My little shorkie and I are so excited.
I have been paying 150.00 for an office visit and allergy shot only to last one day
Today we went to this awsome Dr that gave clarification on her condition he didn't give her A shot he gave her an antibiotic and she is resting and relaxing something she hasn't done in A very long time
And the staff is so nice
We won't be going anywhere else ever again
Thank you so very much

My dog started acting funny late in the afternoon after playing outside. I called and got ahold of Dr. Reece. She had me come in immediately and started my dog on medicine fluids and got blood work. Within 20minutes she had him diagnosed and on his way to feeling better. She gave perfect home care instructions and even called and checked on him the next day to see how he was doing! I cannot recommend Dr. Reece and her team enough. She is the best around!

I believe that my daughter's Bichon, Bailey, may have developed gum disease, possibly as a result of a dog attacking and biting Bailey's mouth up previously, for which, Bailey was treated. Fast forward to today, our Bichon ended up having 13 teeth extracted. An employee from Houston Lake Animal Hospital, called me and told me they had to remove 7 of Bailey's teeth, but could end up being more. I show up to pick up Bailey a few hours later and find that they removed 13 of his teeth, without asking me first! After getting home, I took a careful look at the teeth Dr. Reese removes from Bailey's mouth and it looks like she removed what appears to be THREE HEALTHY TEETH! SEE ATTACHED PICTURE OF TEETH. Decayed teeth on left and the three healthier teeth on right. I'm not gonna lie, this had me very upset, as it should, but I maintained my composure anyway, considering how irritated I was. My reaction could have been worse, but I refused to go there. I just paid the bill, after asking for an explanation of NEW charges. Things like having this type of experience, can have a huge negative impact on a good-paying customer, who may not patronize this business again. After all, I just shelled out almost $1500 in cash, to Houston Lake Animal Hospital in one visit! Also, this hospital returned Bailey to me with a very dirty face. I bought Bailey to them with a CLEAN FACE and they returned him to me, with a FILTHY FACE - SEE PHOTO ATTACHED. Dr. Reece and the front desk personnel told me it was because of the bleeding during surgery. Not an excuse. If they can remove teeth, they can clean a dog's face. I expressed to Dr. Reece that they could have cleaned his face better than they did! Small things like this, has a huge impact on a customer, and whether or not, the customer will give HLAH more repeat business. Furthermore, the at-home care instructions they gave me, was not as thorough as they could have been. I ended up calling this animal hospital TWICE, AFTER the visit, to get more clarity about the medication they gave me, for Bailey. For this animal hospital to charge as much as they do, it would serve them well, to at least ACT a little more caring and personable with ALL their customers, not just a select few. Additionally, as a side note, I am a spiritually sensitive intuitive. From the time I walked in the front door of Houston Lake Animal Hospital, this morning, I almost immediately experienced very low vibes AND extreme indifference, as though it was permeating the air in that place! That low vibe was in the air pretty thick, even behind the smiles, lol! The energy I felt in that place had me uneasy and for good reason! I should have listened to my first mind and took our dog elsewhere. No worries, though. On a positive note, at least the oral health of my daughter's Bichon will be restored. I know of some pet owners, who know other pet owners, and I will definitely let them know about my experience at this particular animal clinic. I don't want ANYONE else to have a negative experience like this, with this animal clinic! I may get a second opinion from another veterinarian and if he/she finds that these 3 teeth of Bailey's was salvageable, I shall move forward to the next step. Houston Lake Animal Hospital. Smh :-(

All the doctors and staff are amazing! They show great love and care for My fur babies. I don’t feel the prices are that high because they’re cheaper than what I’ve been quoted by other vets would highly recommend anyone to go see them.

I've been using southwood since 2020 and they were okay I guess but pricey. I suddenly had to take my cat, sid, here for a uti and blockage and they are amazing. I am Immediately impressed here, one visit was all it took for me to switch vets. Not only very friendly and professional, but very understanding of financial situations. They worked with me greatly on the price. Maddi is a wonderful tech too. Definitely recommend.
