Be sure to show the availability upfront while making a reservation as it helps saving customer's time. Customers have to make a trip to the rental location and end up returning disappointed without any vehicle being assigned even with a valid reservation.

I had a reservation for about a month to pick up a large SUV (Yukon) for moving my son into college. When I arrived at the location, I was informed they didn’t have the SUV or anything of similar size. I found this unacceptable—it's frustrating to make a reservation and then show up to find that the vehicle isn’t available.
I voiced my frustration and was told that they had found a similar vehicle, but it was over 45 minutes away. I agreed to wait an hour and asked if the car could be delivered to the original location. I was told this wasn’t possible.
When I asked the branch manager, Ryan Young, why I hadn’t received a phone call about the issue, he explained that they don’t make such calls. I argued that it’s unreasonable to not provide a heads-up about such a significant issue, especially when customers are relying on the service. I told them that we specifically needed the larger SUV.
I requested to cancel my reservation to avoid being charged, but was told that this wasn’t possible once the pickup time had passed. I had to handle the situation myself. I’m questioning the effectiveness and ethics of this Hertz location—how can they accept reservations and then fail to deliver the promised service? Ryan Young mentioned that this is a common issue, with multiple reservations being affected, and that they often don’t have the vehicles available. Ryan Young informed me we have 7 Type T reservations for this Friday but don't have any SUV on hand to fulfill the contract.
It’s troubling to think that, as of today, one customer was let down, today and this Friday, seven more will face the same issue. This raises serious concerns about how Hertz continues to operate with such practices.

This location suffers from poor management. Only 1 person working the desk on a Monday. Waited for an hour + to receive a vehicle. Their corporate also seems to be double booking cars. Company is a disaster and it shows.

Terrible service. Was put on hold indefinitely. Called back to complain and they told me the guy went out to move cars (while leaving me on hold). Unbelievable.

Terrible terrible customer service. Came to pick a up a rental car which should take between 5 to 10 min… I was here for an hour. Employees were incredibly unprofessional. You’re better off putting mileage on your car than wasting time at this establishment.

The worst car rental experiences I’ve ever had. I reserved a compact car via Expedia (also was available on Hertz website). I arrived there 5 min prior to my reservation, and the line was out the door with only one employee at the check-in desk. I overheard others in the line saying that they only had electric cars available even if you had a reservation (presumably overbooked and hertz didn’t update their website or Expedia). I wasn’t driving an electric car 6 hours to Florida and wasn’t going to wait any longer after waiting 20 min in line with hardly any movement. I confirmed cancellation via Expedia and received a message saying it was a no-risk reservation where I wouldn’t be charged. A week later I received a no-show charge on my credit card via hertz. I will never reserve with hertz again after this experience.

I’m a 27 year old single mother… my car got totaled… after I got my settlement from insurance I decided to rent a car to give myself some more time to decide on something I really wanted.. in the meantime of this I payed them the $500 deductible THAT THEY DID NOT GIVE BACK! I had the hardest time actually getting ahold of someone so I drove back to the location to speak with a manager whom told me he would have it fixed and call me back….. NEVER DID. They also CHARGED MY CARD $120 FOR GAS I REPLACED! SO UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO ROB YOU$625 i suggest enterprise! ENTERPRISE HAS ALWAYS BEEN SO HELPFUL TO ME AND NEVER STOLE MY MONEY I would like to also add that I spoke with my bank in regards to this….. my lady stated that “SHE IS CONSTANTLY HAVING TO DISPUTE CHARGES FROM THEM FOR MULTIPLE OTHER NAVY FEDERAL MEMBERS”

Had a reservation and go to pick it up and they do not have my vehicle. Agent claimed the manager Benita called to inform me it wasn’t available but I have no missed calls. Gentleman in front of me had the exact same issue.

At 8:35, the “only” guy at this location has to do everything, from detailing a car to receiving cars being dropped off. While there is no manager in sight and only someone else in the break room having breakfast.
He does his best with an smile, which I was appreciative of, but HERTZ, that is no way to staff a location. Even for security reasons!!! Not to say customer service.

Honestly, if I could give negative star I would. My rental experience was the most horrible one. I showed up at the time of my reservation for a cargo van. Upon arrival I found out that they did not have my reserved car choice. The largest car they had was a Ford Explorer. This was not what I reserved nor would it meet my specific needs. I was told I could drive the Explorer to the airport and see if they had what I needed. The Alpharetta location did not have access to contact the airport or see their car availability.
I left feeling disappointed in the complete lack of preparation in this business. I have rented from two other rental car companies within the past month and this was not my previous experience. I ended up renting from a different car company. I would have appreciated being notified by Hertz that they could not meet my needs prior to my reservation time.

If I could give negative stars I would! Worst experience ever!!! My husband made a reservation for a Nissan Maxima and when we arrived they told us “no cars were available” even though we had a confirmed reservation. They told us we could wait to see what cars were turned in. We waited over two hours. The car they had was a much larger vehicle than what we reserved. We were told that they would still honor the price since that is what our reservation was under. When my husband saw the daily charge the lady told him she couldn’t change it and that we had to wait till the charges went through to have it fixed. We waited till charges went through and now they are saying we signed the paperwork and are stuck with those charges. The lady that helped us was so rude to us. You can’t get anyone to help you. You can only email and that takes 5-7 business days. This is the worst rental place I have ever dealt with. Do not use them!!!

Absolutely the worst customer service experience of any Hertz location I've used. I reserved a Medium Sedan for a drive to Nashville, TN. When I arrived, I was told that the car type I'd reserved was not available. I had the option to rent a Large SUV at a significantly higher rental rate or I could leave my telephone number and they would call me when they had the car, I'd reserved available. Under time constrains, I decided to cancel the reservation and make alternative arrangements. Hertz then billed me for a $50.00 no show fee. I travel frequently and have found Hertz to be a solid company, but I would seriously that anyone in need of renting an automobile in Alpharetta avoid this location if possible.
