Just so everyone knows what I think of Paul Thigpen Ford in Waynesboro, Ga:
Rude, Placed on hold for 10 minutes. called back again and attempted to speak to the sale/General Manager but was told he was too busy. Sales Manager is not too busy to have his name printed on a fake mailing to try and drum up business. Attempted to address mass mailings for a person that has been dead for over two years. Sending out these fake lies upsets people. They also send out fake you will win a prize if you scratch this ticket which is nothing more than a con to attempt to have you come to their dealership. As a person that has always attempted to buy local; I would walk before I would consider buying anything from Paul ThigPen Ford in Waynesboro.

Wouldn’t buy a pair of shoes from these cornballs. They keep sending me junk in the mail and text messages about trading in a car that I haven’t owned in years even though they’ve been asked to stop several times.

This review is for anyone looking for employment here. No I don’t really care it’s not for service or a car but if they treat employees and future employees like this, imagine customers.
I was called in for an Interview with Brian -Parts Manager where I was hired on the spot.
Brian told me to put my two weeks notice into my current position and that I was guaranteed the job.
Which I did and I had to take back due to this foolishness.
This was last Monday. From Tuesday -Thursday he told me to keep an eye out for the HR onboarding emails. Friday, I call yet again because I was supposed to start 8/19. I, then was told by Brian, they were on a “Hiring Freeze” and that he was “sorry”. Like this isn’t my money they were playing with.
I then called his boss, the hiring manager, who said Brian had lied to him about interviewing me and told him I only spoke with him over the phone. Which is a lie and that they had someone who had more experience in parts. Which is weird given I’ve worked in parts the last three years including inventory.
I even gave them the benefit of the doubt because he had called me Ms. Lee to see if they would fix their issue. They did not.
Do not look for a job here and definitely do not buy a car here. The inconsistency, the unpreparedness, and straight up lying are more than enough to keep me and a lot of people I know away.
Most unprofessional dealership I’ve come across.

These people suck and take advantage of seniors. My parents (ages 85 and 91) bought a used car from Thigpen Ford ... they were played. By the time they got home they noticed a chipped front window that had tape on it... check engine light is on and has two recalls. This sucks ?.

BEWARE!
They ran my credit after I told them Not to, pressured me for hours to test drive, etc, after I told them I was Not buying today, then scolded me for taking up their time.
I will not ever darken their door again.

Running a lottery....thats strange. Won 20k scratch off thing, called number off their flier and was confirmed to win. Drove and hour and after getting my info and trying to sell me a vehicle, they showed me their board which my numbers suddenly didn't match any prize so I was told I didn't actually win. No suprise after I didn't go for a vehicle. Drove back, called their number listed and was told I was guaranteed a prize. Called their buisness number and the guy I got in sales kept saying the phone number they had listed to confirm the activation numbers doesn't know the winning numbers...? The way its listed absolutely ensures the number is an authority recognized by them. The fine print says I was in fact guaranteed to match one of the prizes if not the one it appears I've won. Sorry for the long read but context is important. The guy on the phone then tries to gaslight me saying how I just left without getting my scratch offs. My numbers didn't match that prize either. My guaranteed win... by not matching any prize it shows either the tickets are messed up, the winning numbers are messed up, or the more serious options...maybe I could never win the big prize because how would you ever know if someone actually won? Or you "win" if you had agreed to go in on a vehicle. By randomly offering the smallest up when I pressed, it means for me at least, there was never a chance at actually winning the listed prizes with those odds. Removing the odds of the other prizes would remove a key part in a legal lottery. You can't just switch out the prizes. Big differences in 20k and a scratch off. Lol now they have left me on hold for the last 30 min, and another 16 min before that. So I've already put a report of my suspension out to the BBB (Better Buisness Bureau). Probably figure out what entity regulates local or state lotteries next. If I had went there and my numbers matched even a smaller prize I would have been fine since it could be miss communication. It's odd a guaranteed winner didn't match any prize showing there... its a problem. So that's my experience with this buisness. I have only listed the possibilities I believe are possible and not accused anyone of anything. These days you can't be too careful of these big corporations. Still on hold another 10 min and that would be an hour lmao. Hopefully this leads to change somehow. Called again, got hung up on, called with *67 and after they verified it was me, again hung up. Called again and claimed that I didn't win one of the 4 prizes and offered to send a hat or something in the mail. Now wants me to drive another hour so that they can try and give me a hat or a scratch off that wouldn't cover the gas I spent going there and back the first time. It's a illegal lottery if they try to switch the prizes out. That's what they are doing with me. I look back at reviews and see another person with what appears to be a similar problem. Just finished my FTC report. Hopefully this will stop them from doing it to others just so they can collect information to use later. Also they said they were giving out random prizes to all the other winners as well. Despite the guarantee of one of the four prizes. Everyone that took those prizes might have harmed their chances at any suit. Trying to get me to drive back down there despite not stating any intent to give the actual prizes. It was terribly dangerous driving down there yesterday on my motorcycle and now they think offing any old hat makes them square on the prize, and saying just drive down here with the ticket. The only proof of it all. If all their other lotteries were like this, then it's probably something you could hit with a class action.

Do not buy into the scam they are running. They tell you that you’ve won this huge prize to get you in the door to try and sell you a car.

Aggressive sales personnel - at my car door even before I opened it. Very low inventory; we like to see, test drive and check out the vehicle we were interested in. If you receive a flyer saying you won something, don't buy into it.

Would give a zero star every minute, every day, for the rest of my life. Another one of those mailer scams, with deceptive wording. You don’t win anything, you get in the door for prizes that just go to a friend or family member. Total scam of a shoddy dealership.

Would give a zero if I could. Don’t fall for their scams. They send out fliers advertising prizes to get you to their dealership. We scratched and it said we won $10,000 gift card. We even called to confirm. We were told, Yes, you have a winning number”. Well, we went all the to Waynesboro only to be told that we didn’t have the actually winning invitation number like the flier said. Bait and switch. However they want to give you $2 in lottery tickets. How unhonest can a dealership be. Do yourself a favor, go to Augusta to buy a Ford. If they can’t be honest about their advertising fliers how can you trust them to give you a fair price or provide professional service. No integrity.

Buyer beware!!!!! My elderly parents were scammed by this dealership. They were sent a card saying they won $10k or an ATV and of course it was a bait and switch. They then were tricked into paying $43,000 for a 2019 Toyota Sienna XLE with 96k miles worth at most half of that based off comparable vehicles. When I talked to Kevin Mitchell to see how that was possible he said “a deals a deal”… Take your business elsewhere if you don’t want to get scammed.
