I called due to a conflict in my schedule that conflicted with a previously scheduled appointment. I spoke to a representative about the issue, and she alluded to an unofficial waitlist of sorts that aids in scheduling patients. I gave feedback stating that a waitlist should be official practice policy and can be optimized. She, then, stated that they would discontinue the practice if people were going to be upset. That was very concerning. This is a healthcare facility, and instead of attempting to optimize a process that serves the patient populace, you what? Discontinue it because you received constructive criticism? I asked to speak to the Practice Manager, Cary or Kerry, (however her name is spelt because she chose not to provide that information). She told me that she would put a note in the system and that I should call back at 8AM on the day I was available so that they could work my pups in. Fine; I call back on 6/19 at 8 AM; the phones are busy and don’t have a hold option. It just goes to voicemail or you have to keep calling in. I finally get through at 8:23 AM only to discover that all the appointments are gone, and supposedly, there’s nothing they can do. I asked to speak to the Practice Manager once again, and she was abominable. On Juneteenth of all days, I experienced what many Black patrons have experienced over the centuries. She used words like “intimidate” and “harass” when I neither raised my voice nor was profane. I simply stated that their processes could be improved. She obfuscated/rudely interrupted by saying, “that’s how we do things,” which doesn’t inspire confidence when serving a patient population that cannot advocate for themselves. It is abhorrent that this Caucasian woman in a position of power has attempted to weaponize her words to malign a Black woman. It is disgusting, but not surprising. Her indignant reaction and condescension are indicative of the white fragility I perceived from her and her staff when I simply attempted to speak up for myself. It’s as if they’re saying, “you should know your place.” I won’t be silenced or bullied. I was told that this was a great practice, but based on my interactions, I urge you to avoid. I am going to take my Black dollars elsewhere, and I urge you to do the same. Southside Mobile Veterinary Services is awesome. Dr. Aboko-Cole is amazing and treats your pets with dignity and respect. I’ve been trying to avoid that travel fee, haha. However, I am willing to pay that extra money to be treated well and not like a second-class citizen.

I've taken my pup to HB Veterinary a few times now, My parents used them for many years. I've never felt rushed, or not given enough information. In fact, our vet (Dr. Beckler) has taken the time to discuss any issues and recognized that I'm someone who appreciated detailed knowledge. She provided me with additional good quality reading material to help in our raising and training. I feel genuine interest and a desire to be helpful from the vet and staff. HB also has a patient and helpful front office staff. I wish human doctor's offices would learn from their example. I'm happy with the quality of service here and will continue using HB Vet.

I cannot express how much I would recommend Hudson Bridge Veterinary to everyone! My first litter, one of our pups fell ill and she is 4weeks old. She hadn’t eaten in over 24hours, very lethargic, and her neck was stuck to the side. We could tell she was in pain. Every other clinic I called gave me a time frame of 2wks-2months. With God’s grace, a cancellation made a way for me to rush my baby to them. There wasn’t a wait. The staff was amazingly friendly and welcoming and they made my first frightening experience a gentle one. They treated my baby to the best of there capability and sent us home with some treatments to get her going. 100 out of 100. I was so worried about my baby, but she’s at least eating recovery food like a champ. I thank Dr. Aycock and the entire staff for responding so rapidly and caring for my bully. We will definitely be joining the family!

This place doesn’t care about animals and is money hungry and rude. My wife took our cat there as an emergency bc we discovered a large lump that appeared overnight on him. We’ve moved and had been using a new vet that was closer to us, but they were closed so we took our cat to one we already knew. However, when she got there, they took him back and basically took one look at him and said they couldn’t do anything today and he would need surgery which wouldn’t be until Thursday. They tried to handle him but he was in so much pain he was fighting (which isn’t like him at all). They said “he just doesn’t like being handled” and when my wife explained that he doesn’t act like this, they brushed her off. They said they could fully sedate him and then remove the lump (which they still have no idea what is) and that would be $800 and wouldn’t be done until Thursday. We already had paid $55 for a visit for them to give us NO information. When asked about pain medication, they told us that he didn’t need any.
We took him to another vet since we just didn’t feel right about the whole experience and they asked what his temperature was. HBAC hadn’t even taken his temp! They took it and he was running a super high fever. Once they took him back, they immediately started checking on the lump and determined it was a large abscess with a pocket of infection and they drained it. They then gave him a round antibiotics, some to take home and some pain medication. This cost all less than $200 for immediate action and getting him fully taken care of same day.
I understand that these numbers aren’t high at all in comparison to a lot of pet emergencies but the lack of professionalism and incredible disregard for an animal is so concerning. My cat could have gone in to full septic shock due to the large pocket of infection, had it been neglected. Not to mention that abscesses are EASY to treat and cannot be removed bc is isn’t a mass, it’s just full of fluid. I’m insanely disappointed because I had previously had no issue (I much prefer our new vet, but still no issue with HBAC). I won’t be taking anymore of our animals back due to the lack of care and compassion.
