I've never moved such a large move as this one or used a moving company but NILSON VAN was AMAZING!!! I had such a wonderful experience. They arrived on time, took great care of each of my furniture pieces, everything delivered in a timely manner without ANY issues. Joe and his teams in both state locations were professional, nice and did an amazing job wrapping everything up so it was protected and in the same shape arriving. He and his teams were like human machines! I can NOT say enough wonderful things about them. It was a top notch move and moving team that I wouldn't use anyone else BUT them should I move again or have a friend needing to move. They were so professional, talked me through everything, followed up, arrived on time, explained the process, answered all questions and took care of all my boxes and furniture plus the 200 plus pictures, lamps, tvs, rugs, computers, etc that I had them pack for me. I have nothing negative to say from this team of experts! They know how to do it! EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!

Posting on behalf of Mrs. Castenfelt: Nilson Van and Storage did an amazing job! Courtney was very good at communicating and coordinating schedules. The driver, Sheldon, and his crew were terrific. They went above and beyond to make sure there was no damage to my home or my household goods. They were so easy to work with and were very accommodating to my requests. They were the best unloading/unpacking crew I have ever had!

The guys were great! Handled things with great care .. Helped with proper placement and were fun and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend to others to use. I'll use them again my self!

BE AWARE! If you are in the military and ended up with them, PLEASE REQUEST SOMEBODY ELSE OR DO IT YOURSELF. By far the worst in every segment. If they agree to certain numbers of packing days, there would be a lie. If they said, they sent requests for framing, there would be another lie. If they say, your property is NOT going to be in a storage, there would be lie. They do NOT want to help and they will NOT listen to your issues either. Avoid them as much as possible.

I too, agree that if I could give them a zero I would. I have had many corporate moves using large national van lines, so when I needed two moves, both locally and at my vacation property in NC as well as longterm storage during a re-build--I sought out a nationally recognized name. Unfortunately, Mayflower locally led me to Nilson Van Lines. While the load and NC move were bad, we had no idea what was in store for us 18 months later when our belongings were finally delivered to our new home in Bluffton. Although we paid for climate controlled storage a significant portion of our belongings, both in boxes, and furniture were covered in mold. A move is stressful enough, and unpacking is hard work. Add to that the need to wash and/or wipe down EVERYTHING! I had to throw away numerous items of clothing, shoes, purse, etc. that were just too far gone. We managed this and didn't complain, however we did have a few large pieces of furniture that were damaged, including a large custom leather sofa that was significantly damaged. We purchased the full value replacement insurance and filed a claim within a week. Now, two months later we still can't get them to respond with a straight answer on when and how the claim will be handled. The owner, when she does respond, is now providing misleading information. We are getting the run around and are not being paid even though we purchased the insurance.

I give ***** (5 stars) to Nilson Van and Storage, an affiliated local team for Mayflower. I am very pleased to have selected Mayflower for our moving. We started back in January with our move from Connecticut with Murphy, the local team for long distance to haul our belongings to a storage unit in South Carolina. Then when we were ready to move out of storage to our new home locally in South Carolina, Murphy’s coordinator, Lisa Pryzgoda referred us to Mayflower local team Nilson Van and Storage. I contacted Trey Dunlap and he quickly assessed what I needed, sent me a quote and put me in touch with Nilson’s coordinator, Theresa Barton. It was a pleasure to work with Theresa. She took control, explained next steps and kept me up to date on the schedule including driver, Jerrell Williams and crew information. Jerrell and his 3 man crew were on time, professional, courteous and most important, took great care of our belongings when moving us out of storage and into our new home. They covered our new wood floors, unpacked large items and assembled 2 beds and dining table with ease. We highly recommend Mayflower and their local affiliates Nilson Van and Storage in Savannah and Murphy in Brewster NY.04:44 PM

I am telling you, if you value your household possession do not use this company. They will trash your stuff and then just tell you to file an insurance claim. They will ignore all instructions regarding packing items and do whatever they feel like. They do not care about your items or your time. Completely worthless - do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for moving services.

Very uninformative company, did nothing give any updates on HHG and after we called a month after they supposedly moved our stuff they couldn’t tell us where their driver is and stated our goods were still at the original destination with no proposed date to be where we were. Unprofessional and not courteous.

Worst moving company so far. The experience was stressful from start to finish. Zero respect to house owners by not following COVID guidelines or Heath protocols. Crew members DID NOT adhere to the CDC guidelines for COVID-19. From introducing themselves without mask to taking their masks off during the whole process (while we had our masks on the whole time). A crew member left for a doctor's appointment during the move and we had to wait for him. I had to ask the household goods packer for an inventory since it wasn't provided and property was already packed. Also, a high value sheet had to be requested since high value items were packed and did not appear on the inventory. Crew members left personal trash and materials on the property. Do not recommend this company.

Run far far way - do not choose this company for your move. Choosing a moving company can be confusing and overwhelming. Let me do you a favor and eliminate Nilson/Mayflower from the running. We decided to go with Mayflower, thinking that a bigger company would be more responsible for our move from SC to FL. Boy were we wrong. They violated our contract and did not fulfill our move as promised during every single step of the process. Moving is stressful enough and this company made it down right horrible and traumatizing. The SHORT version is:- They sent a small truck instead of tractor trailer on load day even though we had a 3,000 sqft house to load and we knew right away everything wouldn't fit. We were promised a tractor trailer.- The load crew that showed up was awful. The opposite of friendly, I could hear them yelling and swearing at each other constantly. When I asked for them to move a certain couch that wasn't coming with us (go figure, movers move something) the men became physically aggressive and yelled at me. (I'm a 5'2 woman)- The load crew was awful, it took them FOREVER to load. THEN we had to wait for a 2nd truck, because it all wouldn't fit. DUH. - 1st shipment arrives to FL - golf cart is 100% broken (spent $1000 to fix it)- 2nd shipment arrives weeks later...but wait...half of it is missing. No one knows where it is...- 2 weeks later, "oh we found your stuff"- 2 weeks later, remaining stuff delivered. Items still missing, and loads of broken items.- On top of all this, they charged us for the full move amount BEFORE all of our things were delivered which is in violation of contract. When I asked for this to be fixed while we waited 4 weeks for the rest of our stuff to be found/delivered, I was told they would not do it. Nobody at Mayflower or Nilson Van and Storage cared about this horrific and stressful process we endured. We paid double what other movers quotes us because we thought we'd get what we paid for. NOPE.I couldn't get a hold of anyone at customer service until we filed a BBB complaint. They hire day laborers to load and unload so you are getting unvetted, random people at your home who do not care about representing the parent company. Bottom line is: do not choose Mayflower or United. (They are the same companies) This decision cost us thousands of dollars in damages and incredible emotional strain. Never again.
