The staff was wonderful with me and my 81 year old father who is trying to get back into a healthy routine since he beat Throat Cancers Butt!!!! It was so nice to see my dad happy and feeling hopeful that he is going to fully recover and get back to his old self!!!

I used to love the Y but I came to do a class and the boxing instructor threatened me otherwise a cool guy we haven't been seeing eye to eye but I paid my membership and during my warm up he told me to move out the way if i ain't taking the class and i said I was and so I started back working and I started talking during no cussing no vulgar language just saying he was hating on me and I guess that touched his nerves and he ran up and threatened me so I called my cops and they gave me a trespass warning although I wasn't told to leave and was the one being threatened go to fit fighters if you want to box it's also cheaper in the long run

I enjoy everything about the YMCA but having to watch my 15 year old play basketball restricts me from attending classes that I desire to join while my toddler is in the nursery and my teenager plays basketball. The manager here picks the days it’s okay he can play basketball without supervision, the rules are not enforced for everybody. He’s been coming for a few months without adult supervision and I explained that to management and all I was told was “idk why that was missed for such a long period of time.” Very disappointed bc there is no way I’ll want to sit inside the gym the entire time on those uncomfortable bleachers for a few hours!

So we went to the ymca to swim, and the pool, while not covered yet (I had called earlier to ask and they said it was covered) was nice and warm...but then we overheard a manager complaining that it was too wam...and that it should be turned down...so we are rethinking our memberships as apparently the administrators don't care about the comfort of its elderly members... other than that everyone else there was exceptionally nice...and the facilities were clean...

Staff gives mis information and is not clear with all members in what policy are, removed my children from childcare and was charged a 80$ weekly rate but was told I would be contacted by a staff member in 3 weeks to discuss a refund. This never happened reached out for the third week and was informed that is no longer there policy and even though my children did not attend for that week they would not issue a refund with the cancellation request thankfully I was only cheated the one week because that would have been 160$ with no benefit with it. Very disappointed in the answers provided and no real explanation but that they no longer issue refunds and they were sorry….that provides nothing to what the other staff member is telling people.

We’ve been going to the Y in Valdosta a little over a year, the gym is a little outdated but clean and not too busy in the mornings. We’ve had some issues with a nursery worker in the morning shift (Charlotte), I’ve brought it to the front desk’s attention a couple of times and they were so rude and did nothing about it. The front desk staff is very rude when you ask them simple questions (Annie and another short girl with blonde hair). If there’s an issue with something nobody really cares and on top of that they always have a nasty attitude. It would be nice if better staff was hired.

I have not been going to the ymca long this time. I have had good experience with the staff and the other people.

My brother wanted to go here for one day while he was visiting me from out of state. I read on the website that he could go for a small entry fee for the day. Upon arriving the front desk manager told me that she did not know about it but if I could show it to her on the website she would let it go. After 20 minutes of me searching and finally finding it. She told me that there was nothing she could do that she was not allowed to charge a small fee and that she would not know what to charge. After me just telling her my brother only wanted to go for one day the only way she would allow him to enter was to buy a $65 one month member ship. My brother only got to use the YMCA for that one day. The customer service is terrible here and the people are very rude.

Good Facility, Good Variety of Equipment and Amenities, but all this is rendered mute by a Terrible Staff. With few exceptions they are generally inattentive, unprofessional, or just downright rude. You might think people working in the service industry would not make customers feel like a unwelcome intruders, but you'd be wrong in regards to the Valdosta YMCA staff. Also, there is no way to offer suggestions or complaints in any way, which probably played a significant role in how things became so bad in the first place.

Great family atmosphere. The YMCA staff members are very friendly and professional! The staff keeps and maintain the YMCA very clean and sanitized. This place has free weights, Smith machine , both dry and steam suana to relax after a hard workout. The woman have their own workout room, access to the pool, basketball gym etc is amazing!!

Had membership here decade ago. The place was like family. There are trainers to give you exercises and teach you machines. There are exercise programs. A pool and a chair that drops you into the water. Fully handicap accessible.

I worked as a site leader for prime time at hahira elementary school. It was absolutely HORRIBLE. I do not recommend putting your kids in ANY of the ymca prime time sites. Very understaff which is extremely unsafe for how many children are there, no resources or supplies or toys for children, the management of childcare is very poor and doesn’t care about the needs of their staff or their employees.
