This is our favorite place to stay on Tybee. It's on the "quite" end of the island. It's within walking distance to some great restaurants. It's an updated old-school beach front motel. Oh, and their staff is the best on the island.

Paid over $1,200 for 3 nights. Got beach chairs and private balcony. Unfortunately cigarette smoke kept us from using the balcony most of the time and a fishing tournament we weren't told about kept us from enjoying the beach chairs and going in the water. It's always been hit or miss at DeSoto Beach Hotel but I've never paid so much for a miss. Disappointing.

We were out sitting on the chairs on the beach, we did not know you had to pay for the chairs, and that was fine, but the guy was very rude about it and threw our towels on the ground and said “ima need yall to get on and move”. Was not pleased with his attitude and customer service.

First things first my friends and I checked into the Desoto Beach Hotel on a Friday afternoon. We went to check in the Hernando Ocean View. The front desk clerk at the time was Susan. She was very rude then and every shift she was there she was very unpleasant to deal with. All other staff was great and easy the communicate with.The hotel itself was dated,but clean. From the online pictures we expected more. The pool was not heated and very little ammenties on property. The room felt more like a converted conference room. And being located right at the front desk and lobby was very wierd. For the price we expected more. Also the view from the first floor is blocked by the dunes. Also watch out for the ants when walking around. Enjoyed the island but wouldn't stay here again.

Asked for a handicap accessible room and was given no such thing. There were steps to the entrance and no place to sit for me to shower. When asked if I could be given a discount seeing how we got here at one am, the man said to wait on the manager to come in first thing in the morning. I went and let the woman at the front desk know and explained. She said she would have to contact her boss to get me a ten percent discount. So not only I get a non accessible room, I got the run around about ten percent when I should’ve gotten the full refund in my own opinion. Don’t guarantee a paraplegic a handicap room and not be able to deliver.

Too far from the vendors downtown. Staff are nice but the 11AM Check Out versus the Hard 4PM check in, is a rip off. All of Tybee has beach access. There is no special feature in that claim. The parking is good, the bed was topped and it was broke down. A motion sensor for the HVAC? seriously? The beach shower was good, charging for a chair and an umbrella wad bad. Other hotels offer that stuff for free. Sorry Desoto.

DeSoto Beach Hotel Hallways are a turnoff. They are so dark and dingy. As you walk down the hallway you start to feel worried about what you're room is going to be like. Room is just ok, felt damp, bed was lumpy, the parking was a NIGHTMARE! Very tight space and I got a dent in my truck door by someone! My backyard pool is bigger than their pool. I would look elsewhere next time I visit Tybee. Housekeepers do a great job so I don't have anything negative to say about them.

This was literally the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a hotel. Everyone on the staff was rude, unapologetic, unaccommodating, and apathetic. Do not stay here unless you are INCREDIBLY chill.Before booking, I spoke to Ro Singh on the phone who told me the pullout couch in Terrace 3 was incredible comfortable. Now, I realize he was lying to make a sale.My friend had a horrible night's sleep on the pullout, and was in immense pain. So she woke up our other friend in the middle of the night trying to get in her bed, causing utter chaos. We told the hotel staff what happened and all they did was offer to send extra blankets or a mattress topper (all of which we already had). They were deeply unconcerned and insensitive. Despite my attempts at having a mature problem-solving conversation with various staff members, namely Susan, no one cared at all.TL;DR: Staying at Desoto Terrace 3 was an utter nightmare and the staff were rude.

Super place to stay.Has an elevator from the parking place to the condo, so its very easy to take your luggage up.Excellent family suites with a warm and welcoming ambienceVery safe too.
