I love how they retreated us and give us everything my dog needed to get better. They have very good price as well. I highly recommend them and will keep going into their office.

It has taken me over a year to be in the right frame of mind to write this.Nothing the staff at this clinic can say or do will ever make things better, or change my mind. Ever.I have PTSD from the military. Understand that first. My 4 year old cat had been gaining weight at a rapid rate, and I was concerned. She had behavioral issues as well that concerned me. My previous vet had changed staff and ... let's just say I no longer felt welcome there. I brought my girl to this vet because they had seen another cat under emergency circumstances and that had gone well (roommate's cat, not mine).I was already upset. I wasn't in the right frame of mind. I was afraid for my baby - I knew she didn't like strangers, and this clinic does not allow you back with your pet. I discussed everything going on with her with the vet.He recommended euthanasia.I did not take my baby here to put her down. That was the last thing on my mind, the last "solution" for her problems. But he pressured me into it. He didn't tell me "go home and think about it." He told me "it's the right thing to do. "Plenty of people put their cats down for these issues." "You're not a bad person for doing this."I reiterate, I was not in the right frame of mind. And you will never, EVER know how that eats at me now.I let him convince me it was the only course of action. $600 later, I have her ashes to remind me how absolutely STUPID I was. Why didn't I just walk out?Because he convinced me it was right. He used the right words, in the right tone of voice, and now my baby is gone forever.Again, there is NOTHING this clinic can say to me to make things right. I pulled my other cat immediately (I was told she was very fractious and feisty, yet the next vet I took her to - who let me go back with her - she was absolutely wonderful for, so what did they do to her to make her feisty and fractious I wonder) and went elsewhere.I understand that some people have had wonderful experiences here. I'm glad they were good to you. I'm glad they did the right thing for YOUR baby. But they sure did NOT for mine.

This place is nothing short of amazing! My Shih Tzu doggie Bella had an ear infection a few weeks ago, & her regular Vet clinic was full & not avail for several days. I was referred here, & they were open & had a slot avail right away! Dr. McClean and his lovely wife were amazing. His bedside manner is very caring and gentle. You can tell he has a genuine love for our furry friends/family members. You will not go wrong giving this New Vet ofc a try. Please give them a chance, you will be a forever customer for sure like us. We love them. Bella does too!

I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone to bring their pets here, especially their cats. I had been seeing Dr. McClean for a little under a year. He has treated two of my four cats and I thought I had finally found a good vet that was close to home. Unfortunately for me, that is not the case. Dr. McClean and his staff talked down to me and laughed in my face while I was almost in tears over my cat Phoebe's urinary tract infection. My cat is very fearful of strangers, shutting down when around them, often letting procedures be done to him without sedation or needing to be held down because he is so frightened. Dr. McClean and his staff told me he seemed "fine" and began fawning over him for being so "calm", when in reality he was horrified and anyone who knows anything about cat behavior would be able to tell this. They laughed when I told them that hearing even the smallest noise outside can cause him to hide for hours and directly declined when I asked if there was any sort of medication we could give him to help with his quality of life, because he is just so frightened all the time and can't seem to enjoy anything. The medicine Dr. McClean prescribed to my cat for his UTI ended up not working. I did everything as I was supposed to and I called at the end of the course antibiotics and told them he seemed to still be in pain and was still struggling in the litter box. Dr. McClean said it was a "behavioral issue". The truth is, he was still sick and now a month later we had to rush him to another vet who THANKFULLY handled us and Phoebe's condition with great care. Our new vet, Paces Ferry Veterinary Clinic, immediately could tell that Phoebe was very scared and withdrawn and not "calm" how Dr. McClean and his staff suggested. I am so grateful to have found a different vet that I can put my faith in and that I know will listen to all of my concerns and not brush them off the way the staff at Veterinary Care at Belmont have. I would absolutely not recommend anyone coming here.

Our pup had a minor emergency and Dr McClean at Belmont was able to get him in right away. He provided great service and seemed like a compassionate and caring doctor. The office was convenient and clean and the staff all were very warm to us. Would highly recommend.

My cat is a high anxiety, scaredy cat, and she had no problems here. Hamdulilah the staff were nice, informative, and transparent with all pricing, and the space was very clean. We will be coming back!

