Went there last Thursday for my dauchson and spent 600 for them to tell me they couldn't really say what exactly was wrong with him but wanted an extra 400 plus just to keep him over night to give him meds and watch him. Don't take your pets here unless they are bleeding or about dead come to find out he had whip worms. They rip you off. I would have given it a one star but it won't let me.

I called, absolutely panicking, to let them know I was on the way. While trying to hold a dying puppy and drive a stick shift and give them my information, they let me know they found my account from a few years ago and had everything I needed just told me to get there and drive safe. When I came in I gave them my name, they were aware of the situation and took her directly back. They were matter of fact about cost and very transparent about everything, and to be honest it was all reasonably priced.I was sat down and talked to by the veterinarian within about 30 minutes of dropping Marmite off, which is way faster than other after hours services I have used. They also have TEXT UPDATES!!! Which is so great for a worrier like me.If you have a pet emergency, you won’t be reading reviews before you go, but if for some reason you are- your pup will be well taken care of here. ? ❤️ #nomv

0 sense of urgency, one of the male employees was verbally complaining the whole 3+ hours I've been waiting for my cat with sudden breathing problems to be seen. Clearly would rather be anywhere but here, I understand being stressed and not liking your job but it's an emergency vet clinic, that attitude isn't giving me the peace of mind that my pet is being taken care of right. If I wasn't worried my cat would get even worse over night I'd have just waited until Monday.

If you have to go to an emergency vet, go here. The staff is professional and kind. My elderly dog had suddenly lost the ability to walk and was in severe pain. They immediately took her back on our arrival and provided a sedative to keep her comfortable while the exams were performed. They had her wrapped in a blanket and a soft pillow, like she was their own. They explained the situation in detail to me and provided options. Very compassionate when a difficult decision had to be made.

Had an emergency need for an exotic vet, and they helped give me several numbers to reach out to for emergency treatment. They didn't have to this for me, but they did, and that is amazing service. They weren't able to help directly with my needs, but they still helped me out.Thank you, and keep up that amazing work!

I highly recommend this place. Great staff great service a truly amazing place.Tonight was a rough night we had to euthanize my 17 year old cat Coco she was the best cat in the world. She went with us everywhere we went. Being our first time at the emergency vet my husband and son took her to this amazing place with a true emergency. EVERYONE was so kind from the gentleman that answered the phone when I called to let them know she was coming to every single person that works there every one was so kind and so understanding. They took care of the situation very quickly and showed kindness and compassion from the moment they arrived. I want to thank you all for everything you did for my Coco tonight and for my family. God bless everyone single one of you. My heart is broken but the entire staff made it easier for us tonight.

Do NOT take your pet here. They are rude and incompetent. My puppy was vomiting and began to get weak. He is vaccinated, so I was fairly confident it wasn’t parvo or anything like that. They wanted to do a blood and fecal test anyway to double check, which is understandable. Had to pay $205 upfront before they would even see him or start test. Once the test came up negative, they took him back and I assumed they were giving him medicine or IV fluids or something. I’m not a vet, but lethargy from vomiting all day needs fluids.Over an hour later a tech comes out and tells me they need to keep him overnight and would likely need to do surgery to put in a shunt because his liver enzymes were slightly elevated. They stated there was nothing they could really do if they didn’t know what he ate.I then go back to see him and they have done nothing. I have been there for 2 hours and they haven’t even started fluids. When asked why he didn’t have an IV, they stated that they had to have my consent on a care plan. When asked what could be wrong, they said they had no idea. They told me (in front of my daughter) that he would die if I didn’t leave him there overnight and do the surgery. My daughter was hysterical. They then go on to tell me he is having neurological problems. When asked to explain, they said because he is having difficulty walking and standing and keeps falling asleep. The last I checked that is 100% lethargy. Then when asked about price, all they could say was in the thousands. I told them to just give him some IV fluids and I would take him home. They then proceeded to tell me I could just surrender him and some family that could afford his care could adopt him. What? I never said money was a problem. But I’m not going to just give my money to someone who doesn’t even know what’s wrong with my dog. The only indication you had for surgery was elevated liver enzymes. In their own words “slightly elevated liver enzymes.” You know what else causes slightly elevated liver enzymes? Gastro issues such as vomiting and diarrhea. They gave him some fluids finally and made me sign AMA paperwork and told me he would likely die. I took him home and he has been recovering so far. He is back on his feet, eating and drinking, urinating and seems in better spirits. I literally just took him for dehydration and they wanted “thousands of dollars.”When I left they charged me another $400 dollars. $700 for one bag of IV fluids and a blood test.

