Laundry in Villa Rica, GA

“Very clean laundromat with cameras. They come in to clean & empty the trash every few hours. Sweep and mop too. They have TVs, but they are not always on. There is a restroom in the back and a change machine. There are no paper towels or soap dispensers in the bathroom. When this place first opened, it used to be the best place anywhere to have your clothes done or to wash them yourself. But imo, because of the change in the total population and the type of population of Villa Rica & in nearby towns (population is growing), more and more people are coming here to this laundromat. It’s extremely crowded many times…elbow to elbow. And the types of people who come here to wash clothes has changed too in recent years. Used to be moms with small children and older individuals…a few solo/single individuals. Now, there are more seedy looking men who lear at women and girls, people who blatantly ignore the rules (saw many times women and men bringing in baskets full of shop cloths [full of smelly chemicals] from their businesses (or loads of tablecloths from a catering company) and washing them here when signs clearly say not to..ditto washing heavy rugs). I got a bad rash from washing in a machine where a lady had just washed all her shop cloths ( it was the only one available ). Some of the “parents” who frequent this laundromat allow their kids to scream repeatedly and run wild throughout the place while banging on the equipment and toy dispenser, coke and candy machines. You couldn’t really politely ask them to calm their children down anyway, since several of these parents don’t speak English. Saw one young teen boy slamming the lids to the washers up and down as hard as he could while his mom ignored him nearby. No pets allowed, but people come in with their dogs all the time. When they are told to take the dogs out, they will put them in their car in 90 degree heat. So then, do you call the police and have them rescue and take the animal? Saw one loud, obnoxious woman with a MONKEY in this laundromat, which she held but also allowed to wander on the floor. Not sure that’s even legal, not sure the exotic animal was properly licensed and Vaccinated. Older kids sitting in the carts meant for people’s laundry is another problem. Damages the carts, and they are filthy at times. A few times I’ve seen graffiti written on the tables, but the management must clean it off bcos it’s gone when I come in a week later….you never used to see that. Of course, no one‘s there at the time these things are going on, and what are you gonna do? I mean as a patron who’s there to wash my clothes, I feel extremely unsafe and uncomfortable when people like that are there….and I feel like my personal use of my (paid for) time and space there is being invaded by these strange people who have no respect for others. Also, why should I have to police the place anyway…that’s the owner’s job. ( And you’re basically trapped there with these awful people since you cannot just unlock the washers mid-cycle, take out your soaking wet clothes and leave. ). Why should I have to listen to a 7 year old running and screaming for thirty mins straight or a teen banging the washer lids trying to break them? Why should I be continually harassed for money by homeless people? This is a business, and I’m a patron who is there to wash my clothes, nothing else. I SHOULD be able to feel safe and secure and at least have a little normal noise/quiet, not constant racket. If you use this place, just know, there is a homeless population which likes to wander in later in the evenings. I don’t have anything against the homeless, and I realize this is probably one of their only options in very cold weather, but still. Do you really want to bring your children with you to wash clothes in a place where the homeless camp out for the evening?”

“For three years I have consistently received friendly, quality service. Owners are kind and reasonably flexible with pick-up dates— never rude. I like the matter-of-fact directness I get with any questions; owners are experts at what they do.”
