Perfect option to gather with friends. Many options of fresh sushi/sashimi that were truly bite sized! . The beef skewers were flavorful and medium rare. Staff were friendly and engaging and responded seamlessly to special requests. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. This is the room for those who prefer business casual.

Had a group of 12 and site in a very nice private room. Service was horribly slow, at one point we had to go ask the manager to please come take our orders. The “seafood tower” was an embarrassment in terms of quality and taste. The entrees were average at best Given all the hype, this was a huge disappointment and I would have a hard time recommending….the other restaurants at the cloister were far better

Super yummy filet. They redid the resturant and it is such a nice ambiance. Great service and super sweet staff.

We were a party of four couples, staying for the weekend at the Cloister Cottages, and we were pleased to learn from the concierge that the Georgian Room restaurant had recently re-opened after a multi-year closure and renovation. They will very likely get their service back to a high standard (they were once lauded as one of the finest dining venues in the South), but they are not there yet... not even close. Problems started at the reception desk when we learned their dress code is more strict than as mentioned on their website and booking confirmation (man's jacket is required for a short sleeve dress shirt). Then, the eight of us had been split into two tables of four (no prior disclosure), and it was an awkward wait as they created what was expected as a table for eight. Wine list prices are sky high (we estimated 400 per cent markup) and no BYO with corkage. Food ordering went smoothly, but when mains were served, three of the eight orders were the wrong items... one was a substitution with the explanation that what was ordered was not available... they had over an hour to correct that fault, but chose to embarrass the lead server, who had to return the wrong item and deliver a replacement main to one guest 20 minutes after the others had finished this course. The front of house team are all wearing Forbes Five Star lapel pins, but this is not a Forbes rated restaurant now. And until they sort out these issues, it likely would not pass a Forbes inspection. Give it a year... they will likely try hard to recover. Floor manager comp'd our wine, but the evening was not what we had anticipated.

While it has not to be fully announced; The Georgian Rooms (lounge side) will be triumphant as a Japanese/Sushi experience! The sushi is begging to understand the complexity of flavors! The taste of truffle and yuzu are delightful, but the underlying hint of something special is mystifying. The knowledge from the server is highly respectful. As they not only guide you through the journey, but leave you salivating for the next course. Pairings of sake and a development of speciality cocktails elevates this experience towards not only the unique and sublime, but the realization of harmonious. Adding the fine dining and southern charm, from what you expect as a 5 star experience, you are left wanting to start from the beginning. The dessert offerings will not only leaving you speechless, but the heavenly balance of sweet and flavorful is a true powerhouse of the pastry chef. I have never been "hushed" by a dessert made from meringue, but the quite exaltation, from the table, demonstrates the quality and craftsmanship. This will be an offering and revitalization of the lacking Japanese cuisine the island needs.

Is this place ever going to open again ? Not planning to visit Sea Island (to stay on site anyway) until it does. Management - what's preventing you opening this venue again ?

For the best dining experience at Sea Island - go to the Georgian Room. You have to dress up - but that only enhances your experience for a culinary delight. Well worth the money - but make a reservation as they're not open every night.

WONDERFUL venue to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Every detail from the greeting to the farewell was exceptional. Laszlo was our principal server and he was extremely knowledgeable about cuisines and wines. We opted for the 6 course Tasting menu with wine pairings. Two especially memorable items were a champagne upgrade to Tattinger’s COMTES 2007 vintage and a beef upgrade to A5 Waygu which compared to butter or foie gras in texture. The entire menu was wonderful. OH my, truly a great evening. In addition to our desserts, individual chocolate soufflés we were served a Baked Alaska flamed tableside. Our hostess, Brielle was perfect, delightful and memorable. Definitely a special place.

The restaurant served dinner at a perfect speed and the ambiance allowed conversation without straining to hear. Chef Aaron and Sommelier Brandon were highly professional and very co-operative. The evening was relaxed and most enjoyable. Thanks to all the team

My husband and I have had the opportunity to experience fine dining at it’s best, but the Cloister’s Chef’s Table surpassed any experience we have ever had. From the moment we walked into the kitchen, we were greeted by every chef and the entire wait staff as if we were royalty. We were taken to a special room that overlooked the kitchen so that we could watch the well orchestrated creations that would be coming our way. 12 courses later, our palates had experienced an event like no other! Chefs Eric and Aaron kept everyone in check with the seamless flow of dishes. We feasted on delicacies that matched no other. The meal took over 3 hours, but we wouldn’t want to miss a bit of it. All I can say is WOW!!! Every bit of it was delicious!!! And the chefs were so approachable. They came by and spoke to us several times during the meal. Our servers were Willie and Justin and they were helped out by Brandon and Nicolas. They were so knowledgable about the wine pairings and every aspect of the dishes served. They made the experience what it was-PERFECT! We pray that we will be able to experience such an event in the future because it was MARVELOUS!!!

The food and service are amazing as you would expect. The wine list reads like an encyclopedia. The one negative is that the lights were too bright the night we were there which hurt the ambiance.

The Georgian Room was elegant, with an emphasis on service. The staff was extremely attentative and accommodating for any food request. If you don't have a jacket, gentlemen, never fear, they will loan you one!! Food portions are extremely small so don't expect a full meal to be had by ordering one or two items. This is a full-meal experience with several courses spread over the course of the evening so make time to stay and enjoy the experience.

My husband and I spent our anniversary dinner at The Georgian Room. Previous reviews indicated this was a must. From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel special. It was a bit cool in the dining room and the hostess immediately brought me a shawl. What a nice touch! The dinner was worthy of the 5-Star rating. The staff was superb, knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth the money.
