Fabulous experience! The studio is beautiful and is the perfect backdrop for practice. Sava is a gifted teacher whose knowledge of the Ashtanga practice is enhanced by his ability to adjust students into correct alignment while maintaining safe practices.

I am currently attending the Beginners Course at Mysore Yoga Atlanta - it is a birthday present to myself :) I have practiced various forms of yoga for over 20 years and am YTT 200-hour certified, but was still intimidated by Ashtanga yoga. It seemed too rigorous for me - too fast, too difficult, too long, too advanced... - of course I was judging it from an online class I took once (literally one time), which I had to stop halfway through because I couldn't keep up. Flash forward several years, I saw the beginners course advertised and for some reason felt drawn to it. I do believe we are drawn to certain things for a reason, so I signed up to see what it was all about. It is nothing like I expected! You learn the breath work and poses in the course sessions each week, and then you practice it during the week. Go to the practice sessions included in the course! The instructors are there to make gentle adjustments, reminders and suggestions. The Mysore style class is unguided. It is a set sequence, however you practice at your own pace (not too fast) with a focus on correct breath, breath-to-movement and alignment. Sava does such a fantastic job teaching, breaking it down in bite-size pieces (not too difficult), only adding more when you are ready (not too long). You only go as far or as deep as you can continue your breathing for the full hold time of the pose (not too advanced). With regular practice, your form improves and you can flow through the sequence a little easier, going deeper or adding more challenging poses along the way. At Mysore Yoga Atlanta, they accept you and meet you where you are, without judgment or expectation. It has been a great experience, I have learned a lot and I am so glad I enrolled in this course. I definitely recommend giving it a try! Your mind, body and spirit will thank you!!

I'm very thankful for the 4 weeks of Ashtanga beginner’s training in Mysore!I enjoyed the depth of the trainings, ashtanga wisdom shared, friendly and knowledgeable support of the Teacher, the intensity and energy of the practice and people I’ve met who share the same enthusiasm and respect to this discipline.I admire Sava’s professionalism and very grateful that he didn't lower the expectations for me and gave me tasks for me to grow and challenge me.I highly recommend Mysore. They provide the perfect environment to support your personal journey, based on your body’s capacity, to look inwards rather than follow general instructions and directions, and they provide a very knowledgeable support adjusting and assisting you to deconstruct your body’s and mental limitations. If you take your yoga practice seriously- you’ll find your Teacher and the perfect space for your practice to evolve here!.. •

I'm on the last week of the 4-week beginner's course and I’ve been recommending it to my friends and neighbors! It should tell you something when a large chunk of the course students are present/past yoga teachers. There’s so much good information and foundational techniques/tips that even teachers/seasoned practitioners are finding value in this course. And it’s not too overwhelming or intense for beginners like me, too! This is coming from someone who did Youtube yoga here and there and a random yoga class once in a blue moon.Sava teaches in a way that makes me excited to go practice and also gives me the courage to face my insecurities on the mat. He really knows what you can handle (even when you don’t think you can) and will push you in ways that make you feel more confident in your practice. It’s amazing how he remembers every students’ sequence progression as well as manages to stay attentive to the individual adjustment needs of everyone in a Mysore class session. There’s so much to learn that I’ve found it super helpful to get the spiral book that he recommends!Come check out a class, you won’t regret it!

Best Ashtanga yoga in Atlanta. Ashtanga is an extensive yoga system, includes poses, breathing exercises etc. Easy to learn but challenging at the same time. Improving my physical fitness and mental health at the same time!

Ashtanga yoga is life-changing and Mysore is the best studio in Atlanta! Sava is devoted to his students and leading others down this beautiful path. I love how he told me that when you are doing Ashtanga, you realize you can successfully do other hard things in life. It is empowering and provides you with the opportunity to challenge yourself with the same, methodic sequence of poses. There is no fluff here because it's not needed. If you're interested in truly learning about and getting the most out of your yoga practice, do not miss the opportunity to participate in Ashtanga Yoga at Mysore with Sava and his outstanding team!

I taught myself some yoga for several years before I happened to see Mysore_Yoga_Atlanta add for beginner’s class in March 2023, which I signed up immediately. I was so excited about this because I had been looking for a certified authentic Ashtanga yoga teacher after reading Yoga Mala by Sri K Pattabhi Jois , the book tells us to practice under certified Ashtanga instructors. I was amazed by the welcoming and beautiful atmosphere of Mysore_Yoga_Atlanta, and this was the very first time I stepped into a yoga studio! But what impressed me most is the teacher, Mr Sava, he is so professional, so serious, so passionate and yet so friendly and humorous in his teaching. I found out that I couldn’t even breathe correctly despite of those few years’ self-teaching! So I started all over again from the very basics: breathing! After I finished the second beginner class, I felt I was alive: I can breathe! During the past almost one year, I have been practicing about 3 times a week under Mr Sava’s instructions, I keep making mistakes, but above all I keep making progress. No mistake is too small to avoid Mr Sava’s professional sharp eyes. No shortcut, but all strict practices pay off. I never thought I could accomplish up to three quarters of primary series in merely a year. Mr Sava instructs and inspires me to do what I used to think “mission impossible “. Mr Sava is magic, he knows every student’s uniqueness and has his magical methods to instruct each of us students to the asanas. I become a stronger, more confident and happier person ever since I practiced at Mysore _Yoga_Atlanta, there’s no word to express my deep gratitude for Mr Sava, who keeps inspiring me in this life-changing and life-long journey. I am so blessed and honored to be his student. God bless him forever. Namaste ❤️?♂️?

Starting a daily yoga practice is something I’ve wanted to do for a few years now, especially after relocating from Chicago to Atlanta. I’m so happy to say that Mysore Atlanta has given me a place where I can, and have, rekindled my love for Yoga.Sava is thoughtful, insightful, friendly, funny, and he encourages students to meet themselves where they are in their practice (but also to push when it’s okay/safe). The space is welcoming and warm. I couldn’t speak more highly of this lovely studio :-) I feel lucky to have found it, and am thankful to practice here!

I am about 5 years into my Yoga journey and nearly completed my first year learning Ashtanga and committing to a daily practice. The rewards of a healthier body and steadier mind are so satisfying. The Ashtanga practice has physically opened my hamstrings, hips and back while improving balance….Sava sought to understand and learn my body’s needs and made progress helping/guiding me each week, each session. His assists are healing and different. My understanding of Breath with his teaching is dramatically different than a year ago and this has carried to my days where I breath more consciously and am more present with less thoughts and improved mental clarity. It is a demanding practice, but the impact to my nervous system, spiritual development and life are worth the effort. I find Sava’s firm/disciplined and caring approach effective for me. My wife also enjoys her practice with Sava and while she arrived more advanced as a former instructor, she too has grown remarkably in this year w Sava’s guidance. We appreciate the community of like mind souls doing their work. I plan to be a lifetime Ashtanga practitioner and will advocate this journey to each person I speak with.Thank you to Sava and all who have inspired my practice.
