I was referred to Kenny and used him once before for a short cut style I had. Kenny excelled at this style. I booked his services again in great need to prepare for a busy week of appearances. I purchased hair from a beauty supply store and brought it in for a sew in with a middle part. I was quoted $280 for the sew and separate fees for shampoo, take down services, a rinse, and for having more than two bundles bringing my total to $440.
The price is not the issue. The quality of the sewin and the braiding foundation is. All of the tracks on the top of my head were exposed and couldn’t be covered. I had a hump on the top of my head due to a braid that Kenny added. The foundation of the sew in was very lumpy and some areas were pulled extremely tight.
Kenny waited until all the hair was installed to state the hair was thin instead of inspecting the hair prior to use. He rinsed my hair a completely different color than the hair itself because he didn’t check the hair.
Due to him accepting my appointment, although I was running late, I didn’t leave the salon until nearly 10pm. I didn’t have the opportunity to look deeply at my hair but once I got home I was so disappointed after deeper inspection. I immediately contacted Kenny asking for a take down and consideration of a partial refund.
Instead of taking handling the issue , he decided to blame the density of my hair stating my hair and edges were thin. He told me I liked my hair and refused my refund. I told him I didn’t like my hair and showed him these pictures once two other stylists had to help me take it out. They were both saddened by the install and very disappointed in my experience. I attempted to ask for $270 and Kenny declined such. This was the base price of the install. He did not counter offer. Being that I work a demanding schedule and have to identify another option quickly before my next appearance, I was unable to come in for a take down. He recommend I cut it into a bob instead of acknowledging the poor install and tracks that cannot be covered on the top due to the way he installed the hair.
This stylist only takes payments by zelle which cannot be disputed so now I’ll have to file a small claims and report this work.
I personally did everything I could to communicate my concerns and to handle the manner professionally and he refused.
I would not recommend his services on the basis of having poor conflict resolution and not having an amicable policy in place when a customer is not pleased.
Telling me I am pleased when I paid $440 all to have to remove the hair within 24 due to a poor install is a terrible way to treat a customer.

My 8 yr son gets hair cuts from Mr. Will at Kariel & Co. Every time we go, we find the facilities to be a very clean, safe, and accommodating with affordable services. The environment is super warm, friendly, as well as professional.
Mr. Will's station is very hygienic. He is kind and shows patience to my child during and after the process. My kid tickles easily and HATES hair cuts because he has had bad experiences in the past with other barbers not being kind.
No one asked for the review and I only write reviews after a few visits. If you or your kid like quiet, private, friendly services, this is the place to go for hair cuts.

Look, let me break it down for you why you need to go to THIS salon: Candace Phillips is the Queen of All Hair in Atlanta, Georgia and if I am being real with you, probably the whole South. I have known Candace since I met her when I worked at Cosmoprof in 2010- you see, I worked in beauty for years myself so I know what’s top level. I’ve seen some of the most famous hairdressers in our field do hair and Candace is not only in their league she could teach some of them a lesson or two. In 2012 I trusted the wrong stylist with my hair and got butchered, and it was Candace I turned to in tears because “omg I look like a poodle with a mullet please help me fix this mess!” And Candace DELIVERED. Y’all she had me looking as good as a person could look under the circumstances of what I came in with. After that, I vowed she would always be my top choice to do my hair. She has given me some amazing haircuts over the years that grew out beautifully and lasted well, and recently when I was in town for a funeral she worked me in on a Friday and gave me exactly the radical change I needed- a full highlight and newly minted bangs!- and somehow I walked out of there looking both a decade younger and many pounds thinner, at the same time?! What?! What magic is in those hands? Candace is one of the most highly trained Paul Mitchell educators out there - meaning she has taught continuing education to established professionals - so I can say with my own trained eye that her technique is flawless. Finally, and this is important to note: Candace can expertly handle ALL types and textures of hair, from the wispiest fine stick straight hair to the thickest, coarsest hair with the tightest natural curl patterns. Not all hairdressers have this ability!!! Also you should totally get Aija who works there to do your lashes because not only is she a sweetheart, I saw one of her clients as they were leaving and her lashes looked fantastic.

I was in Atlanta on vacation and needed my crochet twists shaped into a bob style. I contacted several salons but they were all booked up. On a whim I went to Kariel \u0026 Co and Candace immediately said she could fit me in. She looked at a few pictures and consulted with me on the style and it turned out perfectly. In 20 minutes she had my hair cut exactly like the picture. I definitely recommend her! She’s professional, personable and great at her craft!

Very pleasant salon experience. Kenny is a an intuitive, personable, knowledgeable and professional stylist. He does my cut and color exactly to my liking, and fosters healthy hair growth. Kenny is outstandingly knowledgable when it comes to my hair. We started out with a consultation that had us come up with a plan on what I wanted out of my visits with him. I have never had any stylist discuss my hair the way he had, or what he saw as possible for me. He had a bigger vision than I had! Like other reviewers said, he is all about healthy hair and growth. My hair has movement and shine, and I'm able to maintain the look for a few days (I visit him weekly). At the end of my visit, I know what's planned for my next. The last thing I'd like to add is he gives his perspective and opinion as a man on what he believes is flattering on me, and I appreciate that.

Kenny is such an amazing hairstylist who is very knowledgeable about healthy hair and very meticulous with styling hair. He's patient, attentive and cares about each of his clients to ensure they have fabulous healthy hair! He's been styling my hair for nearly 5 years and I've been very pleased with all of his services, including silk press, extensions, and crochet braids. Also, he's helped to restore the health of my hair to be full and long again. I highly recommend Salon Kariel!