Short version: Everyone here was extremely professional, compassionate, and did the absolute best I could ask for for my situation. I can't thank them enough for everything they did.My cat, Bagel, was unfortunately hit by a car on our street last Sunday evening. He was barely breathing when I got to him, and was likely gone before we even got into my car to rush to here. I called ahead, since it'd never been to an emergency vet before, and they told me to bring him in and they'd do whatever they could. When I arrived, I told them I called about my cat being hit by a car and they immediately took him back into the medical area. They then allowed me to sit in an exam room to wait for whatever they might be able to do. The vet knocked, waited for confirmation, and came in a short time later. She confirmed my thoughts that he was already gone and, unfortunately, there wasn't anything they could do to save him. She said they could bring him in for me, if I wanted, and they had options that we could go over later when I was ready. It was extremely kind and compassionate given my emotional state at the time. I said I wanted to see him and I might as well hear about everything now. We went over my options of taking him home or funeral/cremation services that they had in connection with Pet Plantation Funeral, and would prepare him however and whenever I wanted, just if i wanted to take him home and do cremation later, there were some conditions he'd need to be kept in (cool area, I believe). I decided on cremation, and they could take him after I was done grieving with him there. She left, and someone brought him to me wrapped in a clean towel. She told me to take as much time as I needed with him, and there was a doorbell button for when I was ready for them to take him. I grieved for quite a while with him, but I'm glad I could at least spend it with him to say goodbye. I was never rushed, and they checked in to ensure I had anything I needed. They were extremely compassionate, and I honestly can't thank them enough for how they handled everything.I will miss Bagel every day. Love you Bagel!

No one ever wants to end up at the emergency room with their furry family member, but if you must go and are in the area, please go here. You will be in great hands. Be aware they are not open during normal business hours most days of the week, but nights and weekends and major holidays. Be mindful and call before you go like I did, it really set us up for success. Based on the information provided and that they knew we were headed over, we were triaged IMMEDIATELY and I didn’t wait but maybe 10 minutes before I was talking to the doctor with her assessment. Dr. Kendall was SO kind and compassionate, explaining everything I needed to know about our kitty’s care and spoke openly about prices and gave me time to figure out a plan with my husband. The front desk staff were just fabulous and patient with me as I asked so many questions. They kept me informed throughout my cat’s stay and allowed me to text or call as much as needed without ever feeling like I was a bother. Regarding price - it’s an emergency room. You’re going to pay more than your home vet or urgent care. I went in expecting that. I’ll be honest, the reviews SCARED me but you have to take them with a huge grain of salt - we don’t really know what happened on either side, but I’ll tell you with from our experience, we had a GREAT experience and they saved my cat’s life and treated him with love, kindness and respect. Thank you so much to Dr. Kendall and the team on 11/26 for your love and care in taking care of my cat Tosin. Our family is so grateful.

I can’t say enough about the empathy and kindness offered by MGVEC. Our tech, Casey R., and Dr. Levert were helpful and compassionate in assisting with our sick elderly pet’s end of life needs. We knew it was coming but weren’t expecting it on the evening before a holiday. We were immediately given a calm, comfortable room to spend time with our pet privately while we waited. Casey explained our options and billing after seeing about her. They each explained every step and were very sweet to her.We also spoke with a very nice young lady on the phone when making arrangements to come, I didn’t get her name but she was incredible as well. She sent over a text for all info so that we could register ahead. All in all, they made a very hard evening much less so. My husband is in the veterinary industry in a day time setting, and will not hesitate to recommend this clinic in the future. We are forever grateful.

We had a whirlwind of an experience over the past 24 hours and had TWO puppies start seizing and unfortunately lost one. The ENTIRE staff from the front desk to Lisa and Dr. Leverett were extremely tender hearted and caring and compassionate while staying professional the entire time. Can not say enough overwhelmingly positive things about this group. Even though we lost one they saved our other fur baby. Don’t know where we’d be without these amazing people.

Had to come here late at night due to an accident with my 5 week old puppy. When I walked in I was greeted by Kat, a front desk receptionist, who immediately yelled at me to get out, my puppy could have parvo. Never mind I why I was there had absolutely nothing to do with parvo. The entire time I was there Kat was rude, snappy and demeaning to not only customers but also her coworker, Mi.Mi, was sweet and attempted to explain what we needed to do to get signed signed but was having difficulty due to Kay yelling to get outside.

The team at Middle Georgia Veterinary Center is fantastic. Because we live in rural Georgia, the drive was a little over an hour. We spoke with the team on the phone and headed that way. Once we arrived, they performed X-rays on my pup and, within 5 minutes, notified us that our pup had GDV (Bloat), which is a life-threatening condition. Once they told me this, I responded that I needed to make a phone call. So, the team member left the room, and I never called anyone. I just needed to grasp that I was about to put my pup's life in a stranger's hands.Once the team members returned, I told them to perform the surgery. Then, I discussed with the office manager what our bill would be. And again, I didn't trust them because I was not local. But I paid the upfront bill of $3,500 and completely anticipated another $2,000 +/- bill once the surgery was complete. With all that said, The team performed the surgery with great success and extreme care for my pup and wife's emotional state. When we returned the following day, Our pup was ready to go home. We were notified that the surgery went well and that our bill was reduced to $2,200. Guys, As I said before, I was expecting to have a secondary bill after the surgery and would have never questioned it. Instead, they refunded me a portion of my original payment. Middle Georgia Veterinary Emergency Center is a team that you can trust with the life of your pup and trust not to take financial advantage of you in an emotional state. Thank you to the entire team and staff. They are amazing.
