Awful customer service experience. I bought a giftcard as a gift for a friend and the giftcard was defective. Upon returning to the store for a refund, I was told that they cannot refund the giftcard. Nothing on the giftcard says this, there is no signage on the display where i purchased the giftcard that says "No Returns". This is a textbook false advertising and deceptive business practice. I escalated the issue to their district manager Donald and was told that "It's not our problem". This is outright theft. If you are going to buy someone a giftcard, do not buy it from GameStop. If the giftcard doesn't work, they will not refund your money. Buy giftcards somewhere else, anywhere else.

Store has gone downhill. It used to be stocked full of tons of stuff, especially Pokemon related items and/or little trinkets for gamers, as well as games.Every time I go in now it's basically empty, the Pokemon section has been reduced to a small tiny area to the left of the desk. Behind the desk looks like a gamers computer desk with no will to clean, it's just a disaster of items sprawled everywhere back there.There's also a teenager girl that works here that is quite rude if you're able to get in the store (see my statement below on that). I've been gaming since the 90s and she thinks she's just better than everyone and is extremely snarky. How she has a job dealing with customers is beyond me, and/or management is not taking steps to train/guide her on her job.Also, as others have said, they randomly put notes on the door. Went last night and it stated "Be back in 45 minutes, taking a break" with absolutely no time on when they left. Did they leave 2 hours ago to go on a 45 minute break? Has it been all day? 20 minutes? Only the ghost in the store know. Not sure what type of break you need working at GameStop at 5PM, but I assume it wasn't someone working hard to make the store better, that's guaranteed.

I've tried calling atleast 10x in the last 2 weeks. They never answer. They will let it ring a few times, then it goes to a busy signal. I don't care how clean your store is, or if you're nice when ppl come in store. Answering phones is also part of customer service.

Came in 30 mins before close day after christmas because i was having problems with a nintendo switch and the cashier Cole was very nice did our exchange within 10 minutes no hassle

Walked in to trade in a switch light. I mentioned to the Asian behind the desk (black hair, glasses) I have a Nintendo switch. I couldn’t even finish what I was going to say before he said do you have the charger. I was taken aback by the way he asked I just said no I…Then he you need the charger and just stared at me…Please for love of god know some respect and customer courtesy. The female working was much nicer and I wished I had gotten her to take care of me. I’ll be going to the trickum location from now on.

Waiting to get in the store to get new God of war that I already paid on preorder, but there’s no one at the store. It’s almost 12:30 pm and the line of ppl waiting is ridiculous. Where is the worker that supposed to open by 12? Very frustrating

The blonde girl that was on shift yesterday was very rude. I came in ready with a phone to trade in. When they took it they immediately look like they didn't know what they were doing as they were exchanging looks back and forth ...like they were deciding who was going to do the trade in... this made me very hesitant to still do business at this location...I've done trades ins a bunch of times with game stop over the years.... once I gave them the phone they know what to do and ask me questions I'm familiar with on the trade in process... the blonde girl rudely says is the phone you have unlocked with an eyeroll... I said no it's with Verizon and this made me question them.... because in the past they never cared who the carrier was for on the phone...like i got no hello or welcome in as i walked in the door. Then she's like oh we can't do the trade in if it's not unlocked so you can take this back and starts rollin her eyes and says something under her breath to the guy coworker...then goes and helps the next customer I use to love game stop but they will just hire anybody now a days and that's bad cause not alot of people people have good customer service...I called the Chastain meadows location and they gladly helped me with my trade in they said it wasn't a big deal unlocked or not....like this is why game stop is slowly running out of business... you guys keep hiring these rude teenagers and young adults.... please get some actually decent workers in here??????
