Best post office in the area. I come here even though I live in Athens. Very friendly and efficient postal workers.

What has happened to our hometown post office? Recently, visited the post office on two occasions and there were 12-14 customers waiting in line with one employee assisting the customers.

I love this post office for its location, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly personnel. Other PO’s do not measure up: long lines and wait time; unfriendly and discourteous service, lack of materials on hand, lack of available parking. The Watkinsville PO is a necessity in our area and needs to stay in place. The idea of making postal delivery people pick up and drop off at Olympic Drive is not only unrealistic it is ludicrous - resulting in chaos and late deliveries. The USPS continues to demand more money while lessening services. Leave Watkinsville PO where it is.

Tired of going downtown and having to pay for parking, I decided to give this location a try. It was a wonderful experience. I was the first in line, the postal worker greeted me, and the whole thing took less than one minute. I'm impressed.

Above and beyond the call of duty! I arrived 20 minutes after closing with a bin full of packages and they still opened the door to receive it so my drive in wasn't a waste of time. What a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for your kindness.

Very rude staff member and manager. Blew me off and basically said it was my problem. Horrible customer service.

So I use the informed delivery and we have had numerous issues of not receiving mail AND packages, so I choose the "didn't receive item" option and I've never heard back for any of the missing mail pieces or missing packages... Why is it an option to report it as not received if zero steps are taken to solve the problem of "missing" mail/packages ? I've put "missing" in quotations because I don't believe for a second that it's a coincidence that only items such as birthday or holiday cards / gifts or expensive packages are the only things that goes "missing".... Some real shady stuff goes on for real. I suppose going up there in person will be a better option from here on out, and they're conveniently located next to the sheriff's office so I suppose I can stop there as well to report what is clearly becoming a trend of theft ??♀️

It's nice to have a local post office in a convenient location near downtown Watkinsvillle and close to some other central services, grocery stores, library, restaurants, etc. It has general supplies like priority (one-price) mailing boxes and has P.O. Boxes for rent. Most of the personnel are pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately it lacks the thing that would make it most convenient for users- one of the machines that allows customers to weigh and mail letters and small packages &buy stamps when the post office personnel are off duty or when there is a line of people there for other things -like picking up mail and mailing large packages. The facility is adequate for the size of the town. Lines are longer at Christmas, like most post offices-(again a postal machine could help alleviate this snd help customers, especially in times when people need to distance. Parking is usually adequate -and in crowded times people can park in the larger lot at the library and walk. There are outside boxes for mailing letters in a small drive-thru area.
