Highly recommend True for routine maintenance and necessary repairs
I recently lost my dad and one of the unforeseen struggles of grief I lost my go to car person. “Dad what’s this weird noise?” “Do I actually need this repair or am I getting scammed?”
At True I found people who I could trust and I felt were genuinely looking out for me and the longevity of my vehicle. I told Chance I was taking a road trip and he ensured the team looked over my vehicle to make sure I would be safe on the drive. Chance worked with me on prioritizing any repairs and understood budget constraints - I never felt pressured to buy anything and I felt fully informed of the ins and outs of what my car needed and WHY.
Also, they offer a lot of promotions and you can schedule via text! I love the texting option because I hate talking on the phone.
Overall, very sad to be moving away and losing my car guys! Again, highly recommend

Been in Woodstock for about 10 years now and bought my car in 2016. After warranty was up I needed/wanted to find an independent shop that works on German cars, in my case a Bimmer. Everyone knows that BMWs are exceptionally pricey to maintain and fix which I was fully aware of of going into thr purchase. Even more so if you take to the stealership. Expect to offer your first born and/or apply for a 2nd mortgage to fix your vehicle. Hyperbolic, yes, but not far from the truth...Indie shops are great because they have the same expertise just like the dealership, but typically you can expect better prices. After trying several independent garages in my area over the years. I've landed on True Automotive. I trust this team of people which is saying a lot when talking about a mechanic or garage. They have great deals on maintenance items, (oil change, coolant flush, etc ), but what has really impressed me is their pricing on break/fix items. My car was recently disabled due to the electrical power steering went out while on the highway. I hit some debris that I couldn't avoid and was immediately on the shoulder of the highway. The steering rack needed to be replaced because of the debris smacking right into the electronics that controls the power steering. This is not a cheap repair, in fact the quotes I was getting for repair were in a word, astronomical .
I brought the car to True and met the manger of the location, Chance, who was very personable and more importantly, transparent with his pricing. Not only that, he gave me options for the repair including obtaining a used steering rack which is what I elected to do in this case. I was constantly updated throughout the entire process and those updates would include pictures as necessary. Chance was straight up awesome to work with and again, he has earned my trust with this repair due to his straightforwardness and transparency. I will not hesitate to bring my vehicle to True in the future for any repair or maintenance and would recommend them if you live in the Woodstock area and have a German car with the utmost confidence. Thank you Chance, and team for your help, diligence and efforts getting my car back on the road for a reasonable price!
Long review yes, but that should tell you a lot about how much I am impressed with their work, and pricing!

Recently we submitted two vehicles for inspection and service: a 2007 Outlander with 70k mi. and a 2011 Santa Fe with 140k mi. We came away truly impressed and with the comprehensive and prioritized inspection and repair regime applied to both vehicles AND with with the timely and transparent communications by your Service Advisor throughout the engagement. We emerged from the experience confident and fully satisfied.

Came in to get my Wife’s car serviced and the staff was amazing! Updating me as soon as they got more information and a quick and clean job was done. Michael made the process as smooth as possible and was very informative and easy to understand when explaining what future services were quoted for my vehicle. I will be getting any work that needs to be done on my car done here!

Brought car in for misfiring and they checked it and found the misfire along with an oil leak from the valve cover. They suggested replacing hydro booster as well. They were helpful and responsive at first even reducing some of the cost by using non oem parts to $1700.
As soon as I got the car back, the car would shut off completely whenever the a/c was on as well as traction control was no longer working. These both were not an issue prior to bringing it in. Took the car back to them the Friday before Memorial Day as I was going out of town. They said it would be Monday before they got to it which was fine.
The next Friday morning (a week later now) I call for an update and they said Chase (I believe his name was chase but it started with a C) was going to call me back. It is now 5:45pm and I never receive a call so I drive up to the shop. He apologies for not calling and says they have not touched my car yet and says due to its age (it’s a 2004) it’s hard to work on and find parts so they essentially put it on the back end of the priority list.
It is not until the next Monday that they look at it and say the problem related to the car cutting off when a/c is on could be due to the alternator so they have to start there and it will be $600. Again, there was never any issue with the alternator prior to bringing the car to them before. I express my concern to them about how these problems never existed before they fixed the car the initial time and “Chase” says the car was in poor condition when brought in, alternators go bad on all cars and he ultimately recommends getting rid of the car. I immediately pick the car up and take it to another shop.
The new shop finds the problem with the a/c and car shutting off as it was the Idle Air Control Valve (nothing about the alternator) and a $200 fix that they had done in a day. Again, there was 0 problem with my Idle Air Control Valve prior to True automotive fixing the initial misfire.
The conversations with “Chase” were in poor taste as I would’ve respected his opinion on getting rid of the car if he would’ve voiced it before charging me $1700 for the initial work. Also found it interesting how fast and responsive they were the first time I brought the car in and approved the $1700 cost versus how slow and unresponsive they were when I brought it back for an issue they potentially caused. The icing on the cake was upon retrieval of my vehicle the 2nd time, they left the cabin/dome lights on inside the vehicle. Thankfully i got the car early in the day as it’s possible that would’ve drained the battery.

Had a chance to talk Chance and Michael during my visit and I must say I am truly impressed. Came in with an attitude because I thought I would be burning a whole in my pocket, but they both were very knowledgeable and informed me what I thought was an engine problem was just my power steering fluid being low. The process was smooth and easy and I was on my way! 10/10 highly recommend

I recently had the pleasure of visiting TRUE Automotive for some much-needed work on my vehicle, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a warm welcome and a genuine eagerness to assist me with my car troubles.
Chance, Michael, and the staff at TRUE demonstrated a high level of professionalism and expertise throughout my entire visit. They took the time to thoroughly assess the issues with my vehicle and clearly explained the necessary repairs in a way that was easy for me to understand. I never once felt pressured or misled, which was a refreshing change from my past experiences with other auto repair shops.
Not only was the service top-notch, but the quality of work performed on my car was outstanding. The technicians clearly know their stuff, and it shows in the results. Also, the pricing at TRUE was fair and transparent. I appreciated that there were no hidden fees or surprises when it came time to pay the bill, which is something that is unfortunately all too common in the auto repair industry. I recently had the pleasure to visit this location and I have to say hats off to the True Staff, especially Michael and Chance. Since I have an older vehicle with lots of miles, I’m used to mechanics trying to upsell me and and offer more services than needed. Those two were very honest and fair, and walked me through all the necessary fixes, while giving me suggestions for future things I should keep an eye on. I didn’t feel pressured or talked down to at all with their attention to detail and thorough communication styles.
Not only that, Michael and Chance were very prompt in their services. I didn’t have to wait a week for my repairs, I was in and out within a day. I’m so grateful I had the pleasure of working with these two and I’m looking forward to working with them again in the future. Thank you both for your amazing work!
