I absolutely loved staying here the house is just gorgeous. The check in process was seamless and parking was so convenient. The bed was extremely comfortable and the toiletries they provided were very nice. I was in the hydrangea suite which was lovely with 2 bedrooms one with a king bed and one with a queen bed. Chemise was a great host with wonderful breakfast and coffee. I can’t wait to stay here again!

Location’ is walking distance to just about everything. Service is great. The rooms could use some attention. Overall the inn has a vintage (boutique?) feel, but for the price it could maintain that feel without structural neglect.

I booked the Inn for my husband and I's anniversary. We arrived to see a building that did not reflect the pristine pictures. The front stairs are super steep and we were rushed through our check in as there was someone behind us. We arrived to our room to discover a giant hornet hanging out on the chandelier that looked like it may fall out of the ceiling. The room itself was barely large enough for my husband and I and our two suitcases. There was no way to control the temperature in the room so we roasted the first night. The room was worn and had been haphazardly restored at different times based on the water damage, missing trim and worn paint. The breakfast was delicious, we did enjoy that part. We were so uncomfortable that we considered not staying the second night. You're paying for location with this place to be sure as we were a few blocks from the best that Savannah has to offer. We would not stay again.
Walkability: Walkable to several restaurants, parks, and bus stops

For an anniversary trip, we stayed in the Rose room. The food and hospitality from Chemise was fantastic. The location in relation to walking distance to many things was also great. The room itself was a bit disappointing for a couples stay. It was small, had no way to adjust the room temperature other than a small portable fan which was quite dusty. The bathroom had a very small single shower and while was fairly clean the initial look and feel was that it was not as clean as it could be. I attribute that to dust, paint splatter, unfinished painting and shower tile stains. The shower door did not have a locking closure but pulled in past the opening. Could definitely have been more elegant given other factors of the house.

Drove by and just had to stop and take a couple pics. How beautiful is this Victorian home?

This place is a magical Hallmark movie come to life. The inn hostess, Chemise, is a gem. She manages to make every experience amazing. I'm sorry I can only give 5 stars!

I stayed here for a retreat from Nov 1-4 and I can’t say enough about how amazing my stay was here. The house is absolutely gorgeous in every way. Our room was comfortable and clean. It was in a great location within walking distance to many attractions. But I think the thing that really made our stay TOP NOTCH was Chemise, our hostess, chef and inn keeper. She was hospitable, attentive and an incredible cook! She made our stay even more memorable. Thank you Chemise!

Cannot say enough good things about the Amethyst Garden Inn. I know there will be other bed and breakfast places, but between the beautiful setting (inside and out), John the owner (very pleasent gentleman) and the hostess Chemise (who is a wonderful cook and local guide) the Amethyst just shines. This is the kind of place that swims in Southern charm and history. The best thing one might say is that even with all the other options, we would be happy to recommend the Amethyst to friends and stay there again on a trip to Savannah. They are a credit to the city.

We stayed here October 2023 and it was a great experience. We stayed in the dahlia room which was a nice size and had a largecomfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and the inn has a great location within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. There were a couple things that I would have loved that would’ve put our stay over the top. One is that many of the bed and breakfasts we stayed in on our trip had robes in the rooms which was a nice touch but the amethyst does not. The second is that our room did not have a TV and I don’t think any of the rooms do. After spending all day sightseeing and on my feet I would’ve loved to have been able to come back and watch something. If we return to Savannah we would stay here again and would recommend it to our friends!

Absolutely stunning. However, I was expecting wild lavender growing on the property.

I stayed at the Amethyst Garden Inn while visiting Savannah earlier this spring. My room was richly appointed with comfortable bedding and authentic period pieces. This inn provides a truly luxurious experience. Breakfast is fantastic and the staff are very friendly. Great access to downtown Savannah and the riverside. It was my first visit and I'll certainly be returning!

Fantastic place! The hostess Chemise made better breakfast than most of the places you can eat in Savannah. If she did lunch and dinner along with a strong a strong drink I wouldn't have reason to leave the house! :

A hidden gem in the center of the city! Filled with trees and shops, this place is too good to be true. The food was as expected. Their caprese sandwich is a must try. Irish cream coffee was nutty and flavourful. You get vegetarian options here. Please do visit other stores in this cafe!

My husband and I just spent a weekend at this lovely bed and breakfast. The house was beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable, and Chemise was such a wonderful hostess. The property is in a great location being so close to Forsyth Park and about a 20 minute walk from River Street. I look forward to our return someday!
