We have been bringing our pets here for 30 yrs. We've never had a bad experience ever. They love our pets as much as we do. My husband's family started coming here in the mid 70's. All of the ladies that work here are fabulous and Dr Griffth as well. These ladies are extremely busy many times when we come in. But they have always made us feel at home, went above and beyond for our precious babies. I would without a doubt recommend Smyrna Animail Hospital to everyone. I'd never take our babies anywhere else.

If I could give a negative star review, I would.I have never experienced poorer customer service at any business in my entire life. I have been handed the wrong heartworm medication by staff. (My dog is clearly large and the vet tech handed me heartworm medication for a dog from 1-25 pounds.)DO NOT DROP your pet off for their drop off service. They will be stuck in a kennel all day and not allowed to use the restroom. Why do I know this you might be asking yourself.Well, I had an appointment for the vet to take a look at my dogs ears after they had given us a treatment regiment for his ear infection as well as taking blood to be examined. I dropped him off at my scheduled time of 9am. By 1:00pm He still had not seen the vet. I had to come pick him up before 3:00pm because I had an appointment I needed to attend. When I showed up to pick him up not only did they fail to actually look at his ears, but they gave me an atrocious attitude at the front desk by the manager. Basically telling me it was my fault that he did not get looked at.I get him back in the car and notice that his fur is matted and wet. He's COVERED in urine.I had to go to the pet store immediately because I needed to get dog shampoo. While walking through the aisles with him, he releases his bowels all over the store. THEY HAD NOT LET HIM OUT OF THE KENNEL SINCE 9AM. I had not let him use the bathroom before because they always need to get a sample. If you care about the wellbeing of your animals, look elsewhere for a vet. We have not and will not ever be back to this establishment.

The one star rating is for the large African American female at the front desk with a horrible attitude and lack of customer service today 7/24. My partner and I were giving the names of the pets to a tech who was making a call to the back when she called one dogs name correctly and another’s dog name that we didn’t own. As we are patient and understanding we simply told her the dogs names again not to receive the wrong pooch. When the woman mentioned with a very nasty attitude interjected, not even once saying hello as I stood at her window. Her aggressive attitude is what warranted review for what should have been a routine pickup that had nothing to do with her from beginning to closing out the process. After discussing the pickup process with my parents have had a similar experience with her hostile attitude during boarding in 2023 and I will not stand for continuing disrespect! If you treat patrons this way then what are you doing to animals that have no voice? Unacceptable and unwarranted verbal attack.

I only have one thing I can thank this vet for and that is for being so terrible and uncaring that we found Apex Animal Hospital. There is one friendly front desk person and I believe her name is Kelly. Other than that everyone is indifferent and rude. I actually had no idea how bad it was there until I went to Apex for the first time and had the best experience I have had at a vet office. Our beautiful orange tabby, Chester, was just diagnosed with vesibular disease. It is a very scary disease. Their world is spinning so they cannot walk or hold their head level. We found him in the morning and went directly to Smyrna Animal Hospital. When we walked in they were taking pictures of each other, and we walked in with clear terror and tears because we did not know if our Chester (an establised patient) was going to be ok. Kelly noticed right away and showed compassion, while the other front desk person continued laughing and asked if we wanted a picture of Chester with a crown on........Then she went back to tell the doctor we were there to see if they could look at him. With total indifference, she came back out and said "we cannot do anything"....So they sent us 15 minutes away ,after the doctor did not even come out, to Dogwood Emergency Hospital. This is not the first terrible experience I have had there, but I always just gave the benefit of doubt that they may not be friendly to people but they loved animals. They clearly do not love animals because when one of their patients is in serious medical need they just say "nope". Please take my experience and keep your animals away. I have never even met the doctors there by the way. They do not let owners back there. My guess now is our Aussie, Kimchi, is terrified of that place because he is so smart and they have been mistreating him. He whines and pees on the floor there he is so terrified. I thought he was just a little nervous, now think it may be due to mistreatment. Kimchi started there when he was a puppy and grew to dislike it there he did not start out that way.

Great mom and pop veterinarian with short term access. So, you don't have to have an appointment a month in advance.

We wanted a second opinion on our sweet baby boy, Septimus (15-year old cat born on 07/07/2007). The team was amazing and fit us in the same day we called; Dr. Griffith's patience and compassion for us, and our precious "first born," was off the charts and helped to ease the anguish of a terminal diagnosis. We are cherishing every moment and will definitely be coming back as the rest of our kitties need attention. Thank you for being salt and light in a world that becomes darker by the day; may God continue to bless you, your practice, and your patients. <3

They were nice at first but at the end of it when they called me to get my dogs they were rude , and they didn’t warn me about the price I went specifically for flea medication, but they ended up charging me for a lot of things I didn’t ask for the bill ended up $700 , imagine I was someone who didn’t have that ? will not be going back ever . MEDICATION I was given didn’t even work . I even shower my dogs daily ..?

I give this 4 stars. It's worth the 5 but somethings. One thing is I love the most is Kelly. She's just great. They people up front has changed. They all are nice and very helpful. This place has to be the busiest vet office I have ever been in. Never a slow down time anytime iv went in. Sometimes that can be frustrating when you are waiting on your pet. It's never an "in and out" situation. That being said, I understand the craziness in the amount of animals that go in and I'm sure it's hard for the vet to keep up with every animal, but as many times as we have went in, you would think the doctor would know our pet by now.Instead iv recieved calls from the doctor asking me questions and suggesting things like blood work and exrays again after having that done only a couple months earlier for a different visit. He should have been looking in my pets file instead of calling me. And this was just for allergies.I would like it if he was more personal in knowing of the animals. He is a great doctor. He is very thorough and will come and speak to you about what he has done.Sometimes it just seems like money pit.Vet bills are pretty pricey. We have never been there without paying atleast $250-$300 and up. Every visit.I recommend Dr. Griffen and Smyrna Animal hospital, just remember $$$ and busy busy busy. Your pet will be in great hands tho
