It seems like ULTA hires the same type of staff at every location. I walked in and there was no greeting and no sales associate offered any assistance while I was looking around. The item I really came for was unavailable so I ended up just grabbing a small item and went to the checkout. I also came to pick up my free birthday gift. I had the app open so when the assoc asked for my phone number I showed my member ID and barcode (I don't like announcing my phone number in public if unnecessary) the same way I always do. She reacted like scanning my member ID from the ULTA app was not an option. After begrudgingly using the app she then asked to see my driver's license to confirm it was me!!! I've never experienced this before at any ULTA. Another reason I will stick with Sephora.
