Reasonably priced. Check in staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were attempted to be updated though missed lots of things. Parking was a nightmare even in our car. Needs a little TLC.

Upon arrival we were very impressed with the cute retro vibe of the place. Loved the color choices & could tell this older motel had been recently renovated. Checking in early was no problem and the staff was very friendly. Parking was very tight & the pool was much smaller than expected. Our room was cute, but alot smaller than we anticipated as well. The front door, fully closed still had daylight shining thru the top. The first thing we noticed was the couch cushions were very dirty. Everything else seemed clean enough, except the bathroom tiles were somewhat dingy. The small window AC was on full blast in the bedroom but didn't seem adequate to pump to the front bedroom with the pull-out couch, which we hoped was because it had just been turned on & needed time to cool...but we learned unfortunately that wasn't the case. (After one day of being out on the beach an entire day we came back to find a warm room & light on with "filter reset" - luckily the front desk lady who was mid manicure ? came in to save the day and spray off the filter which worked to reset the unit) The beds were made with sheets and a slightly thicker sheet as the "bedspread". No spare blankets anywhere to be found. And when we went to pull out the pull-out couch for the kids, we found crumbs & a strong vomit odor...plus no sheets or blankets to make the bed. When we went to the front office to request these things, we found it was closed. Didn't realize there wasn't someone on staff 24/7!!! The pool was in need of some major repairs. Overall the location to the beach wasn't a bad walk. But this motel is very cosmetic. It looks adorable on the surface. Has a cute retro vibe. But I wouldn't spend the money here again, I'd try somewhere else.
Rooms: Small.
Walkability: Walking distance to the beach

Excellent for the money. Older motel that has been renovated. You can walk to the beach. I showered with hot water, slept and felt rested, and the room was clean. AC is a window unit but it does have an excellent snow setting. If funds are tight or you just need a night for some type of layover, I recommend.

Had a great stay. We were only there one night, but it was the perfect spot. We were having trouble getting a Uber, and a taxi to pick us up in a reasonable time frame. I went to the front desk, they suggested a local service and we were picked up in 5 minutes.
We decided to enjoy the pool before checking out. We packed the vehicle, but forgot about a bag that was placed under the counter. I called the following Monday, the girl at the front desk went and checked, and it was still there. Of all the items in the bag, I was only concerned about a pair of headphones. They put them in the mail and sent them to me in Atlanta. I will most definitely be staying there when I return.
Rooms: We stayed in a suite, the kitchen was nice.

We could not have fallen in love with this motel more! We’d originally planned to stay in Savannah, but our hotel felt very unsafe. I’d made a very last minute reservation at royal palms- even though it was past business hours, they called to confirm the room and send the login code. Clean, darling decor, and easy walk to the beach. Highly recommend!

We came to Tybee for the first time and wanted to stay in something other than the normal on the beach hotels. We booked a room and were not disappointed. It was spacious, nicely decorated to reflect the rest of the motel. The beds were very comfortable and it was a very clean room. Good air conditioning! It is a very short walk to the beach across the street. And close to restaurants and shopping. We were made to feel welcome and at home by Miss Cynthia our hostess. We will surely come back and stay again!
Rooms: The rooms are comfortable, decorated nicely, very comfortable beds, microwave, and refrigerator and coffee maker
Nearby activities: You have the beach you have shopping there’s bike rental Or you can rent a golf cart to get around
Safety: We felt completely safe here
Walkability: You can walk across the street and be a block from the beach
Food & drinks: Well, they do not offer a breakfast. They are only a short distance from all kinds of restaurants that do.

Cynthia is so sweet! She made us feel welcome from the moment we first spoke to her. The room was adorable and perfect for my husband and I (queen deluxe studio). The decorations and the appliances were new and everything worked and was clean. The bathroom was a little warm and stuffy and I see a lot of people complaining about the tiny sink, but honestly a bigger sink would have taken up more room and made it harder to get in and out of the bathroom in my opinion and we didn’t mind the tiny sink. We were here right before the busy season and it was quiet and peaceful for our entire stay. I would come here again. Thank you for everything

I was so excited to try this place, the reviews all talked about it being small but clean. I could do that.
We arrive and our small room looks cute. I check the bed, and don't see any sign of bed bugs, but do see a live black bug of some sort that might have had wings crawling in the bed. It creeped me out but I was going to ignore it. We leave for a couple hours, and when we come back I see another bug crawling across the pillow. At this point there have been 2 live bugs in the bed and I'm uncomfortable sleeping in this bed.
I called the after hours number and left a couple messages, and then we left for dinner.
I did get a call back, and the lady was very nice. She did give us another room, and sent the info so we could get in when we returned.
This new room had a clearly dead black bug with wings in each bed, but I felt better that at least nothing was alive. The ac didn't work in this room, which I did mention, but it was late we were only staying one night and I just wanted rest. The temp wasn't extreme one way or another so it was ok. Once it's all said and done I wouldn't stay here again.

Cynthia was a doll and we were able to get a room that suited us for 1 night. She gave recommendations for dinner restaurants and all the tips to get to the beach! The room has a cute retro feel and for one night it worked for us. The bathroom is hard to maneuver in due to the set up but the bed was super comfortable and the room and bathroom were spotless!
The only downside was we had very rude neighbors who sat outside their room and talked/drank late into the night and they had a barking, whiny dog. There is no soundproofing so we could hear every word. Other than that we would recommend for the price!
