If you are looking for the fountain of knowledge for training your dog, you came to the right place! I’m extremely satisfied with the services offered by Michael and his daughter. I was given his info by a friend of mine that had some training done and was in desperate need for our boy Bruiser a pit/lab mix to be put into basic obedience with E-collar training. My wife is pregnant with our first child and was getting jerked around on a leash, he wouldn’t listen, digging holes, ripping everything apart the second he was out of site and simply put had his head in the clouds. Michael broke all of these habits and more in 6 weeks with our boy, he is the dog whisperer. The dog we received back was not the same dog I dropped off. Bruiser has been home for just about 3 weeks now with our 2 other boys and it’s been nothing short of an incredible transformation. To say I’m satisfied would be to say the very least. You are in great hands, we can’t thank you enough for training us as well to give our dog a life of understanding and control.

My dog stunk and needed a bath after a week long stay. I thought she would be kept inside away from other dogs but she was traumatized after staying here and acted like she hadn’t had water in a month and could not get enough for a whole week following her stay. This was her 1st time staying here and I was disappointed I received no notifications or updates of how she was doing at any time during her 1 week or even upon pickup. Lesson learned. May be a good place to leave your dog if they stay outside all the time or require more attention.

Before coming to Southern Edge K9, Duke was barking at everyone and everything. I couldn’t walk him through the neighborhood without him trying to jump on all the neighbors and trying to eat everything on the ground. He would never come when called and did whatever he wanted to do. After the first conversation with Michael, I knew he was a dog expert. Without hesitation, I signed Duke up for Bootcamp. Once I brought him home, he was a completely different dog. Michael has given me tons of tools to use with Duke and I already see a tremendous difference. I can now take him out in public with no issues and my baby is even getting ready to take his first airplane ride tomorrow. None of this would have ever been possible without Southern Edge K9.

Best place to take your fur babies for training! Michael goes above and beyond to train you and your fur baby that way at the end of your training you are set up for success! I would 110% recommend Southern Edge K9 to anyone! My fur baby left a changed dog for the better!! Love this place!

Came to Michael with my very fearful hard to manage Labradoodle, Willow. She was scared of everything, couldn’t bring her in public or have new people in my home. She was jumping on guests, knocking over my 8 year old son. Michael was fabulous came up with a plan quickly for her and before I knew it we making the 6 hr drive to GA from NC. During her stay she worked on basic obedience and management of her fears. She’s come such a long way unfortunately I was only able to train with her twice before her return home but he took days out of his time to make sure I was prepared. Not only while I was there but over video while I was in North Carolina. All I can say is WOW! She can walk through a store with out (flying her like a kite) she’s nervous but has the new skills to focus on me and stay calm. We have only been home two days, (I have another doodle in my home) had a concern called he helped me right away. I also went to the groomer they were able to look her over while she stayed still and calm no jumping to greet them or frantic out of control behavior, She’s like a new dog and with consistent effort from me applying all the new skills we’ve learned from Michael I know the sky is the limit and she will only continue to improve! Thank you from the bottom of my heart ! If you are like I was, at your wits end lost just wanting better for your dog and your home, call them! You’ll be so glad you did!

We sent our puppy to obedience training with Michael at Southern Edge K9. He came back a completely changed pup! He was so much more obedient and the transition home was smooth since we ended up getting a cot similar to the one he 'placed' on during training. I highly suggest having a raised cot in your house that noone else is allowed on, especially small kids. This gives him his own personal 'place' and makes down time easier and less stressful for everyone in the house. When it was time for our pup's exit, Michael trained me, the owner, on some proper leash etiquette and basic commands so I felt more prepared to have him back home as well. Our kids were anticipating his back-at-home arrival and it was Michael's brilliant idea to do our public exit training at my child's school during his scheduled Pet Day. My 1st grader was so sad that I told him our dog wouldn't be back in time to make Pet Day and it was SUCH a surprise when he showed up!!!! Picture provided is from Pet Day with two of our four children. Because our pup was at training a little longer than expected and through joint payment, Michael also carried our pup to get groomed for us before coming home as well! Wonderful customer service! We were so pleased with this training experience and plan to use Southern Edge K9 for dog boarding purposes as needed in the future as well.

Michael is without a doubt the best trainer around! My pit-lab mix began having some behavioral issues, so I called Southern Edge K-9 to get an assessment. Michael talked with me for over an hour about why my dog was experiencing issues and what he could do to help, and we decided on basic obedience and leash training for Maverick! I was able to go train with Maverick multiple times a week, which made his transition back home so much easier, and during those training sessions, I was also being trained on how to work with my dog to get the best out of him. Since Maverick has been home, he has done a complete 180 thanks to Michael! I highly recommend Michael and Southern Edge K-9 if you are looking to get the most out of your dog!

Rak’s vet recommended that I reach out to Mike due to him having anxiety and aggression towards other animals and they were concerned that he might become that way with people as well. It was one of the best decision that I could have ever made. Rak loves to train and to work on the skills that Mike taught him. I highly recommend Southern Edge K9

My family and I highly recommend Southern edge k9 for all of your dog training needs! From basic obedience down to behavior modification! Michael took our very skiddish and timid Female GSD puppy and helped her to become a very confident dog. Not only did he provide her with the necessary obedience skills, but at the end of her stay he met with us as a family so that we would have the necessary skills to keep our pup happy! Even after almost 2 years, he still checks in and answers any questions and concerns I may have as she grows into a teenager! What else could you ask for?! That's quality!

I highly recommend Southern Edge K9. I had a difficult situation with my Saint Bernard and thanks to the training she received, we have made miraculous progress in a short time. If you want your dog to grow into its full potential, Southern Edge K9 will teach you and your dog how to get there.

Best trainer around. I brought my frenchie max for basic obedience and advanced obedience. It was a God send. Best decision I ever made. I can actually take my dog places and have control of him. Service was amazing. I really liked how I got to come and train with my dog weekly and get lots of repetitions in with him. It really helped with the transition of coming home. Thank Michael and Southern Edge K9.

I had applied for housing where bully breeds were a banned breed. I was denied housing. I reached out to Michael to have him assess and perform a temperament test on my precious pup Titan. I struck gold. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He was super thorough and exceeded my expectations. He provided documentation, videos, and the results of the temperament test and his evaluation within days. He took the time to take my dog to multiple stores where we were able to show how my dog reacted to different elements in his surroundings and to the people in the public. His price was appropriate and he is a very genuine person. Needless to say I re-applied for the same housing with the packet Michael put together for my family and we were accepted. We couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend him for the variety of dog services his business provides. You won’t be disappointed!! Can’t thank him enough!

Our experience with southern Edge K-9 was beyond amazing! Michael has a true passion for these animals and is a wealth of knowledge! He has been committed to helping our dog, and our family, since the first day we met him.We had a rescue dog that developed some behavioral issues a few months after settling in with us. My 3 year old had become fearful of the dog, and we knew the situation needed a professional. I reached out to Michael and he responded immediately. He came over to evaluate the dog that same afternoon and spent over an hour talking with us and assessing the situation. The dog went through basic obedience training, and we all learned so much. Michael kept our family involved in the whole process, ensuring a successful transition back home. The number one thing I learned is: You get out of your dog what you put into your dog! You and your dog will not regret utilizing their services!
