Kessa is an amazing hair stylist. I’ve been going to her for 4 years. She’s professional and extremely knowledgeable. She cares about your hair journey . The salon is clean and very tastefully decorated.

I had the worst experience with Kessa this morning. I had an 11:00 appointment in which I arrived on time for only to find out that she left to grab breakfast knowing that she had me scheduled for 11. The fact that I was considerate & did not stop and grab breakfast prior to my appt was only because I did not want to be late & inconvenience her. I waited a few minutes for her to get back & then tried calling her to let her know that I was going to head up the street & grab something to eat as well, but she did not pick up. When I got back to the salon she had another client in the chair. I explained to her that my appt was at 11 & her response was so nonchalant. She basically told me that she's only curling the clients hair for me to have a seat & pick a color. The attitude she gave me was so disgusting as if I did something wrong. I tried to look pass it being that I drove a whole hour but I would rather take that loss. As much as I love to support black businesses sometimes it isn't worth it. Her customer service was horrible & she didn't even try to accommodate me. I definitely won't be back !!

The first time receiving such a luxurious treatment while getting my hair done. The atmosphere was very relaxing. The entire experience was enjoyable.

She has a great personality and communication with that being said I have enjoyed every single appointment up until my birthday when I scheduled a microblading and hair dye session with her. I asked for a Auburn Red I got a brown because she didn't have the color available not my fault she could have asked me to buy the color I desire never an option. Then the microblading started which I expected to have pain but was pleasantly surprised it felt as if nothing was happening. Oh yeah that's because nothing was happening she didn't go deep enough and by day 3 all the strokes and color was gone. I wasted $400 on something I could have done with a eyeliner pencil for free.

I wish I could give Kessa no stars!! I walked in with my daughter and Kessa was working on a client. She greeted us with how can I help you? I explained I had an appointment for my daughter. Backstory, I am sick but didn’t want to cancel, because as a former stylist, I know the frustration of last minute cancellations. We waited 20 mins for her to take my daughter. Once In her chair, I explained we had a Groupon. Immediate attitude. I explained my daughter wanted a silk press after having had a texturizer. She takes my daughter to the shampoo bowl and then comes out to ask me why her hair isn’t straight and smooth. Ummm because it’s texturized. She tells me it’s no such thing. Ummm texturizing is a technique using the same chemicals as a relaxer, but not straightening the hair completely. Nonetheless I asked her what she suggested, she stated doing a relaxer. That’s no what we came in for. She claimed she didn’t want to put heat on her hair. Even if she had done the relaxer she still would’ve had to apply heat. She then calls Groupon to cancel the order. Fine but proceeds to be extremely patronizing and rude as I take my disappointed daughter out the door. Don’t waste your money. Even with a Groupon.

Please go see Kessa for your hair care needs. This has been a first in a long time, where I felt that I went to a trustworthy and knowledgeable stylist. Not only did she do a great job on my color and silkpress but she gave me advice on how to take care of my hair at home. I do like the fact that she will not color your hair without doing a consultation first. Had a great experience and will be back soon!
