Hugh Howell Chevron is Chevron station #301506 located just on the other side of Lawrenceville Highway, southeast of downtown Tucker. You can find it on the corner of Hugh Howell Road and Tucker Industrial Road. I stopped by this gas station to fill up on my way from Atlanta to Smoke Rise Country Club in Stone Mountain, less than 10 minutes away. I visited on a Saturday morning around 9am and the convenience store (Food Mart) had a slow, but steady stream of middle-aged male customers. The gas station has 10 pumps. Pumps 1-8 offer the standard three grades of unleaded (87, 89, 93) and pumps 9-10 offer diesel only. I know this because I accidentally pulled up to pump #10 and quickly realized it was green grip/sticker only (green signifying diesel pump). I used pump #8 and it was in OK condition at best. The transaction display had been vandalized (keyed). I filled up with "Supreme with Techron" (premium). Chevron almost always has higher gas prices than local competitors like QuikTrip and RaceTrac so if I were you, I'd only stop here if I was in a pinch or it was convenient. Techron is a fuel additive exclusive to Chevron. It was released in 1981. According to advertisements and marketing materials, it's supposed to help clean your engine. My 20-year-old engine with well over a quarter-million miles on it still runs fine and has consumed gas mostly from QuikTrip over its lifetime. Both Chevon and QuikTrip were the first two gas distributors to adopt Top Tier Detergent Gasoline. After pumping, I pressed the button for a receipt and I heard the machine working, but no receipt printed. It must've been broken and/or out of paper. At least the paper towels were stocked. The Food Mart's glass front doors are secured with security bars when the convenience store is closed.

Wish i could give this place negative stars. After walking inside to give the clerk a 20 dollar bill for my gas, it turns out he authorized the pump for 50 dollars. I did not pay attention to how much was going in, so when i went back in to pay for it, he demanded me to pay him for his mistake. He even threatened to call the police for stealing, when it was his fault. Overall terrible experience, and would not go again.

If I could give less stars I would! The gas pumps at this location are always having problems. The first time I got gas the pumps were so slow. I just stopped at $4. I told the woman the issue she said it was because of the cold weather. I came here again on a hot day and the pump was slow again! As I pumped my gas I witnessed another man getting frustrated with his gas pump because of how slow it was and he ended up asking for a refund instead of wasting more of his time. It took ten minutes for me to get half a tank of gas. I needed more,but this place is not worth wasting your time or money.I recommend NO ONE to this Chevron.
