and that hair cut didn't match her. My moms feelings was hurt and she felt embarrassed. As her daughter I am hurt that her experience was like that.

The lady that cut my hair used a brush that had other people's hair on it. Also she told me a price but when I got to the register another lady said the price went up. She should have honored the price if she made a mistake

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. My partner stopped here to cut her hair for her birthday tomorrow. Told the stylist 3 separate times what she wanted and did not produce what she asked for. She cut more than 5 inches off & ruined her bangs. The stylist was laughing with her coworker while my partner was trying to pay for the horrible haircut. Cried leaving the store... Should've never came here with a 2 out of 5 star rating. Lesson learned!!

Anniversary gift from my boyfriend I wanted to cut my Dead split ends and a Partial highlight. Came in as a walk in Amazing taylor gave me exactly what I wanted. Thanks girl i'm coming back.

the stylist are a 50/50. last time i went there the hair stylist didn't even cut my hair that good at ALL i ended up my hair being hella short. the last last time i went there the stylist ended up making my hair hella good.. so just come here when u have good luck cuz you do not wanna end up having short hair before picture day

I usually have to fix my husband's hair after a cut here but just cause they missed a spot on the neck. The first pic was last year Sept with this crazy botched job on my kids head that had to be completely recut. Top left was after a shower. Now my husband is fixing tonight's crooked & uneven cut. They also didn't clean him off well, loose hair everywhere & itching all the way home.

I wanted my daughter to get a shampoo and cut for the first time. And it ended horribly!!! The lady (Lin) cutting her hair and shampooing was so rough my daughter wanted to cry, so I asked her to be more gentle. I wanted to take a video and pictures of my daughter's hair and she got upset saying that she doesn't want to be in the picture.l or the video which I wasn't putting her in any way. But she was paranoid about it. Probably because she was irritated that I asked her to be more gentle... she ended up saying she didn't want to do my daughter's hair anymore and passed ny daughter (7) over to her boss Yong. When I mentioned to Yong that the lady was very rude and being really rough with my daughter's hair, she didn't even seem to care. She just brushed it off and laughed! Supposedly, Yong is the owner of that place. What kind of service is this? Why do you hire people like that? That have no customer service and don't know how to do deal with different age groups! Never will we go back there!!! Yong, If you ever read this, you should train your staff better and have better management skills!

Hana was amazing!! Every couple years (yeah I know I should get a trim more often ...) I chop off my hair. Each time I ask for something low maintenance but cute, and leave it up to the hairdresser--I've always been a bit disappointed except for today! Wow Hana was so good at steering me in a direction but also asking questions about what I wanted or pointing out that I needed some more volume in the front etc. and the hair cut is so different from what I've had before but actually complements my head shape and is CUTE! And doesn't do that weird cowlick thing when I wash it. She was incredibly efficient, didn't try a bunch of fancy stuff or talk herself up or sell me things. And they were able to fit me in immediately, and I quickly got my favorite haircut for less than $40. Definitely found my go-to person and I've been to all kinds of hair places across the country including very pricey ones. Thank you!!

So at this FS, you need to sign in & select your style of cut. I selected “kids haircut” my daughter is 9. It’s about $27. There were other options wit age range from 10& up. We just got about a 5” trim. She asked if we wanted layers, we agreed. After the haircut & ready to pay. I noticed my daughter had short layers & it was barely noticeable.( which was fine because she didn’t want a lot cut off). Fast forward til today when I look at the receipt and it says I was charged for an adult cut with long layers. This is ridiculous!
