Laura S. Walker State Park is a beautiful and well-maintained park with plenty to do. It is a great spot to enjoy the outdoors, offering hiking on well-kept trails, kayaking, canoeing, boating, and water skiing on the lake. The park has many amenities, including a top-tier dog park and play area, clean bath houses, and covered picnic shelters with ceiling fans. It is a beautiful location for picnics, gatherings, or events, with rental cabins and smaller cottages available. The cabins are extremely nice, cozy, and cleaner than a hotel room, situated in quads that make them great for groups. The park also features a golf course in great shape with very challenging greens. The park rangers and staff are wonderful, friendly, and helpful, running a fantastic park where ongoing improvements are noticeable. While the cottages are a bit small, they work fine. Some visitors note that verifying veteran discounts for golf or lodging can be a confusing process, requiring specific documentation. Overall, it is a peaceful, serene park highly recommended for a visit.
