Diagnosed a bunch of things that weren’t wrong with the car. D & R used to be a good place to take my vehicle but something must of changed with management or maintenance because I feel as if they’ve started to scam their customers.

My step daughter's car was towed here after it broke down. One warning if you're thinking about bringing your vehicle here: DON'T. Just to name a few complaints... Our estimate was $1570 more at this place than it was from the next place we took it. Also, a $200 diagnostic fee is not included in their price gouging estimate. When they found out we weren't going to use them, they attempted to hold our vehicle hostage because "they didn't have time right then to move the car." It took another mechanic shop/tow calling them before they would release our keys. Also the lady at the desk, Taylor I believe was her name, had a piss poor attitude the entire time we dealt with her & was very clearly uninterested in being helpful. From the looks of all their bad reviews, it seems they have an excuse and comeback for all of them, so I'm not even going to waste my time any more than my family already has with these clowns.

My nephew is broke down two blocks from the shop. I called and spoke to a lady and asked her if she could quote out the price of a clutch master and slave cylinder. She said they needed to do a diagnostic first. I explained I just needed a price if this was the problem. She said, I'm sorry I can't quote you a price unless we do a diagnostic. In code this means they want your diagnostic fee up front and if you don't like the price they give you you have to pay a fee. I get it. I'm in the industry for 40 years unfortunately I'm 350 miles away. Customers beware. When shops don't give you prices when you ask for a specific repair generally means you're going to get ripped off. And before all the hate mail starts from the owner of the company please know I asked for a manager or the owner and they would not let me speak to you. I also am a Master certified technician in the St Petersburg Florida area. I hate writing reviews but I also hate deception. It's a shame. All she had to do was quote a price no one ever said they were holding your hand to the fire. So please don't tell me you need to diagnose. At that point after I got the price I was going to have her quote the price for the clutch, pressure plate and bearing assembly.
I refuse to believe a reputable shop cannot quote a price when a customer wants something.
So that means if I call your shop and ask you how much an oil change is with a cabin filter and air filter, you have to diagnose it first? Let that sink in ladies and gentlemen and as I said previously. Buyers, customers beware.

This place worked on my car several different times and each time time they found something different I don’t understand why everything wasn’t found and diagnosed the very 1st time this place is a money pit save your cash and go elsewhere where the mechanics and owner has integrity and is honest about how they do business but trust and believe liars and thieves will definitely not inherit the kingdom of heaven, but will be baptized in fires of hell forever you definitely not live forever straight crooks ???

For starters they ordered the wrong size tires and took the old ones off before checking so I was stuck there from 8-11:30 in the morning..The tech also snapped the piece that keeps my window on the track as the motor pushes it up and now my window is stuck halfway down and before I could shimmy it back in place while the part I ordered comes in it started pouring and now my car is flooded. They're car check was also crap. Claimed no oil leak when I can see plain as day the valve cover gasket on the left side of the head is leaking. Would have been 5 stars if they offered some kind of discount for the major inconvenience (or apologized which they didn't) or had fixed the window they broke. At this point I would not recommend taking your car to D&R
If they were to reach out and remedy the situation I'd have no problem changing the 1 star rating but at the current time a 1 star is exactly what they deserve.

They got caught trying to rip me off and a manager laughed it off a used part they wanted to charge me $300 for. Another car care center was honest and agreed to install my part and charge me a fair amount of Labor. They should be ashamed they got caught red-handed they are greedy and tried to price gouge. No one explained anything about the new cost for the part you offered me a used part with no warranty for $300 do not try to come back and change the narrative now. I found a much better place who was honest

Took my volkswagen passat on 6/28/2024...charged me $212 for a diagnostic fee...which we were told this would be applied to repair cost, then charged an additional $169...saying more diagnostic and labor was needed...and that they had found issue and now it would be fixed before closing and that we could come and pick car up...about closing time we get an invoice, not even a call... for almost $6,000,saying we need a new module and coding programming etc. wow...scammers and liars...got recorded phones and paperwork to prove this...so unprofessional and incompetent...was told techs programming and coding repeatedly failed and at our expense, and that we had to pay to get keys back...money and time wasted...and preyed on us to try and get thousands of dollars...beware beware!!!

My son took his vehicle there (GSU Student) to look into a transmission issue. Shop said there would be $190 diagnostic fee that would not go towards the repair cost. That seems very out of line in my opinion except if he didn’t have it fixed there. It was a blessing that they said they could not get to it for a couple days, fair enough. My son had a buddy who has good experience working on cars and figured out in minutes it needed a rear shift cable, cost $63 at a dealer. He gave his buddy $50 to fix it, took about 20 minutes. So $113 to get it fixed versus $190 just to look at it. Beware of this place. We will certainly not get ripped off by them.

Great service and a great team. I’ve been told the are alittle more expensive but they do an in-depth inspection with every one of my oil changes and are more than willing to make sure the job is done. Recently had them replace my suction line for my AC. A week later it seemed to be making strange sounds. They quickly got me scheduled in and checked everything they could with the AC and figured out it was more than likely the expansion value. In and out in a reasonable time and I know that if I need anything else done on my car they will make sure the job is correctly done.
