Well, I called Allatoona Animal Hospital about why Rolex did not receive an antibiotic if the diagnosis was bronchitis. I was told by a nasty woman named Kathy that it was because Rolex would have to come in again to be examined and given a $300 chest xray in order to prescribe any antibiotics. (He was just there yesterday!!!) They said he would have to wait until next Tuesday to get this done. In addition, during the exam she was telling the Vet Tech what to type in the report. Said he was in good shape, a little tense in the back (probably from coughing), a rough sound but not crackling sound to the lungs, and a tiny bit "fluffy" meaning overweight. She mentioned he was normal in his temperature, and was eating and drinking regularly. I showed her video of him at night where he coughs and hacks the most. Kennel Cough was ruled out. So let me get this straight. If I were a person diagnosed with bronchitis, and went to a doctor like this, I would be sent home with sudafed and told to take honey. In order for me to get an antibiotic, I would need to get an xray and pay yet another exam fee. Hmmmmmmmm, seems a bit off to me. I called Persimmon Creek Animal Hospital in Canton, where Rolex and Chinchie were patients their whole lives before I switched them over to Allatoona this past year because Allatoona offered some holistic therapies. What a HUGE mistake. They are VERY expensive and want to have you come in and do unnecessary tests to gain money and NOT the concern of the animal or the average dog owner (which with today's economy you are lucky to make it paycheck to paycheck). Persimmon Creek agreed to see Rolex today.....(thank you Jesus) mind you the DAY after seeing Dr. Wonsky at Allatoona Animal Hospital which was yesterday, to be examined and was told they would probably send him home with an antibiotic and a steroid because he has been dealing with this for such awhile. I can't say enough good about Persimmon Creek in Canton and enough poor remarks about Allatoona Animal Hospital. In addition, Rolex had been seen two times in the past two-three months for a skin infection and ear infection and for his arthritis and it cost about $1000. Chinchie just got his shot for Distemper and a months worth of flea preventative and heartworm pills and it cost me $359. Animals are a money making venture at Allatoona and they should be ashamed of themselves. You see all of these dogs for adoption and needing homes. No wonder they can't find homes because of vets like Allatoona Animal Hospital. Not to mention the receptionist named Kathy that if a feckless wonder in her customer service skills. Never have been so disappointed and furious with a vet that I had entrusted the care of my dogs (which are my heart). It's a bit farther out, but I trust the folks of Persimmon Creek in Canton GA and never should of left in the first place. Sorry for the rant. But then again NOT sorry. I would literally sell body parts for my boys and they have been given the utmost care their whole lives.

*Not a Patient* Went to them to utilize their scanning tool for a lost cat. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE EXPERIENCE!!! BETWEEN THE MALE DOCTOR & FEMALE VET TECH - VERY RUDE & SPOKE TO ME (In-Person) &My Husband (Via telephone) in such condescending accusatory tones & made 'What should be a smooth process - a difficult one'. However, the front desk Receptionist was wonderful throughout the entire process, so this review excludes HER.*Pics provided to support importance/experience/Reunification*My 8-year-old son spent two HOURS rescuing this cat at Hobgood Park near the football field. The cat was almost hit by THREE cars & ran ONTO the active field. My son was the ONLY human she would come up to. When anyone else tried to approach, she ran into the woods. From 8pm to 10:15pm, he invested time & energy to secure the cat to safety. He fully understood we could not keep the kitty because we already have 3 dogs.I explained the entire scenario and our intentions to the staffers BEFORE & AGAIN ONCE ARRIVED.Turns out, she was "temporarily chipped." Tech asked me what I would like to do and if I wanted to leave an animal with them. I told her I would "Bring the Cat back once my son gets out of school so he can experience reunification and its importance, and see that 'Happy Endings' do exist" ... She just looked at me ? and said she would ask the doctor if that was okay. When the tech came back, she dryly stated that they thought it best the cat stays with them per owners' request. I told her that I promised my son he would be able to say "Bye to the cat when I dropped him off to school" - and I simply came to get the process started. I will gladly bring Cat back with my son to get Thanked directly. She went on to explain that the owners had a "privacy" request on their account to not share their phone number. So I suggested, she give THEM *MY* Number.Skeptically, she said she would give the owners a call back to see if that was doable. I asked if she could ask them if I could speak to them on speaker (voice to voice) there in the hospital. She came back and said "no", and proceeded to inform me that the owner stated "[their] child had lost the cat and has been inconsolable all night" And would be there at 2pm to pick up the animal.[I found this heartbreaking as to why the staffers were being evasive in connecting me with owners. I found it hard to believe that a pet lover would give such harsh ultimatums FULLY AWARE that A CHILD is who found their animal & simply wanted to be PRESENT. I didn't think someone who had a cat missing for ATLEAST 1-2 Days would be so cruel to not be able to accommodate an extra 30-45 minutes past their availability. It wasn't believable, and I went with my first instinct and stood up to secure the animal back in my car.]I returned on behalf of my child to speak BUSINESS!'When doing something good goes wrong' ... It's hard to remind yourself that you're on the right side of things ??♀️ I will give my child closure. MY CHILD WAS CURRENTLY IN SCHOOL AT 9AM .. & SO WAS THAT CHILD. BFFR.The tech REFUSED to take the paper with my number. So I left.ENDING: Reunification happened with Little Miss Bri & "Rosie" ? ❤️Don't ever let someone (no matter their "title") tell you anything that goes against your heart. And through this, we made a *new* connection. Wouldn't have been possible if I didn't "stand my ground" ❤️1.) Per conversation with owner: Hospital did NOT explain situation/intent to them in its entirety.2.) The doctor accused my husband (after I left) "it appeared" we did not want to return animal ?? why would I have come? Make it make sense. We didn't need them to assist in LIVE reunification. Just utilize their FREE resources of the scan tool and pass our number along. Our family isn't new to this ? These micro-aggressions need to STOP immediately.Advocate for your children always.*Appera

Dr Wansky is amazing and truly cares about the animals and caretakers for the animals that come into her office. She reads the room well and will explain things in a way a lay person will understand. I would recommend this practice to all my family and friends.

Dr Landeau and his team are great to work with. Mongo was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 9/2020. Wei opted not to do chemo or have surgery and our baby was given 2-3 months to live by the neurologist. Dr Landeau worked with us and the neurologist and provided Mongo 3 years of quality living. When it was time to say goodbye, it was the most caring and compassionate visit. They spoiled our beloved Mongo until the very end.

Brought my dog Dansby for a second opinion after a local hospital told me to take my dog to a specialist that would have been $2000-$4000. Dr. Witten did a full body check on my dog and proposed a few different options that could help. The very first one has made all the difference in the world and wasn’t even $100. Great staff and they truly care about your furry friend, as well as your pocket book.

I visited Allatoona Animal Hospital for the first time with our cat Fluffy and am very impressed. I like that they have at least one room specifically designated for cats. The vet spent time examining him and explaining a course of treatment. Overall, it is a friendly and welcoming place that seems well run.

Everyone there has always been incredibly kind and competent but Dr Witten went above and beyond when she arranged for a blanket under a tree for us to let our sweet boxer transition because I am claustrophobic and found the comfortable room inside to be too small with my family all inside. It was a beautiful day and so peaceful for me and my baby. We will never go anywhere else.

Been coming here for over a year. Very friendly staff members. As a bedside nurse who takes pride in providing quality patient care. It is quite easy for me to spot good providers from the bad ones. I can confidently say that dr Landau is truly a caring and genuine Dr, who listens to your regarding your pet’s health concerns. I will definitely recommend this hospital.