Neglectful Vet - DO NOT RECOMMENDIn short: I dropped my dog off for an early morning appointment. She was pushed to have her surgery completed at the end of the day ~5PM. No call, text, or message from the Vet to let me know my dog had been rescheduled. Further, my dog has severe separation anxiety - had we known she would be pushed, we would have rescheduled. Their inability to even contact me gives me zero hope that she was cared for during the entire day she was stuck in a cage. They asked that she start fasting the night before, so it was almost 24 hours before she had food. The list goes on with this vet's inability to schedule and properly care for animals. I do not recommend under any circumstances. I fully believe he will cause significant harm to an animal one day. Their rectification of the issue is to mark my file that I would stay with her the whole day? Complete lack of understanding, compassion, or responsiveness.

I was a customer at Veterinary Care of Belmont for ~17 months and, after recent events, I will never go back. My sweet cat died in the custody of Dr. McLean on 5/31/23; little more than an hour after I had dropped him off. My cat was admittedly sick (which I will explain below); however, I firmly believe that this office's ignorance & negligence heavily contributed to my cat's death. I encourage you to seek better care for your pet. In February, my cat was breathing heavy, living by the water bowl, and over-urinating. To a qualified individual, these would be clear signs of an infection, thyroid issue, or diabetes. After a $347 visit which included an x-ray and bloodwork, Dr. McLean simply said my cat was constipated. A couple weeks passed and the symptoms didn't improve. So I spent another $335 on a second visit and more bloodwork to correctly diagnose diabetes. My cat suffered additional time due to ignorance at best; carelessness at worst. I learned quickly about the disease and poured hundreds of dollars into supplies & food. With diabetic patients, it's important to understand how their glucose level fluctuates during the day. Dr. McLean's archaic approach to that was to put a port in my cat's leg so that we could take blood draws every 4 hours over a weekend. I don't know why he didn't suggest a simple blood meter or a modern Bluetooth sensor. The port and blood draws were a waste of time & money ($458). I was not given a good strategy for dealing with the diabetes and my cat continued to suffer. I'll never forget the night he was severely hyperglycemic and the doctor suggested I give him 3ml of corn syrup. That led to an office visit the next day (early April) for fluids, more bloodwork, and a ketones test to the tune of another $425. As I learned more, I decided to put a glucose sensor on my cat. Dr. McLean initially protested. But I bought a sensor and paid the doctor $145 to install it. The sensor undoubtedly extended his life, giving me precise glucose readings. I was using the Freestyle Libre 3 system and bought a dedicated cell phone to receive the data. The sensor had to be replaced every 2 weeks. I was charged ~$90 for each re-install. Interestingly, that price included $39 for a technician to spend less than 5 minutes shaving a small spot on my cat for the sensor, using a ~$20 quiet electric razor. I've read that, when treated properly, 1 in 3 cats can go into diabetic remission. Thanks to diet improvement and insulin adjustments, my cat was down to a small fraction of a unit of insulin, per day, in late May. His diabetes was going away. But he was still breathing heavy. For some strange reason, I still trusted Dr. McLean. And I tried multiple times, multiple ways (phone call, voicemail, e-mail) in late May to get guidance on the situation. The doctor didn't react or respond to my cat's symptoms, the worry in my voice, or the frequency/urgency of my contacts to his office. That is blatant negligence in my eyes. On May 31st, my cat was still breathing heavy and conveniently he was due for a glucose sensor change. I took my cat in, dropped him off, agreed to some bloodwork with Dr. McLean, and went home. An hour or so later, the doctor called me and said my cat was struggling & needed to go to Blue Pearl. Confused & scared, I gathered some things, left the house, and was back at the vet office in less than 30 minutes. But I was too late. My cat died before I could reach him. There are no words for how badly my heart broke that day. Suffering from pronounced diabetes for so long damaged my cat's heart and caused fluid to build up in his body. It's my opinion that, had the doctor been more capable of handling the disease and if he had been less negligent in that final week when I was desperate for help, my cat might still be living. I failed my cat and wasted a ton of money by taking him to Veterinary Care of Belmont. Please don't make the same mistake I did.

We’re new in the area and we’re so thankful to have found this vet clinic. Initially, we came here because my dog ate a new food and it didn’t sit well with her. Dr. McLean was so caring and attentive to my dog, Sugar. He prescribed her medications and gave her a shot. It took almost two weeks for her bowels to be normal again. Then a week later, we came back because Sugar was attacked at the dog park. I called the vet clinic the next day to set an appt and they were ready to help me out. All the staff came in and took care of her. She ended up with 4 staples on her right ear.Her staples are removed now and she’s healing well! I just want to thank the staff in VeterinaryCare at Belmont for being so friendly, caring, and attentive to my dog and to us. I feel better and relieved knowing I can rely on the staff and the clinic in any situations.
