Thrifty car rental is a franchise so they are owned by different people which means Thrifty ( the main company) can not help you out at all. We had a vehicle that we tried to extend but could not get anyone to answer on the numbers provided by Expedia or the one on the actual contract. We tried all weekend to contact them to no avail. They never tried to call the alternative number on the contract (mine) just my husband on his work phone which he did not have over the weekend. An email was sent to an old email address which is how I finally found the number that worked. As you can see lots of miscommunication. The vehicle would have been due back at 3:30 today but they came & took it this morning. My 2 biggest issues are that they didn't even try my number which I have on all the time & the fact that the manager Grafton was not at all willing to work with me. He just immediately put my husband on a do not rent. They had my credit card, they knew where the truck was at all times ( not headed out of the country). I own a small company too & I try to work with other small businesses but for him to have no give at all on a one time thing is unforgivable. Needless to say even though I can rent from them I will never do it again & I rent a lot of vehicles throughout the year. So Grafton you just go have yourself a Merry Christmas & I'm sure Santa, I mean Karma will bring you what you deserve.DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!

When we went to pick up my rental, the girl at the coutner that originally seemed nice (Atlanta), wouldn't explain costs or coverages with me. When I asked if I could add my wife she said "no problem" I then asked if there was a charge? She said "I'll take care of this for you". I then found out that indeed there was a $145 charge to add my wife to the rental (who never drove the car) If I knew there was a charge I never would of added her. You might think it would be on my paper work, NOPE! Also when they ask you to sign the electric signature pad, you don't get to see what you are signing. SO ASK! They love to hide stuff clearly. After I notcied the extra $145 in charges on my credit card, I then called into customer service and was told "I'll note the file and you can remove her but you will be charged the 2 days, you need to go into a thrifty store to get this done" so I then went into the Savannah thrifty at the airport only to be told to another super rude woman at the counter "we aren't corporate, I can't help you with your rental, you need to call a corporate store or go back to Atlanta (which wasn't an option). After asking for more help with this she just kept her arms crossed and said "nothing I can do, call corporate"When I got back from my vacation I again tried to call to get this resolved, in a very "polite" way I was told the charges were valid and they wouldn't do anything for me, even though my wife never drove the car and I tried to get out of this right away. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Customer service does NOT exist with this company SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!!!

The renting process was quick and easy. The vehicle was excellent, brand new with all the bells and whistles. No hassles at all picking the van up or dropping it off. Great job!

My Savannah, GA airport car rental was smooth and problem-free. However, customers were not made aware of the requirement to show proof of auto insurance until they reached the rental counter. It wasn't a problem for me, but it was a problem for others, and it created some delays. I think customers should be informed of this requirement at the time of booking - in conspicuous, BOLD LETTERS.

I arrived at the Savannah Airport and found the Thrifty rental office readily available but, no cars were available in the category I rented. I was upgraded and got out quickly. Since they didn't go with me to examine the vehicle, I had to agree to take pictures of the vehicle and send the pictures to their website to record any damage I found when I picked up the vehicle. This made me a bit nervous because their website wouldn't allow all my pictures to be sent, but it all worked out. All-in-all I was very satisfied and would rent from Thrifty again!

Car reservation confirmed on line but still had to wait in line at airport. I selected the 'Wild card" to save money but turned out to be a RAM gas guzzling truck. Should have selected an Economy class car for just few bucks more online. At the counter, it cost more than double to switch to Economy. Overall, the counter service was excellent - agent was proficient, professional, easy to understand. Pick up was simple and right outside the terminal the airport in Savannah. Return just as simple. Lesson - don't go for the Wild Card option - will likely be something no one else wants to rent!

I would highly recommend booking with a more reputable car rental agency. One should only book here if they want to live with the uncertainty of not getting a car. Brief story. Booked with thrifty several days before my trip. Everything was confirmed. I arrived well before it closed to be met by a piece of paper, print it out from Microsoft word that says in large font, go to Hertz desk. Isn't that strange? I let the gentleman at the Hertz desk know that I had rented from thrifty. He gave a big eye roll. He said they put out the sign didn't they? He let me know that that's the standard procedure when they run out of cars. At that point, unfortunately they didn't have a car and neither did almost any other car rental agency at that point. I think it's an absurd business practice, and terrible customer service to give no attention or notice to those that had rented a car. Even an email or simply not allowing me to rent a car would be ok. At least more than putting up a sad little sign, hoping not to get in trouble with their customers. I've never rented with thrifty before, and I definitely won't be renting with them again. I plan to let their corporate office know about this issue. Several other people ran into the same exact problem and it's clearly recurrent. Just book with somebody else, this was a hassle.

According to the invoice, I returned the car 3 minutes late. When I noticed the $28.97 late charge, I called to see if I could get any grace for 3 minutes. I was certain I was probably in the return line by then. The manager pulled up my information and said it was actually due by 9:15...a whole 3 minutes earlier than what was on the invoice. I asked her if they had cameras, and she said yes, that is what the attendant goes by, and that he was just doing his job. I use to love this place. Never again!!

We really enjoyed our rental experience! Our only complaint is that the rental desk employees weren’t very friendly. As for the car we loved it! We only had an issue with connecting our android device to the car which caused a bit of an issue when it came to navigating the city. It would have been nice to be able to reach out to someone for help. Anyways, it was a great experience. Definitely recommend.

I can not express enough the service I received at Thrifty. I accidently put my wallet down in the trunk of the car. The staff on duty quickly went into action. They tracked the car, found my wallet , returned it to me and I even made an earlier flight. Good service is hard to get these days, but the staff on duty at 2:00pm in the rental return on 10/6/2023 at the Savannah Airport was nothing short than awesome. My car was nice and clean. The staff was extremely polite, understanding and efficient. Kudos and I will use Thrifty again.

Low tire when I picked it up, truck dirty and I did not reserve truck. Was told the car I had reserved as an additional $32 a day. Filled up tire and made it to destination. 2 days later, tire was flat! Spent 2 hours calling and no one ever picked up the phone! Bought fix a flat, refilled tire and managed to make it to airport 1 and 1/2 hour away. Ruined my vacation, due to stress about tire. Will never ever use Thrifty, and will voice my experience on social media. Thanks for horrible horrible attention to detail and customer service.

Quick and easy to reserve online. When I arrived at the desk at the airport, there was only 1 person being helped, and they quickly finished. I was greeted in a friendly and professional manner by the desk agent and the transaction was handled promptly. I was very pleased with the vehicle (Chrysler Pacifica) which was clean and exactly what we needed. Would definitely rent form them again if the need arises and would/will highly recommend Thrifty.

Rented a vehicle during my vacation, the vehicle was nice and clean. On the last day Hurricane Idalia came through and canceled all flights in area. The company would not rent me a car to travel back to Delaware. I was stranded with my family and all the Hilton Head Airport staff wanted was my car to rent to someone else who wanted to stay in area. I was forced to rent another vehicle from Budget rental.

I had initially booked a Red Compact car, but upon my arrival, I was unexpectedly provided with a White Charger, which is known for its higher fuel consumption. I promptly informed the customer service agent that my reservation was for a different vehicle, but he informed me that the Charger was the only available option. To add to the inconvenience, I noticed a small charge on my bill two months after my trip, without any accompanying explanation. I made multiple attempts to contact the rental agency at Savannah Airport, both through phone calls and online chat with an agent, but unfortunately, neither method proved successful in reaching them.
