412 Church St, Decatur“I’ve walked past this store for years and thought that the sidewalk merch was eye catching, but never actually stopped in to see what was inside.
Today I finally did and I’m grateful for it.
Very friendly and helpful ownership.
The merch… Oh, the merch.
Lots of amazing and unique items.
The artwork they have is very beautiful as well. Ranging from tasteful cookie cutter home to just amazingly bizarre and funny.
I smiled and laughed so many times while appreciating the selection and I wasn’t alone. You could see and hear other shoppers doing the same.
Price wise, it goes from a few dollars to a hundred plus.
With that said, even someone who’s as price aware as me… can appreciate the prices and the quality of the merch.
I’ll definitely be setting a little aside each month to start adding to my art collection, from their selection of beautiful pieces.”
“Black Art Depot has an amazing selection. I’ve purchased art, had framing, purchased hats and other memorabilia. I enjoy working with the staff and enjoy each visit.”

“For my birthday on 4/4, all I wanted was to have a relaxing and fun creative moment. My BF and I booked a pottery class midday @ 1pm. Thanks for offering that on a random Thursday & not a slammed weekend. While our tour & class was conducted by Molly,- skilled artist/teacher of 10 yrs...there were club members creating pottery. Just doing their own thing. Some with headphones on. No one was loud or rude. Lots of convos & instructions going on, but not too distracting. Maybe only up @ the front desk, but they're friendly and trying to help ppl in front of them & on the phone. I'm very proud of my creations & would consider a membership. You book online & reserve your spot for $20 online. You pay in full on the end of the appointment. At the end of the process you pick colors (84 options). The process is to dry out the clay & put in the kiln twice. After about 4-6 weeks you get an email to pick up your items. I'd do it again, for sure!”
“We had never been here before. Never even knew it existed. But a friend has an exhibit currently and we wanted to see his work. Not only was the art amazing and presented in a wonderful space, but the venue hosts several events in different areas at the same time and it was really surprising. We were there during an open mic and the talent we watched was well worth paying for (but it is free!) from poetry, to rap, and amazing (I need to look at a thesaurus!) Theater quality singing.”
