The cemetery tour was very interesting and engaging. Chris was an awesome guide giving us both thought provoking details as well as humorous jokes and riddles. So much history of the nation flows through here. Seeing prominent figures of the past and pioneers of our modern world is very fun.

Our tour guide, Dawn, was outstanding. She explained the symbols used on gravestones, why certain flowers were planted as well as the history of the people buried there. The cemetery itself was very peaceful and beautiful. This tour is worth the 4 mile drive from the Savannah riverfront district. The tour is very reasonably priced for a 2 hour plus outing. There are some very unique souvenirs in the gift shop as well as water and bug spray. There were some gnats, so long pants are recommended. The gift shop did lend us hand fans so we could cool ourselves off. This is a 'must stop' if you visit Savannah. If you are lucky enough to have Dawn as your tour guide, she may provide you with a bonus when you get to Johnny Mercer's family plot. ;-)
